LSU: LSU is 18-8 overall on the season and 13-4 in the SEC after defeating Missouri and Auburn over the weekend. It was the team s final two home matches of the season, finishing the year winning its final seven in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Tigers have won at least seven matches at home for the second consecutive year and fourth time in the last five seasons. The 13 conference wins is the most in the last two seasons, and the most since the 2010 team won 16 that season. It s only the 11th time in program history that an LSU team has won double-digit league games. LSU earned the season sweep of Missouri in a 3-1 win last Friday, the first time the team has done that in program history. The win over Auburn snapped a two-match losing skid in a 3-0 win. All five sweeps LSU has earned has come in conference action. The Tigers hold a 5-1 record in three-set matches on the season. The team is a combined 13-7 in matching going longer than three sets. The Tigers only hit.225 against both teams last weekend, but held the pair to a.096 combined hitting clip. LSU has held three of their last four opponents to below.100 in a match. LSU has held its last six opponents below a.200 clip. The Tigers are hitting five points better in conference play (.243) than they are overall on the season (.238). LSU has earned more kills than their opponents in 13 of the last 14 matches overall, finishing tied with the 14th team in one match. LSU has finished with fewer attacking errors in six of their last seven matches. The team took the first set off of each team, improving to 12-1 when taking the opening salvo. When going up 2-0 in the intermission break as LSU did on the weekend, the squad is a perfect 7-0 on the year. Even when leading 2-1 the Tigers are still tough holding a 10-0 record. LSU is a combined 17-2 when hitting 200 or better in matches this year. The Tigers have earned more digs than their Team Notes last seven opponents. LSU has out-blocked three of their last five opponents. LSU committed just one service error on Sunday, the lowest amount the team has had in a single match in the season. Briana Holman led the squad with 26 kills and 3.71 kills per set, averaging.365 offensively. Holman also led the team with 1.43 blocks per set with 10 in two matches. Cati Leak finished second with 21, averaging 3.00 kills per set and 3.29 digs per set. Malorie Pardo had 79 assists, averaging 11.29 per set, while averaging 2.00 digs per set and 1.00 blocks per set. Pardo nearly averaged a service ace per set, leading the squad with five. Mimi Eugene set a new career high in digs with 15 on Sunday, as she finished second on the team in the week in digs averaging 4.00 per set. Eugene had two service aces on Sunday, as she has at least two in five of the last eight. Emily Ehrle averaged 1.29 blocks per set, finishing with nine on the week. Haley Smith averaged 6.00 digs per set, leading the team with 42 on the week. Smith had 13 digs in second set alone against Auburn. Ole Miss: Ole Miss split a pair of matches this weekend, dropping a 3-1 decision to No. 6 Florida and defeating Alabama 3-2, both at home. The Rebels handed Florida just their fourth dropped set in SEC play this year. Junior Nakeyta Clair set the single season record for kills (337) with 9 against Florida. The Rebels swept the season series against Alabama with another five-setter and have now won six of the last nine meetings. Ole Miss improved to 3-2 in five-set matches this season. Sophomore Melanie Crow set the single season record for aces (35) with a career-high five in the win over Alabama. She also led the Rebels with 33 kills on the weekend. The Rebels are one win away from equaling the most home wins in a season (12). The Rebels improved to 18-2 overall and 6-2 in the SEC when hitting above.200. The Rebels continue their four-match homestand with Georgia Wednesday at 6 p.m. followed by Texas A&M Friday at 4 p.m. Mississippi State: With the season winding down, the Mississippi State Bulldogs (7-24, 2-14 SEC) capped their final full weekend of the season with a road trip to Athens and a Sunday home contest against No. 15 Kentucky. MSU fell in a tight 3-1 contest against the UGA Bulldogs on Friday despite a career performance from junior Alex Warren. Warren paced the best individual offensive performance of the season for the Maroon and White, tallying 21 kills and 21 points, both career highs. Warren also turned in six digs, which tied a career high. State would fall in Friday s opening set, but fired back in the second to tie the match at one-all. However, MSU could not capitalize in the remaining two sets, falling 3-1. State faced a tall task on Sunday with No. 15 Kentucky, falling in straight sets. Led by eight kills from Chelsea Duhs and 21 assists from Shelby Anderton, the Bulldogs were unable to find their footing until the final set, where they fell in a tight 25-22 contest. The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 26, for the home finale against the Texas A&M Aggies at 7 p.m. CT. MSU 4

