About Bribie Island Population: 20,000 & a further 1,000 visitors on weekends & holidays. As one of only two islands in Queensland connected to the mainland by bridge, Bribie Island projects a carefree community feel with a combination of calm bay beaches and surf beaches ideal for either a leisurely swim or surfing safari. Bribie makes for a gorgeous island escape and is popular with nature lovers, water sport enthusiasts and families alike. Here are a few favourite things to do and see: Pumicestone Passage Pumicestone Passage is a protected marine park and safe haven for wildlife, running as a 35km channel between Bribie Island and the Caboolture coastline. A popular location for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers, visitors can take a guided kayak tour, wind or kitesurf, go bird watching, pump for yabbies or simply watch the magic of a sunset over the Glasshouse Mountains. Bribie s beaches Boasting a long stretch of surf shoreline and a calm protected coastline, Bribie offers the best of both worlds for beach lovers. For surfside fun and access to long, white sandy stretches of four-wheel driving areas, head to the popular Woorim Beach on the eastern side of the island. On the protected western side, the beaches at Bongaree and Bellara are both favoured spots for families. With barbecues, picnic facilities, play areas for the kids and calm swimming spots, they make the ideal destination for a day out with family and friends. About the business Cash $28,000 + Trade $7,000 neg Located on popular Woorim Beach, this business has the potential to attract three separate income streams. The front section is retail: boho and beach style clothing, bookshop, gifts, healing crystals and crystal jewellery. There is only one other gift shop and it s located on the other side of the island. There is a space set up for workshops which can be rented to workshop facilitators or you could run your own groups and classes. There is also a second smaller room which can be sublet for massage, therapy, healing or psychic readers. Alternatively it could be used as an office. Locals can enjoy meditation, yoga, writing groups, personal, spiritual, creative and/or business development classes. The centre of the building adjoining the shop is a kitchen which could easily be converted to an espresso and juice bar. This was the second stage of my business plan but due to health reasons I m unable to complete the project. This is a reluctant and urgent sale and priced accordingly. The shop and location are amazing, but due to a failed hip replacement and further surgery needed, I m unable to sit, stand or walk for any length of time and can t continue with the opening of this business. All you need do is give it a name and open the doors. Alternatively you could move it all to another location, but this spot is on a park and by the beach, with very low overheads, it s perfect. On weekends Woorim is swamped by tourists and visitors. Locals have been waiting for the shop to open and I ve received amazing response. People poking notes under the doors, leaving phone numbers with other businesses asking to call them when the shop opens. They ve been waiting in anticipation for an opening, and as they keep saying. There s nothing like this on Bribie! Overheads are low at $295/week inc GST and all outgoings. The owner is happy to transfer the lease and/or extend to whatever suits the new occupant.
