Part A - Constitution 1. NAME AND BURGEE 1.1 The name of the association shall be: Flying Eleven Sailing Association of Australia (the Association, National Class Association or NCA). 1.2 The Association burgee shall consist of a blue Flying Eleven insignia on a white background. 2. OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The objectives and responsibilities of the Association are: 2.1 To promote and further the building, sailing and racing of Flying Eleven boats (the Class) throughout Australia. 2.2 To foster participation in organised Class training and competition where success will be achieved by the skill of the helmsman and crew, and not by intentional variations of design or construction of the boat. 2.3 To serve as the national body in Australia for the Class responsible for: 2.3.1 making and administering, reviewing and amending Class Rules, Specifications, Regulations and other rulings for the Class; 2.3.2 granting recognition to Flying Eleven State Associations (Class State Associations); and 2.3.2 the sanctioning of National, State and any regional Class regattas. 2.4 To organise the Australian Championships for the Class. 2.5 To encourage interstate competition for the Class. 2.6 To coordinate the programme for Class State Association events held in Australia and to keep Class State Associations informed of developments concerning the Class and any proposals concerning Class Rules. 2.7 To represent generally the interests of the Class and of the owners of Flying Eleven boats throughout Australia. 2.8 Where possible, to encourage interest in the Class outside Australia with the aim of development as an international Class. 3. POWERS OF THE ASSOCIATION Subject to the provisions of this Constitution the Association shall have power to: 3.1 Make Class Rules, Regulations, Specifications and other rulings to govern Class racing within Australia and to repeal, alter or add thereto. 3.2 Admit and remove Class State Associations to Membership of the Association in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution. 3.3 Set or alter all fees and charges payable by member Class State Associations. 3.4 Regulate the Association s own proceedings including in relation to service of notices and credentials of member Class State Association delegates. 3.5 Organise the Class Australian Championship, including to decide the date and venue for such Championship, the sailing instructions, eligibility of competitors, general conditions and requirements and any special age or other considerations whatsoever applicable thereto. 3.6 Determine and appoint an Organising and a Race Committee which shall control the Class Australian Championship. 3.7 Maintain a perpetual trophy for the Class Australian Championship and any other trophies from time to time deemed appropriate. 3.8 Amend this Constitution, Class Rules and Class Australian Championship conditions in the manner herein provided. 3.9 All such other powers not being inconsistent with this Constitution as are necessary or expedient in achieving the objectives of the Association. 4. AFFILIATIONS The Association may affiliate with any National, State or International organisation or association which will assist in the promotion or advancement of the objects of the Association, the Class and of sailing generally. 5. APPLICATIONS AND MEMBERSHIP OF THE ASSOCIATION 5.1 The Members of the Association shall comprise: Class State Associations which have been admitted to membership of the Association; and the Office Bearers of the Association from time to time elected; in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution. 5.2 Only Class State Associations recognised as such by the Yachting Association of the State of Australia in which such association operates and deemed property constituted by the Executive Committee of the Association shall be eligible for membership of the Association. 5.3 Any Class State Association seeking admission as a member of the Association shall: 5.3.1 Make written application for membership to the Hon. Secretary; 5.3.2 Provide a copy of its current Constitution and by-laws to the Hon. Secretary together with such application; and 5.3.3 Make payment of any then applicable Joining Fee and first year Affiliation Fee, such monies to be refunded should the application not be successful. 5.4 Applications for Class State Association membership of the Association properly lodged in accordance with Clause 5.3 shall be circulated to all existing members of the Association within one (1) calendar month of the receipt thereof by the Hon. Secretary. 5.5 The admission of a Class State Association applicant to membership of the Association shall require a simple majority approval of such admission by all then current member Constitution and Class Rules 3 Rev 10 - Sep 2015