will close out the season on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Auburn at noon. Both matches will be on the SEC Network +. Missouri: Mizzou dropped a 3-1 (19-25, 17-25, 25-21, 12-25) match to LSU on Friday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Carly Kan racked up 13 kills and 12 digs to secure her SECleading 18th double-double of the season. Emily Thater added 10 kills and tied her season-best with eight blocks. Defensively, Sarah Meister battled against a talented crop of LSU hitters. The senior libero tallied a career-high 30 digs on Friday. Mizzou then fell to 3-0 (15-25, 17-25, 12-25) to Texas A&M on Sunday afternoon at Reed Arena. The duo of freshmen reserves Reuter and Julia Towler posted six kills apiece off the bench. Seniors Whitney Little and Emily Wilson each added a team-high four total blocks. The Tigers will wrap up the 2014 regular season schedule Wednesday at the Hearnes Center against Alabama. First serve is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT. Meister, Wilson and Little will be honored on Senior Night as the trio plays the final home game of their careers. South Carolina: The Gamecocks went 2-0 on the week, winning in five sets at Tennessee and claiming a 3-1 victory at Georgia. Carolina is now 17-12 on the season and 7-9 in the SEC. The seven conference wins are the most under head coach Scott Swanson and the most since going 12-8 in 2008. The win at Georgia was the Gamecocks sixth road win this season, which is Carolina s most since recording seven in 2002. Junior middle blocker Darian Dozier led the way offensively as she averaged 3.22 kills per set while hitting.397 in the two matches. Dozier recorded a seasonhigh 15 kills at Tennessee and then tallied 14 kills while hitting.444 at Georgia. Senior libero Mikaela Christiaansen averaged 6.11 digs per set on the week. She recorded a career-high 33 digs at Georgia, which is a school record for a four-set match and is also the most digs in a conference match this season. Junior Sarah Blomgren matched her career high with 17 kills while hitting.400 at Georgia. The win at Georgia is Carolina s first in Athens since a 3-0 win on Oct. 16, 2009. The Gamecocks will be back in action on Wednesday at Florida. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Tennessee: Tennessee (8-22, 1-15 SEC) played only its third fiveset match of the season in its lone contest last week, suffering a tight 3-2 loss at home to South Carolina. The Lady Vols got a trio of double-doubles and had three players finish with 10 or more kills for just the third time this year, but it wasn t enough to stop the Gamecocks, who ended the match with a.450 hitting percentage in the decisive set. Sophomore Ashley Mariani and freshman Kanisha Jimenez each tied career-highs in kills on their way to their respective double-doubles. Mariani had 18 kills in the contest to go along with 10 digs while Jimenez notched 13 kills and 13 digs. Kendra Turner s 12 kills rounded out UT s double-digit kill performances and the third double-double of the evening came from setter Lexi Dempsey, who turned in 27 assists and 12 digs. Other Team Notes 5 notable performances from the South Carolina match included: setter Taylor Johnson s 20 assists, libero Megan Hatcher s 21 digs, and middle blocker Raina Hembry s six total blocks. Turner became the first Tennessee player to eclipse 200 kills for the season on Wednesday, upping her season total to 207. She also leads the squad in kills per set at 2.72, a figure that ranks 17th in the SEC. Dempsey remains in the top 10 of the conference s assist leaders, holding the No. 9 spot at 8.09 per set. While Bridgette Villano still paces the squad with 317 total digs, Hatcher has now taken over the team lead in digs per set at 3.07. She ranks 11th in the SEC in that category. This week, Tennessee wraps up the regular season with matches against Arkansas and Alabama. UT hosts the Razorbacks on Wednesday night on the SEC Network and the Lady Vols will honor the career of their lone senior, middle blocker, Shealyn Kolosky prior to the start of the match. From there, Tennessee makes the trip to Tuscaloosa for the season finale on Saturday. UT fell at Arkansas earlier this season by a 3-0 score line and dropped a 3-1 decision to Alabama at home. Texas A&M: Texas A&M went 2-0 last week and extended its winning streak to four matches, marking its longest winning streak in SEC play this season. The Aggies moved to 11-5 in conference matches, surpassing their number of wins last year and climbing to fourth place in the league standings. A&M improved to 19-8 overall and needs one win in its final two matches to reach the 20-win milestone for the third time in four years and for the 15th time in Laurie Corbelli s 22-year tenure as head coach of the Aggies. Sophomore middle blocker Jazzmin Babers, who leads the league with a.459 hitting percentage in SEC matches, continued on her torrid pace last week, hitting a career-high.765 with a team-high 13 kills without an error in the Aggies 3-1 victory at Arkansas. It marked the fourth time this season Babers posted double-digit kills without an error. She hit.412 and was one of three A&M players to post 10 kills in the 3-0 win against Missouri as the Aggies closed out their home schedule and completed the season series sweep against the Tigers. Freshman setter Stephanie Aiple, who leads all freshmen setters and is fifth in the league with 10.76 assists per set for the full season, directed the A&M offense to back-to-back.330-plus hitting percentages and a combined.339 for the week. She had 37 assists against Missouri to surpass 1,000 assists, and she also had 10 digs to post her teamleading seventh double-double of the season. Texas A&M closes out the regular season this week with a pair of road matches, facing Mississippi State, Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Newell-Grissom Building in Starkville and Ole Miss, Friday at 4 p.m. at the Gillom Sports Center in Oxford. A&M is a combined 11-0 in the all-time series against both Mississippi schools.
