The back shell can be fitted with a delicate mesh or upholstery, providing the starting point for a wide range of versions to choose from. When designing this family of chairs, the design team were focused to ensure that each component contributed to maximum comfort, and thereby to create visually linked structures. The resulting aesthetic spectrum created by the many variants of BUDDY IS3 makes BUDDY IS3 the perfect choice for a range of very different uses and cultural preferences. Sven von Boetticher was born in 1974 and studied Industrial Design at the State Academy of Art and Design in Stuttgart. In 2011 he founded his own design studio, called ID AID. Since then he has been designing furniture, objects and lighting for well-known manufacturers, working with his design team not just on product design, but also in the field of architecture and interior design. He constantly strives to make connections between passion and quality, and also between innovation and sustainability.