Class State Associations. In instances where there is no majority for approval or disapproval, then the President of the Association shall have a casting vote in the determination of the application. 5.6 Current member Class State Associations are required to provide the Hon. Secretary with written confirmation of their approval (or otherwise) of the membership application by no later than two (2) calendar months after the date on which the application was circulated. Non-receipt of such confirmation (or otherwise) from any member Class State Association shall be deemed to be an approval of the application by that member Class State Association. 6. MEMBERSHIP OBLIGATIONS AND FEES 6.1 By accepting membership of the Association, all members have determined to and do agree to abide and be bound by the provisions of this Constitution and to adhere to all rules, regulations and other determinations made under or in connection with or in consequence of this Constitution. 6.2 The Association at the Annual Meeting shall be entitled to determine a Joining Fee from time to time payable on acceptance of a Class State Association to membership of the Association. 6.3 All Class State Association members of the Association are required to make payment to the Association of such Annual Affiliation Fee as may be determined from time to time by the Association at the Annual Meeting, such Fee to be due and payable on the 1 st day of September each year. 6.4 All Class State Association members of the Association shall in addition pay a Boat Registration Fee determined by the Executive Committee for each boat on such Class State Association member s register as at the 1 st October of each year and such fee shall be due and payable on the 1 st November each year. 6.5 Any Class State Association member who has not paid such Annual Affiliation and Boat Registration Fees to the Association within 30 days of due date shall automatically cease to be a member of the Association but may be readmitted upon payment of all arrears provided the period of lapsed membership does not exceed twelve (12) calendar months. 7. RESIGNATION FROM MEMBERSHIP OF THE ASSOCIATION Any member may terminate their membership by giving written notice thereof to the Hon. Secretary. 8. OFFICE BEARERS 8.1 The Association shall have the following Office Bearers who shall be elected on a majority vote of the member Class State Associations of the Association at the Annual Meeting: President Vice-Presidents (One from each Class State Association) Hon. Class Sponsorship & Marketing Officer 8.3 The duties of any two (2) of the Office Bearers may be combined except those of President and Vice-President. 8.4 The Vice-President from the member Class State Association in which the Annual Meeting is convened shall be deemed to be the Senior Vice-President. 8.5 In the event of a casual vacancy occurring in the Office Bearers of the Association, the Executive Committee may appoint any person who in the current or immediately preceding financial year of the Association is or was the registered owner or co-owner of a Class boat on the register of a member Class State Association or the parent or guardian of the regular helmsman or crew of such registered Class boat to fill the vacancy and the Office Bearer so appointed is to hold office, subject to this Constitution, until the conclusion of the Annual Meeting of the Association next following the date of such appointment. A casual vacancy in the Office Bearers of the Association occurs: if no person was elected to such office at the Annual Meeting of the Association; or if a person was so elected, that Office Bearer: resigns from office by notice in writing given to the Hon. Secretary; or dies; or becomes an insolvent; or becomes a mentally incapacitated person; or is absent without the consent of the Executive Committee from 3 consecutive meetings of the Executive Committee; or is convicted of an offence involving fraud or dishonesty. 9. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND POWERS 9.1 The Office Bearers shall form the Executive Committee of the Association and shall hold not less than three (3) meetings during the period between consecutive Annual Meetings for the purpose of conducting the business of the Association. 9.2 Additional meetings of the Executive Committee may be convened by the President or a Vice-President. 9.3 Oral or written notice (including by way of electronic means) of a meeting of the Executive Committee must be given to each member of the Executive Committee at least 48 hours before the time appointed for the holding of the meeting of the Executive Committee (or such other period as may be unanimously agreed on by the members of the Executive Committee). 9.4 A quorum for Executive Committee meetings shall be any three (3) of the Office Bearers of which only one (1) may be a Vice-President. 9.5 Meetings of the Executive Committee may be conducted at 2 or more venues using any technology that gives each of the members of the Executive Committee a reasonable opportunity to participate, including without limitation by way of telephone conferencing, video conferencing and electronic or virtual or on-line meeting facilities now known or hereafter developed. 9.6 The Executive Committee shall have full power and authority to: 9.6.1 Conduct all of the business of the Association between General Meetings. 9.6.2 Deal with all routine matters concerning the organisation and administration of the Association. 9.6.3 Authorise the Hon. Treasurer to make payments in relation to the activities and expenses of the Association of monies not exceeding $1,000.00 (or such greater amount as may from time to time be authorised by the Members of the Association at the Annual Meeting) for any single item. Expenditure in excess of $1,000.00 (or such greater amount as may from time to time be authorised by the Members of the Association at the Annual Meeting) for any single item shall require authorisation by way of a formal resolution of the Executive Committee. 