General regulations: All participating horses have to come from a healthy stock and need an equine passport. Horses that are from outside the netherlands need a health certificate from the veterinary office. The minimum age for the competing horses is 1 year for In Hand classes and 3 years for Riding classes. Horseshoes with spikes or studs are not allowed to compete, because they can damage the wooden obstacles. There is no claim on financial refund if a horse is not allowed to start because of spikes/studs. A rider s meeting is held each day. It is obligatory for all participants competing that day. No rider is allowed to ride double or bareback. Except for the Sit A Dollar class. No horse is allowed to start 2 times in the same class. Kids and youth under 18 have to wear a helmet. During the whole show the judges are authorized to ask for removal or alteration of any piece of equipment or which is unsafe, or in his/her opinion, would tend to give a horse an unfair advantage or which he/she believes to be inhumane. Stallions are not allowed in Novice or Youth classes. The show is judged by the standards of IMTCA. Assessment for the High Point Challenge: For the different High Point Champion titles, the scores of all 3 IMTCA Challenges in 2017 will be added up (2 at Extreme Trail Pauwels, 1 at Horseman Days. The following classes count: Youth, Novice, Adult and Open In Hand and Riding. Results of Special- and Fun classes do not count for the Champion titles The Overall High Point Champion is determined despite the division. Divisions: Youth participants from age 6 to 18. Novice - start in the challenge world. The beginners are competing here until they won 3 classes. They stay in this division for a maximum of 2 years. Adult - participants 18 and older that are not working as trainers Open ALL trainers and teachers. Everyone who gives lessons or has a trainer certification.
The different levels: Level 1 Walk only. Basic maneuvers and technics that are easy to explain. Crossing obstacles, it can be asked for a stop, backing up a few steps or sidepassing a few steps. Level 2 Walk and trot/jog or gait between the obstacles. More complex maneuvers and 180 turns. Level 3 Walk, trot/jog/gait and canter between the obstacles. It can also be asked for 360 turns and complex combinations of maneuvers. Example: Riding to the center of the suspension bridge, stop, 180 turn and backing off.
Special classes: Leadline: In Leadline even the small kids can show off. The participants are led by another person. This class is for kids from 4 to 10 years and participants with mental or physical disabilities. Young Horses: This class is for horses that are not under saddle yet. The age of competing horses can range between 1 and 3 years. A horse that is shown in this class cannot be shown under saddle in any other class. Mini: In this class ponies up to 120cm height can be shown. The obstacles in this class are adapted to the ponies size and abilities.
Fun classes: Team Challenge: Two participants build one team. The obstacles can be divided between them but each team partner needs to solve the same amount of obstacles. The participants decide if they want to show their horse under saddle or in hand, but they have to stay with that decision and can t switch during their run. In this fun class it s hoped for an outfit or costume fitting the team name. Sit A Dollar: In Sit A Dollar the participants ride BAREBACK without saddle or saddle blankets. Each participant is handed a dollar note to sit on. Who looses the dollar is knocked out at that point of the pattern. The winner is whoever could collect the highest score in their run. Each missing obstacle will bring a -9 deduct. Bridleless Class: In this class horse and rider will face a pattern at level 1 of difficulty. Allowed equipment are neckstring or a riding crop. Poker Game: The Poker Game is a special fun class! Here you choose the obstacles! There is a list with elements/maneuvers that have to be part of your performance. The patterns for your run need to be sent in 2 weeks before the event.

The final timetable will be set up after the closing date for application. High Point classes are marked with * Das Riders Meeting is obligatory for all participants. You can loose your start authorization when missing it.
Stalls: During the Horseman Days you can get a stall for your horse. Stalls cost 119,00 incl. 19% tax. Included in the costs are also 2 bales of shavings. You can buy hay on site. You need to bring your own water and feed buckets and also your own grain. Arrival is already possible on Thursday. There is no possibility to build paddocks for horses. Whoever needs a stall should book it with the application. You can book your stall until May 15th. Parking lots for horsetrailers: On the grounds are enough places to park your trailers. They will be signposted. Of course trailer parking is free. Parking for caravans: There are pitches with water and electricity to the price of 113,05 incl. 19% tax per pitch. The registration for caravan parking should be done with the application for the show.
Preparation and lessons: There s a possibility for participants to take lessons on the course during the first day of the expo. 13:00 to 18:30 30min 22,50 incl. MwSt. 60min - 45 incl.
