1. LOCAL INFORMATION MADRID Madrid, the capital of Spain, is a cosmopolitan city that combines the most modern infrastructures and the status as an economic, financial, administrative and service center, with a large cultural and artistic heritage, a legacy of centuries of exciting history. Madrid s extensive and beautifully maintained parks and gardens like the Retiro Park, formerly the recreational estate to the Spanish monarchs, the Casa de Campo and the Juan Carlos I park offer inhabitants and visitors the chance to enjoy the sunshine, stroll, row on its lakes or feed the squirrels, in one of the greenest capitals in Europe. But if there s one thing that sets Madrid apart, it must be its deep and infectious passion for life that finds its outlet in the friendly and open character of its inhabitants. Concerts, exhibitions, ballets, a delightful theatrical offer, the latest film releases, the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of the best Spanish and international gastronomy, to taste the charms of its bars and taverns... all these are just a few of the leisure options offered in Madrid. Electricity The local current is 220 volt AC, all over Spain. It is recommended to bring a plug adapter in case of the different connections. Two-pin plug insert is used in Spain. 2. DATE AND VENUE International Indoor Combined Events Match between Spain- Czech Republic France Great Britain & NI Poland will take place in Madrid on 27 and 28 January 2018 in the match lndoor Combined Events will take place at C.D..M., Gallur (address Angel Sainz Briz Madrid). The capacity of the Stadium is about 3000 seats. The hall is equipped with: 8 lines in straight track, 6 lines in oval track 200 m 2 High jump sites 2 Pole vaults sites 2 runways for Long jump 1 Shot put circle The surface is Mondo 2

EVENTS & PARTICIPANTS Events Men U20: Heptathlon Athletes born in 1999 and after Women U20: Pentathlon Athletes born in 1999 and after Men: Heptathlon Athletes born in 2000 and older of which 1 athlete should be U23 Women: Pentathlon Athletes born in 2000 and older of which 1 athlete should be U23 Participants Men/Women: 4 of each gender of which 1 athlete U23 men and women should compete Men U20/Women U20: 3 athletes of each gender According to the signed contract the team may consist of maximum 14 Athletes and 6 Officials in quota whose full board accommodation expenses are covered by organizer for 3 nights. Transport and insurance expenses are each federation responsibility. Any extra person or nights must be cover by each Member federation. Competitors must wear the Federation s official team clothing. 3

TRANSPORTATION The official airport is Madrid Barajas Adolfo Suarez Website: http://www.aeropuertos.net/aeropuerto-de-madrid/ IATA Code: MAD Distance to the Venue: 22, 4 km (24 minutes by bus) Distance to the Hotel: 35 km (29 minutes by bus) Local Transportation Upon your arrival at the airport, you will find a person of the local organization to guide you to the bus to transfer to the official hotel. Delegations must be responsible for their own baggage while in the airport. We will waiting for you according to the information that you sent us on the final entries. Please check each day timetables at the hotel in order to ensure your transportation service. Return to Airport Transport will be arranged according to the flight schedules submitted by the teams. Further information will be available from the hotel information desk. Transportation of Equipment The LOC will provide transport for the delivery of vaulting poles. Upon arrival to the airport athletes are responsible for taking their vaulting poles to the welcome desk, where LOC team members will assist. Vaulting poles must be clearly marked with name and country signs to ensure that they do not get lost. Vaulting poles will then be transported to the training site/competition venue C.D.M. Gallur by the LOC, which will provide a lorry for this service. After the competitions, vaulting poles of the teams leaving by air will be transported directly from the stadium to the respective airport. ACCOMMODATION & HOTEL INFORMATION Every team will have to distribute the athletes and officials in 9 twin rooms and 2 Individual rooms. Hotel Eurostars I- Ciudad de la Imagen (4*) Located in the c/ Virgilio, 4 in Pozuelo de Alarcon (Madrid). Hotel Facilities The regular check-in time is 14.00h. Hotel provides fitness facilities and these areas are free of charge to be used by everyone. Full board Includes (only for athletes that do not go to the venue): Accommodation Breakfast buffet Lunch and dinner at the buffet Non-alcoholic beverages during meals (mineral water, soft drink, coffee and/or tea) 5