10. DUTIES OF OFFICE BEARERS 10.1 President; The President shall preside over all meetings of the Association and of the Executive Committee at which he is present. Other than as may be provided to the contrary in this Constitution, the President shall not have a casting vote at meetings of the Association or of the Executive Committee. 10.2 Vice-Presidents; The Senior Vice-President when available shall perform the duties of the President whenever the President is absent. Should the Senior Vice-President not be available then any Vice-President who is available shall perform the duties of the President. 10.3 Hon. Secretary The Hon. Secretary shall: 10.3.1 Keep minutes of all Association meetings, circulate copies thereof to all delegates and Office Bearers within four (4) weeks of such meetings and maintain a Minute Book containing the minutes of all such meetings. 10.3.2 Maintain a list of the Association s members together with an up-to date record of the delegates appointed by each member. 10.3.3 Circulate and receive voting papers and report the results of all ballots held by the Association to the Association s members. 10.3.4 Deal with all correspondence as directed by meetings of the Association including the signing of correspondence on behalf of the Association. 10.3.5 Establish and develop such procedures as are required to maintain the effective administration of the Association acting within the confines of this Constitution. 10.4 Hon. Treasurer The Hon. Treasurer shall: 10.4.1 Maintain proper books of account giving full particulars of all monies, assets and liabilities of the Association and of all monies received and expended by the Association together with the reasons for such receipts and expenditures. 10.4.2 Collect all monies due to the Association and deposit them into the Association s bank account. 10.4.3 At the Annual Meeting, present a proper statement and balance sheet accurately recording the financial position of the Association together with any relevant books or documents which may be required. 10.4.4 Forward to all members of the Association: an account on the 1st August of each year setting out the member s Annual Affiliation Fee and any other fees or charges deemed due and payable at that date; an account on the 1 st October of each year setting out the member s Boat Registration Fees due and payable at that date and in each case shall forward second and final accounts on the 1 st day of the following month if any such fees or charges payable by a member remain unpaid at that time. 10.5 Hon. Measurer The Hon. Measurer shall: 10.5.1 Be the final authority on the interpretation of the Flying Eleven Class Rules set out in Part B of this Constitution. 10.5.2 Oversee and co-ordinate the initial measurement of boats by the Measurers of member Class State Associations and the issue by them of an Association Measurement Certificate for the same insofar as such Certificates are from time to time issued by the Association. 10.5.3 Deal with any matters referred to the Hon. Measurer by member Class State Association Measurers or by the Executive Committee of the Association. 10.6 Hon. Registrar The Hon. Registrar shall: 10.6.1 Issue and control the allocation of boat numbers to member Class State Associations. 10.6.2 Maintain an Australian Class Register by boat number of all Flying Eleven boats registered with the Member Class State Associations. 10.6.3 Maintain a record of all Flying Eleven boats for which Measurement Certificates have from time to time been issued. 10.7 Hon. Handicapper The Hon. Handicapper shall: 10.7.1 Calculate and allocate handicaps to each boat entered in an Association event and such allocations shall be final. 10.7.2 Maintain a record of all handicaps allocated and the race results for all Association events. 11. ANNUAL AND OTHER MEETINGS OF THE ASSOCIATION 11.1 The Association shall hold an Annual Meeting once in each calendar year during the time and at the venue of the Class Australian Championship which Annual Meeting shall be the governing body of the Association. 11.2 Each member Class State Association shall be represented at the Annual and other Meetings of the Association by a delegation of no more than four (4) delegates. 11.3 A minimum of one (1) member Class State Association delegation and five (5) Office Bearers (of whom two are required to be the President or Vice-Presidents) shall constitute a quorum of all meetings of the Association. 11.4 For purposes of Motions, Resolutions and other Ballots or Voting at meetings of the Association, each member Class State Association shall be entitled to one (1) vote and one (1) further vote for each complete batch of twenty boats for the time being on the Australian Class Register in relation to that member Class State Association. 11.5 Motions at meetings of the Association shall be resolved by a majority of votes except as provided for in Clause 5.5 of this Constitution. Any motion shall lapse in the case of a deadlock. 11.6 Office Bearers shall not be entitled to vote on any motion at meetings of the Association other than by virtue of being a Delegate of a member Class State Association exercising the vote or votes of such member Class State Association. 