Roll-call Presentation of officials Jury Gunars Ikaunieks (LAT) Christian Aebersold (SUI) Mattis Myhre (NOR) Additions & Changes in Bulletin 4 Mayor of Velingrad organizes a reception for representatives of the teams on Tuesday, 6 February at 16:00. Reception will take place in city hall at the assembly point for opening ceremony. One representative per country is invited. M/W 17 numbers in start list will be as follows M17 301-340, W17 341-380, but on number stickers there are numbers 1-40 and 41-80 accordingly! Number stickers are manually amended to make this inconsistency understandable for competitors
WARM-UP & QUARANTINE Warm-up/quarantine area is same for 3rd and 4th February Ski test area during the event - The best place you can find for that purpose inside the warm-up / quarantine area Quarantine deadline on 3 February 11:15, on 4 February 10:30 There is single point of entry to the warm-up / quarantine area. Entry & exit allowed through this point only! No telecommunication devices allowed inside the warm-up / quarantine area from the moment of quarantine deadline! Leave your bag before start at bag drop-off point and pick it up yourself after the finish
Tracks and courses Snow has melted quite significantly during last three days. Some snowless places occured on sprint tracks on the day of model event. These places were manually covered with snow today. All tracks will be groomed in the morning before the race only if there is new snow. Usually temperature is under zero in the morning and grooming doesn t have any effect. Competition tracks are softer than model event tracks because tracks in model event area have been groomed and skied heavily during Bulgarian championships. Wide track 1.5-3.0 m 25 % Track 0.8-1.2 m 75 % Start procedure for sprint relay Leg order: W-M-W-M-W-M Assembly 20 min before start at the entry of warm-up area for entering the arena as one group. (W + M) Maps will be handed out 1 minute before start behind athletes back. Command Maps will be given 15 s before start Start signal for relay will be given by a gunshot No skating at the start until marked line
Changeover and maps Changeover by touching inside the marked area Readout after each changeover Maps are rolled and put in holes of map wall, team number above the map, numbers in decreasing order. Always take the uppermost map! Finish Primary timekeeping system is SIAC chip, secondary timekeeping system is manual push-button Finish is video recorded. In cases of tight finish in sprint relay places are determined when the top of the competitor s front ski boot has passed the clearly marked finish line Punching and controls Controls are located on both sides of the track, both equipped with control flag and SI-station, competitors shall pass between the flags, because SI-stations are directed towards each other SI-air working range is approx 50 cm, punching time 150 ms Do it touch-free! Do not lean on the control poles or bump in to them!!!
