PRESENTATION The Baseball and Softball League of Brittany invites you to the U12 and U15 Breizh Baseball Summer Challenge. To be held from the 30th August to the 1St September (inclusive) this international opportunity will bring together both league and international teams. ACCOMADATION AND CATERING Each team will be independent in their choice of lodgings. The possibilities are : - Chain Hotels at St. Jacques or at Le Rheu: 15 minutes drive from Bréal and only 10 minutes from the baseball ground in Rennes. - Camping des Gayeulles (Rennes): 5 minutes drive from the baseball ground in Rennes and 25 minutes from Bréal. - Camping de Paimpont: 20 minutes drive from Bréal.- Une solution de camping gratuit sera peut être proposée sur le site de Bréal. International teams could equally be lodged in host families if they so wished. Catering - All meals will be arranged by the organizers, with the exception of the Wednesday evening for teams arriving the day before the event. If teams indicate their wish to have a prepared meal on the Wednesday night, the organizers might be able to arrange this. PACKAGES AVAILABLE A 750 package is available for a team of up to 15 people. (13 players and 2 coaches i.e. 50 per person). This package includes all 3 breakfasts and lunches as well as 2 evening meals. A 5packed lunch is also available for your return journey on the Saturday night. The cost of the package is 50 per any additional person. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Each team must be composed of the best players within their league. As far as foreign teams are concerned coaches can select their teams within the geographical area they feel is most appropriate. Teams who wish to enroll must do so by the 25th June 2012. A 500 deposit must be paid by cheque by this time to confirm their enrollment. PROGRAMME All teams must be at the allocated baseball field for their age group at 10 o clock on Thursday 30th August. (Under 12 in Bréal and Under 1s in Rennes). The end of the tournament is scheduled for 4pm on Saturday 1st September. GAMES SCHEDULE The planning of games will be dependent upon the number of teams enrolled in the tournament. CATERING Both midday and evening meals will be provided by an outside caterer. We will endeavour to include in the proposed menus a taste of Breton cuisine. Originally conceived in order to give foreign teams the opportunity to play in Brittany, this concept of playing away combined with the discovery of our region could without doubt equally seduce French teams from other faraway regions. We suggest a visit to St. Malo which ranks amongst the most famous coastal Pirate towns in Brittany, or you can also visit the historic town of Dinard (1 hour s drive). A stone s throw away from there you will also find the famous Mont St. Michel (1hour 30 minutes drive). Or let yourself be seduced by the picturesque scenery offered by the Breton coastline (Cap Fréhel: 1 hour s drive) DISCOVERY PACKAGE To discover the region, on Wednesday 29th August, we offer you an all-inclusive package of 35 per person.