11.7 In addition to the Annual Meeting, the Executive Committee may call a Special Meeting of members of the Association whenever it thinks appropriate: 11.7.1 by giving no less than 14 (fourteen) days notice to the members of the Association specifying the date, time and place for such Special Meeting and of the nature of the business proposed to be transacted at the meeting; and 11.7.2 by giving no less than 21 (twenty one) days notice to the members of the Association specifying the date, time and place for such Special Meeting and of the intention to propose a Special Resolution if the nature of the business proposed to be transacted at the meeting requires the passing of a Special Resolution. 11.8 Meetings of the members of the Association may be conducted at 2 or more venues using any technology that gives each of the members of the Association a reasonable opportunity to participate, including without limitation by way of telephone conferencing, video conferencing and electronic or virtual or on-line meeting facilities now known or hereafter developed. 11.9 All notices required to be served or given by or on behalf of the Association to members under this Constitution may be served or given: personally to a member or in the case of a Class State Association to any delegate for the time being of such Class State Association Member; or by fax to such fax number as may have been notified to the Association by a member or in the case of a Class State Association by that Association or any delegate for the time being of such Class State Association member; or by email transmitted to such email address as may have been notified to the Association by a member or in the case of a Class State Association by that Association or any delegate for the time being of such Class State Association member; or by sending the same by post to address of the member shown in the Register of Members of the Association or otherwise notified to the Association from time to time by the member. Notices are deemed given or served: when given if personally; at the time of transmission in the case of a fax where the sending machine records an Okay transmission (except if transmitted outside of normal business hours in New South Constitution and Class Rules 8 Rev 10 - Sep 2015

Wales in which case it is deemed given or served on the next such business day); on the day following transmission if transmitted by email; and 4 (four) days following posting if sent by post. 12. FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS 12.1 The funds of the Association shall be held in a bank account titled Flying Eleven Sailing Association of Australia Incorporated. 12.2 Cheques and/or authorised electronic withdrawals from such account shall be required to be signed or authorised as the case may be by two Office Bearers, one of whom shall be required to be the Hon. Treasurer. 12.3 The financial year of the Association shall be the twelve (12) month period commencing the 1 st of December of each year and ending the 30 th of November in the following year. 13. ALTERATION TO CONSTITUTION AND CLASS RULES The Constitution and Class Rules of the Association may only be amended, repealed or added to in the following manner: 13.1 A written Notice of Motion shall be lodged with the Hon. Secretary setting out the proposed amendment in sufficient detail to enable the same to be considered by members. 13.2 Member Class State Associations may propose such motions and a motion so proposed shall not require a seconder. 13.3 The Executive Committee may propose such motions provided that such motion is seconded by a member Class State Association. 13.4 Within fourteen (14) days of receipt of any Notice of Motion, the Hon. Secretary shall forward copies of the same to member State Class Associations for consideration together with ballot or other voting materials as may be applicable in respect of the motion. 13.5 Each member Class State Association shall have voting rights in relation to notified motions under this Clause in accordance with the provisions of Clause 11.3. 13.6 Member Class State Associations shall be required to indicate their acceptance or otherwise of the notified motion by no later than thirty five (35) days after the date on which the Notice of Motion was circulated and voting papers issued by the Hon. Secretary. 13.7 Failure by any member Class State Association to lodge a vote or votes with the Hon. Secretary by the closing date thereof shall be deemed to be a vote or votes in favour of the notified motion. 13.8 No amendments shall be allowed to Notices of Motion once lodged but a Notice of Motion can be withdrawn by the proposer by written notice to the Hon. Secretary. 13.9 A member Class State Association may only propose an amendment to a Notice of Motion by submitting a further Notice of Motion which shall be dealt with in the manner herein prescribed. 13.10 Notice of Motion, voting papers, associated materials and votes cast may validly be submitted, lodged or circulated by mail or fax or by email. 13.11 Any alteration to the Constitution or Class Rules resolved in accordance with the procedures set out in this Clause shall become effective on the 1 st day of September following the date of the adoption thereof. 14. MEASUREMENT OF BOATS 14.1 Insofar as the Association from time to time issues such certificates, each boat which conforms to the Class Rules as set out in Part B of this Constitution shall be issued with an Association Measurement Certificate. 14.2 Procedures for the measurement and documentation of certification of boats and equipment are set out in the Class Rules. 14.3 The initial Association Measurement Certificate for a boat shall be required to be signed by the relevant member Class State Association Measurer. 