Swimming Tasmania Trophies and Awards (COMMENCING IN THE 2014/15 SEASON) To be eligible for individual trophies as outlined, a swimmer must be a fully paid up registered member of Swimming Tasmania for the whole of the registration year for which the trophy is selected (i.e. October 1 September 30). Events for Club trophies will be held through the year 1 October to 30 September. TROPHY DESCRIPTION SELECTION CRITERIA (SCORING SYTEMS) Jubilee Shield for the Premier Club of the Year Swimmer of the Year - President's Trophy A performance based award recognising the Club that not only has the greatest success at Tasmanian Championship events but also demonstrates commitment through participation. A trophy that will be awarded based solely on performance. 3,2,1 for placing from first to third at Tasmanian Championship Events and one point awarded per swimmer who participates in Swimming Tasmania Time Trials. The recipient of this award will be selected upon: Selection in an Australian Team; International Performance; or Gold, silver or Bronze at an Australian Open or Age Group Championship If two or more swimmers meet this criteria FINA Points will be used to identify the highest ranked swimmer. Separate male and female awards will not be awarded for this award category.

Special Achievement Awards - President's Awards Age Group Swimmers of the Year: 11 Years 12 Years 13 Years 14 Years 15 Years 16 Years 17 Years 18 Years Swimmer of the Year with a Classified Disability Melissa Carlton Trophy Two trophies that will be awarded based solely on performance. The Junior Swimmer of the Year will be a swimmer aged 13 or under. Awarded to the swimmer who achieves the highest level for the following criteria: Representation in an Australian Multi Class Team Any other category where a swimmer represents Australian in the sport of swimming Awarded to the male and female swimmer gaining the highest points score in each age group category. Awarded to the male and female swimmer with a classified disability. The recipients, one male and one female, of this award will be selected upon: Gold, silver or Bronze at an Australian Open or Age Group Championship If two or more swimmers meet this criteria FINA Points will be used to identify the highest ranked swimmer. This award may have more than one recipient. These awards will be based on the FINA Points Score in a single event at any Tasmanian Long Course Championships. The Swimmers age shall be that as at the first day of the Tasmanian Age Championships. These awards will be based upon IPS Scores for the best single event at any Tasmanian Long Course Championship.
Trophies that recognise high achievement by individuals in all strokes and distances Awarded to a male and female swimmer who achieves the highest points score in a single event in: Butterfly Backstroke Breaststroke Freestyle (up to 400m) Freestyle (distance 800m or 1500m) Individual Medley Open Water (5km or 10km) These awards will be based on the FINA Points Score in a single event at any Tasmanian Long Course or Tasmanian Short Course Championships. Open Water will be based on the Tasmanian Open Water Championships. Swimmers Swimmer of the Year The Swimmers Swimmer of the Year will be an individual who has achieved a high standard of performance during the period of 1st October to 30th September in the year under consideration. The following criteria applies for Swimmers Swimmer of the Year to be considered for this award: Achieved National Open of a National Age standard time during the defined period Contribution to the swimmer community either at National or State level Participation at Club level Overall contribution to swimming in Tasmania This award is to be voted for by those swimmers who have are in the Gold, Silver or Bronze Development Squads for the year in consideration. Note: Swimming TAS will send out voting nomination forms to those swimmers who are eligible to vote for this category.
