RFC currently has 22 teams catering for male and female players aged 4-18. RFC is a partner club of Global Premier Soccer. GPS is one of the largest soccer organizations in the United States, currently active in 21 States across the country and is the official North American Youth Partner of FC Bayern Munich. FC Bayern Munich is one of the biggest and most successful professional clubs in world soccer and has a proven track record of developing world-class players and competing in the highest echelons of world football. GPS-New York currently has four regions- Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany. Who We Are As a club we aim to inspire, teach and enhance each athlete s ability to love soccer. Aspire for excellence in academics and citizenship and use inherent characteristics and attitudes to contribute responsibly, respectfully and confidently as a team member. All Rochester FC staff, athletes, volunteers and family members will reflect our core values in words and actions. What We Do The RFC Player Development Pyramid shows the player pathway of how players progress through the Club: Why We Are Different At RFC we pride ourselves on our professionalism, the care we show to our players and our families, and the respect afforded to each and every player who enters the RFC Family. We want each player to enjoy their time with the club, be challenged in a positive coaching environment and improve themselves as players and as people as they progress through the RFC player development pathway.

New US Soccer youth initiatives to improve player development In August 2015 US Soccer (USSF) introduced new initiatives that will impact all levels of youth soccer across the country. These initiatives will be rolled out across GPS starting Fall 2016. The two key initiatives that will be introduced are: Birth year registration (January 1st cut off) Standardization of Small-sided games These changes are aimed to align the whole country in a consistent approach and provide an age appropriate environment for long term player development. This will apply to all age groups from U6 and older. The change to birth year registration will align with the rest of the world. Standardization of Small-Sided Games 2009/2010: 4v4 No offsides, no goalkeeper. 30x20 yards field 2007/2008: 7v7 With goalkeeper and offside rule in place 2006/2005: 9v9 Field size approx 1/2 size of full 11v11 field. The final transition before 11v11 play 2004+ 11v11 Full field

RFC LITTLE LIONS The RFC Little Lions Program teaches the fundamentals of soccer using a fun and energetic curriculum that has been tailored to work with 5-8 year olds. Our curriculum also facilitates the development of motor and coordination skills. All sessions are held in a fun and positive environment, where players are encouraged to play with a smile on their face. RFC ACADEMY The RFC Academy, birth years 2010-2007, is focused on player development by providing them the opportunity to express themselves in both practice and a game environments in a year round program. Players train twice a week in technically focused sessions. Through the Fall all Academy teams play in the GPS-NY Early Development league. In the spring our U8-U10s play in the RDYSL. The teams will also take part in scrimmages and select tournaments throughout the season. JUNIOR PREMIER PROGRAM The Junior Premier Program provides year round training and games for birth years 2006-2005 (U11-U12). Our emphasis is playercentric with development the number one priority. We focus on the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of individual players on a pathway towards maximizing their full potential. All junior premier teams play in the EDL in the Fall and Thruway League plus select tournaments in the spring. PREMIER PROGRAM The Premier Program program provides year round opportunities for birth year 2004 players, with 2003+ joining up with RFC once they complete their High School season. All Premier teams play in NYW Thruway League and State cup. Some teams also participate in Region 1 Champions League. All teams will play in tournaments throughout the season both in NY and out of state if desired. GPS FC BAYERN NATIONAL TEAM The GPS FC Bayern National team program identifies players boys and girls from birth years 2006-2002 and is comprised of a training and game component that is specific for each age group. Players are invited to attend GPS FC Bayern National team training centers based on recommendations from their regional team coaches. This program gives our very best players at the club the opportunity to play at the highest level.

RFC Little Lions : 5-8 year olds The RFC Little Lions program is the first step onto the Rochester Futbol Club ladder for our younger players. The program teaches the fundamentals of soccer using a fun and energetic curriculum that has been tailored to work with 5-8 year olds. Our curriculum also facilitates the development of motor and coordination skills. All sessions are held in a FUN and positive environment, where players are encouraged to play with a smile on their face. Our Little Lions practice sessions all last one hour each and are held once a week for a 6 week period. RFC will hold Little Lions programs in the Fall (indoor), Winter (indoor), Spring (indoor) and Summer (outdoor) seasons. The Little Lions program is at the base of the RFC pyramid and is a vital component to our players development. It is our vision that Little Lions players will progress in the RFC Academy at U7/U8 and into our Premier Team program at U11. All Little Lions sessions will be held with the main objective for our younger players to have fun! But at the same time learn and develop as young soccer players by developing an understanding for basic ball mastery and techniques and key principles of the game. All practices will be structured to involve fun games working on our players agility, balance and co-ordination and at the same time implementing a soccer ball ending every practice with scrimmages/small sided games. RFC Academy- U7 - U10 Teams- (2010 2007 Birth Year) The RFC Academy is the next stage on the RFC Player development pathway and is a true year round program. It is open to boys and girls who have a passion for Soccer and are looking to develop in a fast paced energetic and fun environment. Our Academy program is focused upon Player Development. Curriculum content focuses upon ball mastery and technical qualities encouraging our players to be comfortable, creative and confident on the ball. Our coaches follow a specific curriculum to provide consistency in each session. Throughout the season all teams practice twice per week. In the Fall they participate in the Early Development League. The EDL is an internal team-based program that offers games for our younger players in a controlled environment. The EDL is run by GPS-NY and was first introduced in the Fall of 2015. GPS-NY, RFC and Delaware socccer club teams from U8-U12 took part in 4 jamboree style days through September- October 2015. The EDL operates each Fall season and will see a further expansion of teams in 2016. Through the winter our teams will take part in bi-weekly scrimmages and select indoor tournaments. In the spring our U8s and older will particpate in the RDYSL with games taking place May-July. Teams will also take part in 3 tournaments each year, one in the Fall and two in the spring season.