14.4 Any subsequent changes or modifications to a boat or part or item thereof shall require the approval and certification of the relevant member Class State Association Measurer. 14.5 Notwithstanding that a boat has a valid and current Association Measurement Certificate, all or any group or category or individual boat may be required to be measured or otherwise vetted against the Class Rules for compliance at any Association race or series. 15. SAILING RULES 15.1 All races conducted by or on behalf of the Association shall be sailed under the current Racing Rules and Safety Regulations of the controlling Yachting Authority of the State in which the event is to be held. 15.2 For all such races, including the Class Australian Championship, the Executive Committee shall in addition specify entry criteria, including without limitation in relation to boat measurement and certification, protest procedures and other requirements of the like in its sole discretion. INTRODUCTION The Flying Eleven Class is a Closed Class Rule (formerly called a One-Design) dinghy for a crew of two. The intention of the class rules is that the boats shall be as alike as possible in all respects affecting speed and ease of handling. Flying Eleven hulls, hull appendages, rigs and sails are measurement controlled. Flying Eleven hulls and masts shall only be manufactured by licensed manufacturers as approved and listed from time to time by the NCA in the class rules referred to as licensed manufacturers. Flying Eleven hull appendages, boom, spinnaker pole and sails may be manufactured by optional builders and suppliers. Class rules may evolve, while the intention is to avoid the use of costly, short-lived, risky or environmentally improper materials. Implementation Previously measured hulls and masts, appendages, boom, spinnaker poles, sails and fittings need not be re-certified or changed if the rules under which they were built are later changed. (Grandfather Rule). It is not possible for class rules to cover every eventuality. In cases where doubt exists regarding the intention of these restrictions, a ruling should be obtained from the NCA Measurer The onus at all times is on the owner and the crew to ensure that their boat complies with these rules. The existence of a measurement certificate is not a guarantee that the boat complies with these rules. Rules regulating the use of equipment during a race are contained in Section C of these class rules, in ERS Part I and in the Racing Rules of Sailing. PART I ADMINISTRATION Section A A.1 LANGUAGE A.1.1 A.1.2 A.1.3 A.1.4 The official language of the class is English and in case of dispute over translation the English text shall prevail. The word shall is mandatory and the word may is permissive. The term "secured" shall mean held in place by positive means. The term "fixed" shall mean held in place with bolts, screws or unable to be removed without tools. Except where used in headings, when a term is printed in bold the definition in the ERS applies and when a term is printed in italics the definition in the RRS applies. At National and State events the notice of race and sailing instructions may vary these class rules only with the agreement of the NCA. In the event of any conflict between this Constitution and the ERS, this Constitution will prevail. Only a measurer officially recognised by an NCA may measure a boat and sign measurement forms or certificates except that sails may also be measured and certified by an In-House Official Measurer. Section B - Nil PART II REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS The crew and the boat shall comply with the rules in Part II when racing. The rules in Part II are closed class rules. Section C Conditions for Racing C.1 GENERAL C.1.1 The ERS Part I -Use of Equipment -shall apply. C.1.2 The function of permitted fittings shall not be added to. C.2 CREW C.2.1 LIMITATIONS The crew shall consist of 2 persons. C.3 SAFETY EQUIPMENT C.3.1 MANDATORY Each crew member shall wear effective personal buoyancy that complies with the relevant Safety Regulations. Boats shall have 38mm diameter, metal tow ring at the bow. Daggerboard and rudder shall be secured so that they cannot detach themselves in the event of a capsize. (d) Floating tow rope with a minimum length of 8m and a minimum diameter of 6mm. (e) Mainsail must be able to be lowered whilst upright on the water. C.4 ADVERTISING C.4.1 LIMITATIONS Advertising shall only be displayed in accordance with the ISAF Advertising Code, Regulation 20. Constitution and Class Rules 15 Rev 10 - Sep 2015

C.5 REMOVABLE EQUIPMENT C.5.1 OPTIONAL (d) One hand bailer or bucket. One paddle. Electronic or mechanical timing devices which may include a compass. If electronic, only compasses with heading, heading memory and timing functions are permitted. [No other electrical or electronic devices except those that may be required by an organiser and the NCA to be carried by boats shall be permitted on board when racing.] Spare parts such as blocks, shackles, ropes, water bottles etc C.6 BOAT C.6.1 C.6.2 WEIGHT The minimum weight of the hull in dry condition is 39 kg. The weight shall be taken with: fixed fittings, jib pulleys, cleats, tracks and control lines for such, spinnaker control lines, mainsheet bridles, fixed storage bags, flaps at transom with control lines, toe straps and inspection covers) corrector weights, rudder box if equipped, but stripped of all loose gear such as sails, spars, hull