Nancy Dianne Studio of Dance, Ltd. P.O. Box 171 Menomonee Falls, WI 53052-0171 Studio Phone: 251-3940 Home Phone: 538-4399 2018 DANCE CONCERT INFORMATION The following information pertains to the final week of classes which will conclude with the 2018 Dance Concert. This year's performances are scheduled as follows: Saturday s performances will be held on April 21 st at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM and Sunday, April 22 nd at 1:00PM and 6:00PM. All performances will be held at the Sussex Hamilton Fine Arts Center located at W220 N6151 Town Line Road in Sussex (Sussex Hamilton High School). It is a substantial undertaking to prepare for a program of this size. However, with the following simple procedures and everyone's cooperation and understanding, the program will run as smoothly as those in past years. DRESS REHEARSAL SCHEDULE As in the past, Dress Rehearsals will be held the final week of the semester. Accordingly, regularly scheduled classes will not be held during the week of April 16 th as this week will be devoted to rehearsing the order of each section of the program. Please report to the Auditorium at the day and times listed on the attached schedule. In many instances, students may not have to stay the entire length of the rehearsal. As soon as your child's class has performed satisfactorily on stage, they will be excused. Parents are welcome to stay for these rehearsals if they wish. DRESS REHEARSAL HOUSE RULES As part of the contract with the Hamilton Fine Arts Center enabling us the use of the facility, we are obliged to observe and comply with certain House Rules. Please note and comply with these various rules in order to protect our ability to continue to use this fine facility: Coats, Bags and Costumes are not to be brought into the Auditorium Seating Areas. Coat racks will be provided in the Lobby and backstage areas. Please leave these items in these designated areas Food and Beverages of any type are not allowed in the Auditorium. Please use the cafeteria if you wish to eat or drink during the time you are at the dress rehearsals. This includes water bottles. Wheelchairs are only allowed in the ADA designated seating areas. DRESS REHEARSAL PROCEEDURES All students performing in the Saturday 1:00 PM program will be conducting their Dress Rehearsal on Monday, April 16 th. All students performing in the Saturday 6:00PM program will be conducting their Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday, April 17 th. All students performing in the Sunday 1:00PM program will be conducting their Dress Rehearsal on Wednesday, April 18 th and all students performing in the Sunday, 6:00 PM program will be conducting their dress rehearsal on Thursday, April 19 th. Please check the attached schedule carefully for students performing in multiple shows. All Dress Rehearsals are held at the Auditorium and reporting times have been staggered in an attempt to minimize unnecessary waiting time. Students are to be dressed in the required dress code attire including make-up and ready to go on stage at the times indicated on the Dress Rehearsal Schedule attached to this notice. The Dress Rehearsal is very important for technical staging and lighting. Any student not attending the Dress Rehearsal will not be allowed to perform in the Dance Concert. A Dress Rehearsal of this type can be tedious, but is necessary, so please be patient! Parents may video tape and/or take flash pictures at the Dress Rehearsal only. No pictures of any sort will be allowed on the day of the performances as it is distracting to the students and audience, and is a safety hazard to those performing.
Please use the following procedures for the day of the Dress Rehearsal as well as the Performances: 1) Enter the school on the south side use the main theater doors. Pre-School through Advanced Beginning should report to the Chorus Room. Middle School through High School level students should report to the dressing room. There will be signs to assist you in finding these rooms. Change into the proper attire for your first class presentation, find your class and wait for further instructions. 2) On the day of the performance, parents of students performing are asked to leave their child in the designated dressing room; and return for them at the end of the performance. Each of the dressing areas are supervised and no child will be allowed to leave the dressing area during the performances. However, during the Dress Rehearsals, it will be the parents responsibility to dress their own child and have them ready for their stage time. 3) Please have your child's name on all dancewear and shoes. 4) NO gum chewing on stage. 5) No food or drinks are allowed in the Auditorium. If you need to eat, please utilize the cafeteria area. 6) No underwear, bracelets, watches or hanging earrings on stage. 7) For the privacy of all students, NO photos are allowed in the Dressing Rooms 8) As a courtesy to the other guests attending the shows, no one will be allowed to come in or leave the Auditorium until Intermission, SO PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY. 9) Strollers and Baby Carriers are not allowed in the Theatre Seating Areas. Ushers will be happy to assist you in storage of these items during the performance(s). MAKE - UP Make-up is to be worn at both the Dress Rehearsal and the day of the Performance(s). Basically, students need red lipstick, blush (not light color), mascara and eye shadow. Stage lighting tends to drain color, so please remember to apply make-up heavy, using reds and roses rather than pastels. Please keep make-up to a minimum on the very young students. Hair should be kept simple and worn neatly away from the face. No elaborate up-do s or any hair accessories of any kind. Students with medium to long hair must wear hair pulled back in a bun - type style for all types of dance. NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE. Students with short hair should talk to their instructor for advice on a proper hair style. PROGRAM REPORTING SCHEDULE All students should report to their dressing area at least 30 minutes prior to the performance time for their respective shows. There will be a warm up session for all Middle School and High School Ballet, Modern and Jazz students on the stage one hour prior to the performance. Those students should report directly to the stage in warm-up attire. A FINAL NOTE A program such as this is the climax to the student's term of study. Performing helps develop poise and self-confidence which is so much a part of the student's Dance education. With everyone's cooperation, this year's program will be a worthwhile experience for all of the students who will be performing. Thank you. NANCY DIANNE STUDIO OF DANCE, LTD.
