North American Futsal Federation Referee Association Policies NAFF Referee Association under the direction of the NAFF Referee Committee shall supervise the training, evaluation and assignments of officials to professional and amateur matches conducted in the NAFF, MLF or JFA. The Major League Futsal assignments shall be made by the NAFF National Referee Assignor with the assistance of regional coordinators. All officials must be certified and registered under the NAFF yearly. Referee Appointments The NAFF National Referee Assignor shall appoint all Referee and Second referees. The state regional associations will provide a list of all Timekeepers and Third referees approved to officiate matches to the regional coordinators who shall make assignments. Referees will be listed according to a criterion set forth by the NAFF National Referee Committee. This is based on experience and evaluations from assessors. Only NAFF National and Regional Referees are eligible for referee and second referee assignments with cases by case exceptions for State Referees for Junior programs. State Referees may be used for third referee assignments and any referee grade is eligible for timekeeper assignments. Referee Fees Referee fees are established by the NAFF National Referee Committee. Travel fees or hotel accommodations for regular season matches may be required if deemed necessary by the NAFF. Hotel rooms for officials are to be paid for by teams which shall be one room per two officials, but in all cases every effort should be made to secure local referees. Hotel Accommodations Hotels will be provided for officials traveling over 100 miles. Must be at a hotel of reasonable standard (3 star or above ie. Marriott, Hilton, Crown Plaza) and shall room two referees. An exception is made if an official of opposite sex who shall be entitled to their own room. 1

All Referee Responsibilities and Duties As per Laws of the Game and submit official report to the NAFF within 24 hours. Arrive 75 minutes prior to lead pregame with referee crew and pregame duties. Pre-Game and Post-Game dress must be trousers and NAFF Referee Polo or trousers, navy blue blazer with NAFF Referee Futsal Logo and button-down shirt and tie. Game uniform is official approved NAFF uniform current NAFF Ref badge. Uniform may include NAFF, AMF, MLF, JFA and referee program sponsor patches. Deal with other issues that may be necessary to ensure proper management of match Submit a report to the NAFF. Additional Details: Media Interviews Everyone from the press may submit up to three questions to the Match Inspector who will review and then give to the referee. The referee will then answer the three questions per reporter. Referee Locker-room Host Team should make every effort to have a locker-room that can be secured with a shower, toilet, chairs and bottled water cold and at room temperature. At minimum, the locker-room must have water and chairs. Officials table Must be a solid table that is draped with MLF and or NAFF Logo banners. No sponsor or team logos may be on the officials table. Clock Game clock must show timer, score, and foul count. Rosters Team rosters must be signed and submitted 50 minutes prior to game start to the Match Inspector. The match inspector will transpose roster and numbers to official scoresheet. Match Scoresheet Check Timekeeper with Match Inspector will check in players to the passes and to the score sheet in team locker-room. Match Balls Game balls will have provided 60 minutes prior to match. The Match Inspector with the Third Referee will inspect balls and meet with ball persons. Ball Persons Host team must provide 2 individuals minimum but 4 are recommended. The minimum age is 14 years old. 4
