Thursday 7th December 2017 Dear Parents/Caregivers, Space Teddy has become a legend around our school, as he embodies what we believe in as a school; Respect, Connect and Challenge. To view or download the Family Christmas Songbook for tonight - follow the link to our Latest News...Breaking News.. Space Teddy is back into space! Next Monday the team are launching Space Teddy back into space. This will be a whole school event as we gather on the field. Launching time is tentatively confirmed for 10am. This time Space Teddy is going higher, and aiming to achieve much more. Students from each room have designed and made paper darts and the winning dart from each room will go into space with Space Teddy for an official world record for the longest flight for a paper plane. Our control station back at Forrest Hill will hit the switch to launch these. We would like to invite the school community to come watch the launch on Monday and cross fingers for another spectacular journey from Space Teddy! Children leaving Forrest Hill School If your child will not be returning to Forrest Hill School in 2018, please advise the office so we may remove your child s name from our school roll. Thank you.

Reminder TONIGHT 4.30pm - 6.30pm on the School Field Join us in celebrating the end of another fantastic year at Forrest Hill School. Invite the whole family, bring your own picnic dinner, blankets, deck chairs and sports gear. Enjoy the wonderful singing as each syndicate team performs. There will also be: The PTA Raffle Draw, a special Kapa haka performance and ice cream for sale. Hope to see you all there for the last school community event of 2017!

Last Friday 1 December, we were presented with our prize for winning 3rd place overall in New Zealand for our Garden to Table programme. Andrew from Turners & Growers and Barry Power from Garden to Table Head Office attended the assembly to present the award. This was a huge achievement and one that we are very proud of as the GTT team has worked so hard since starting the programme at the beginning of 2017. All year, the Year 5 students have been learning to grow, harvest, prepare, cook and share food. A huge thank you to Pauline Hall our garden specialist and Danielle Underwood our kitchen specialist. Thank you for your dedication and passion to the GTT team - and thank you Andrew and Barry for our fantastic prizes which I am sure will come in handy!
