When you visit, you ll have the opportunity to watch our trainers working with one of the species we have living here. Then don t miss out on this fun opportunity. Bear Necessities: Grizzly Bear Show Mon., Wed., Fri., Sat., Sun., 2:45 p.m. Rocky Mountain Wild (RMW) grizzly bear viewing area What are the bear necessities for living like a wild grizzly? Emmett and Digger invite you to come by and see what natural behaviors make bears so perfectly adapted for living in their rugged mountain homes. You may even catch some training that allows us to take better care of the bears in their home here at the Zoo.

Take a stroll through our aviary, surrounded by more than 100 free-flight Australian birds - budgies, finches, cockatiels, rosella and princess parrots. Watch as these awesome birds go out for the day and head back to the roost for the night. Construction Keeper Talk Tues, 12:30 p.m. & Thurs., 10 a.m. Entrance to the construction detour pathway (on the way to Primate World ) Learn about the construction process for the new home for hippos and penguins - straight from the construction experts at G.E. Johnson! Each week, a representative from our contractor will talk about the progress, and on the third Thursday of every month, they ll feature a piece of construction equipment on site.

Domestic Goat Encounters Daily, 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Domestic Goats next to The Loft, below RMW Stop by to interact with our domestic goats! You will see how curious and fun these creatures are. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has one of the largest giraffe herds in the U.S., and we can t wait to tell you all about them! Get the inside scoop while our animal care staff share what makes our gorillas and their wild counterparts so special. Come see just how handy they are, as our orangutans share how some of their cool adaptations help them live in the rainforest.