The RFC Premier Program: Introduction The Rochester Futbol Club Premier program is for young players who aspire to achieve excellence in their game. Our emphasis is player-centric with development the number one priority. We focus on the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of players on a pathway towards maximizing their full potential. The winning tradition that has been established over the past 19 years is based on each player improving significantly over the time they are with the club. All players will conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the RFC Premier Team player code of conduct and all players will be treated as equals. The RFC Coaching staff will be coaches of positive significance in our players lives. Our coaches will inspire and motivate our players in an atmosphere of respect and honesty versus fear and intimidation and players will be encouraged to think for themselves. Success is achieved through building good habits and having players be accountable for their own development. Our Premier Program is divided two distinct phases Junior Premier Program: 2005-2006 Premier Program: 1998-2004 RFC Junior Premier Program: 2006 2005 Birth Year The RFC Junior Premier Program has a tailored curriculum that will provide players with a fun, energetic and competitive environment focused on individual player development while learning the RFC style of play. The Junior Premier program is year round with teams practicing twice per week throughout the Fall (Outdoor Sept-Oct), three times per week in winter (Indoor Nov-April) and twice per week in the Spring (outdoor May -June). All teams will play in Thruway League, State Cup (u12 only) plus three additional tournaments. In the Fall season the U11 and U12 teams participate in the GPS-NY Early Development League with 4 jamboree days taking place in September and October (9v9). Teams may also play in Thanksgiving tournaments to end the Fall season. Our younger teams also play in the Rochester Winter Indoor leagues to provide valuable games throughout the winter months. Teams begin playing outside in March/April with pre-season tournaments and games being held in Massachusetts and New York. Our Junior premier teams also have the option of playing RDYSL to provide additional games in addition to the Thruway league.

RFC Premier Program: 2004 1998 Birth Year The Premier program provides year round opportunities for 2004s who are still too young to play Modified or JV soccer. For 1998-2003s they will join up with RFC once they complete the High School season. The Premier program is for players with a passion for soccer who are aiming to maximize their development and strive to achieve their highest potential. Our teams will compete in the Thruway league with some teams also playing in the Region 1 Champions League, plus State, Regional, National and international events depending on the level of the team. The premier program provides curriculum based on the four pillars of the game - technical, tactical, physical and psychological. All teams will practice three times per week in the winter (Nov-April) and twice per week in the Spring (may-june). Teams will compete in Thruway league, State Cup and other tournaments throughout the season. These tournaments can be held around Thanksgiving to end the Fall season, March/April pre-season tournaments and Summer events. Our U15-U18 teams will also have the opportunity to attend college showcase events to have exposure to potential schools and college coaches.

GPS FC Bayern National Team: 2002 2006 The GPS FC Bayern National Team program identifies players boys and girls who have excelled with each GPS Premier Program across the country. Players are invited by their Director of Coaching and Head Coach to attend various GPS FC Bayern National Team Training Centers across the country. Based on their performance players are selected to represent the National team program at some of the most prestigious youth events both locally, nationally and internationally. The GPS FC Bayern National team program provides the opportunity for our best regional players to come together and play at an even higher level with similar quality players. The National team program have entered teams this season into the Super Cup NI (formerly Milk Cup, N.Ireland), Dallas Cup, USA, Mediterenean International Cup, Spain and Gothia Cup, Sweden. These events give our best players and coaches the exposure to some of the best quality teams and youth players in the world by attending the more high profile events. Rochester Futbol Club Style of Play Style of Play Confident RFC teams are built up of confident players. This confidence is created with self belief, hard work, repetition and team camaraderie - all created in a positive coaching environment. Build from the back RFC teams always look to build attacks from the back as opposed to playing kick and run soccer. Positive Possession RFC teams play an indirect style of soccer but have an awareness of the most appropriate penetrating pass. Attack-Minded RFC teams play the game with flair and creativity. Physicality (Explosive) RFC teams excel in the physical element of the game - exhibiting pace and power. RFC teams are hard working, hard in the tackle but always play within the laws of the game. Defensive Pressure RFC teams understand how and when to apply pressure in order to regain possession of the ball. Proactive (Smart) RFC teams are soccer smart. Players are students of the game and are able to make adjustments based on what they see.