appendages, rigging, main and jib sheets and all portable equipment. CORRECTOR WEIGHTS When the boat weight is less than the minimum, corrector weights shall be fixed not more than 50mm below the sheerline. Corrector weights shall not total more than 2kgs. C.7 HULL C.7.1 C.7.2 MODIFICATIONS AND MAINTENANCE The hull shell, deck, bulkheads and cockpit floor as supplied by the NCA approved builder shall not be altered in any way except as permitted by these class rules. Routine maintenance such as small repairs, painting, sanding and polishing is permitted without re-measurement and re-certification. If any hull moulding is repaired in any other way than described in C.7.1, an official measurer shall verify on the certificate that the external shape is the same as before the repair and that no substantial increase in stiffness, or other advantage has been gained as a result of the repair. The official measurer shall also describe the details of the repair on the certificate. The daggerboard shall not be shaped or fitted with any device by which it will adjust itself or may be adjusted off-centre or pivot fore and aft. The daggerboard and rudder shall not have any additional appendages attached to them. MEASUREMENT (d) The projection of the daggerboard when fully down, below hull shell, shall be not more than 940mm. The maximum chord width of the daggerboard is 33mm, and maximum horizontal width is 363mm. When the rudder is in it lowest position that part below an extension of the line of the outer skin of the hull at the keel shall be not more than 630mm. The maximum horizontal width of the rudder is 240mm. C.9 RIG C.9.1 MANUFACTURE (d) Masts shall be manufactured by a NCA approved builder. The manufacturer of booms and spinnaker poles is optional. Masts, booms and spinnaker poles may be constructed from any material. Fairings and or rotating masts are not allowed. Routine maintenance such as small repairs, replacing standing rigging, painting, sanding is permitted without re measurement and re certification. C.9.2 ADJUSTMENT The mast rake and or rigging tension shall not be able to be mechanically or otherwise adjusted whilst on the water. C.9.3 MAST FITTINGS MANDATORY (1) A gooseneck. (2) Spinnaker pole fitting(s). (3) A set of fixed or adjustable spreaders with optional attachment systems which may include local reinforcement. C9.5 MAST WEIGHT The minimum weight of a mast including all mandatory fittings is 3.3kg. Underweight masts shall permanently attach a corrector weight on the outside of the spar above the spreaders. C.9.6.2 BOOM DIMENSIONS & DATUM Boom spar cross section including track (if fitted) maximum 90mm One coloured band shall be permanently marked on the boom not less than 13mm in width (boom outer limit mark) the front edge of which must not be more than 2095mm from the rear edge of mast, measured with boom at right angles to the mast. C.9.7 SPINNAKER POLE DIMENSIONS (1) The maximum spinnaker pole length including end fittings, if any, shall be not more than 1900mm. (2) The spinnaker pole spar cross section dimension is optional. (3) The forward bearing point of the brace fitting shall be not more than 1830mm from the front edge of the mast measured at right angles. OPTIONAL (1) Fittings, sheaves, pulleys. (2) Control lines. C.10 SAILS C.10.1 CERTIFICATION (d) The official measurer shall certify mainsails and headsails in the tack and spinnakers in the head and shall sign and date with a certification mark. Sails may be certified without identification on them. Routine maintenance such as sewing, mending and patching is permitted without re-certification. Not more than one mainsail, one jib and one spinnaker shall be used during an event, except when a sail has been lost or damaged beyond repair, in which case the exchange must have permission from the relevant authority. They shall be placed at different heights on the two sides of the sail, those on the starboard side being uppermost. Commercially available legible typefaces are acceptable. Minimum height is 230mm and minimum spacing between characters and the edge of sail is 45mm. The sail numbers shall be black. The Flying Eleven Insignia is blue and made to the pattern and size shown Appendix 1. The Insignia shall be positioned on the mainsail approximately one-third the way up, near the leech. Colour patch is optional. If used, it shall be positioned in approximately the centre of the mainsail. The colour patch shall not occupy an area greater than 1500cm² and its design must have the prior approval of the Registrar, who after approving will register it. The ply fibres shall be of white polyester. Battens shall be made of GRP. The construction shall be: soft sail, single ply sail. The body of the sail shall consist of the same white woven ply throughout except for the panel adjacent to the foot, which may be of a different white woven ply. The sail shall have maximum four batten pockets in the leech. The centreline of the batten pockets shall be spaced 950mm+/- 30mm from the clew, along the leech. The leech shall not extend aft of straight lines between: (1) The aft head point and the intersection of the leech and the upper edge of the nearest batten pocket, (2) The intersection of the leech and the lower edge of a batten pocket and the intersection of the leech and the upper edge of an adjacent batten pocket below, (3) The clew point and the intersection of the leech and the lower edge of the nearest batten pocket.