All meals, drinks and other services not included in the above must be paid for by the guests on spot or will be covered by the team s credit card. Room for Physiotherapy Dedicated room for physiotherapy will be provided for the teams with medical staff to set-up their own massage beds. For any kind of accommodation related information, please contact to Mr. Fernandez from the Organizing Committee. For extra persons over 20 teams member cover by LOC cost per day and person (full board is); Single Room: 170 Double Room 117 The price of every extra person must be paid prior arrival upon an invoice issued by the organizer or by the Team Leaders on site in cash in EURO. 7. MEALS Meals will all be served in buffet style. A large selection of suitable food will be available taking into consideration special diets, religion and culture of the participants. 6

A late serving provision will be made for those athletes retained at the stadium due to doping controls. Catering zone will be place in one of the room in the technical meeting you will have more information about it. 8. ACCREDITATION Each team member will receive an accreditation card, which must be worn at all times and should be clearly visible. Security personnel will control all areas. The accreditation is not transferable and does not allow the holder to take another person beyond checkpoints. Photos are not required for the accreditation card system. Accreditations will be given to each Team Leader at their arrival. For any kind of accreditation related information, please contact to Mr. del Pozo from the Organizing Committee. 9. TECHNICAL MEETING The Technical Meeting will be held on 26 January at 20:00, in the official Hotel, Calle Virgilio 4. The Technical Meeting will provide updates and information which is not already mentioned in this Team Manual and will include: Welcome Entries Confirmation Competition site and warm-up area Timetable Call Room procedures Allocation of lanes and order of competitors Starting heights and bar rising Personal equipment Scoring Protests Doping Control Jury of appeal Award Ceremonies 7

10. OFFICIAL & PERSONAL IMPLEMENTS The implements provided by the LOC are selected from those appearing on the current IAAF approved implements list. Personal Implements shall also be allowed, providing that: They are readily identifiable and are IAAF certified They are not already on the official list They have been checked for compliance with IAAF Rules They are made available to all the other competitors Personal implements must be submitted to the implements check in point (located at the Stadium/TIC) no later than 26 January by 19:00. If a personal implement cannot be accepted, the relevant team will be accordingly informed through the TIC, and the implement will be immediately returned. 11. ENTRY PROCEDURES Entries shall be made through the file attached in the email. Preliminary entries: 28 December Final entries: 16 of January at 14:00 (CET) 12. PARTICIPATION ORDER/LANES The athletes participation order or lane assignment for each event is according to drawing done by the Organizing Committee as follows: Men Teams Women - Teams A France A Czech Republic B Czech Republic B Poland C Great Britain C Spain D Poland D France E Spain E Great Britain 13. SCORING Men / Women: 3 best Athletes of the team are scoring. Men U20 / Women U20: 2 best Athletes of the team are scoring. For the final teams classification all achieved points are considered. In the case of the tied teams the classification is done based on the number of first places won, then second places, etc. 8

14. CALL ROOM PROCEDURES & RESTING AREA The Call Room is located close to the warm up area (picture below) and athletes are requested to report to the call room before the start of each day 25 minutes prior to their first discipline. It is the responsibility of the team managers to ensure that their athletes are aware of the last check-in times for entry to the Call Room. Athletes arriving late may be excluded from participation in the event. The following checks will be carried out on equipment that must comply with IAAF Advertising and Competition Rules: Competition Bibs Shoes and Spikes Uniforms Bags (identification on and content of) Any other kind of advertising After each event, athletes leave immediately the infield and can go to the Resting Area. From the Meeting Point next to the Resting Area, they are taken to the next event by a judge at the following times: Track event Pole vault High jump Other Field events 10 minutes before the start of each heat 60 minutes before the start 35 minutes before the start 35 minutes before the start Rest Area 9

15. MEDICAL SERVICES, DOPING CONTROLS & EMERGENCY ACTUATION Medical Services The LOC shall provide a comprehensive medical service (including 24 hours emergency treatment) for every participant accredited for the competition. An emergency service shall also be ready for action, especially on competition days to treat anyone inside and outside the venue. The LOC will cover all costs of the medical treatments of all participants in the case of illness and/or accidents during their official stay for the Championship. The situations where the LOC will be responsible will be announced during the technical meeting in details. The participating National Federations must insure their players in case of sport injuries which may occur during the competition and trainings as the related medical costs will not be covered by the LOC. Emergency Numbers Emergency: 112 According to their gravity, difficulty in being controlled, inherent risks and potential consequences, and existing extinguishing resources, emergencies are classified as follow: Doping controls will be conducted in accordance with IAAF Rules and Anti-doping Regulations. They are in accordance with the revised WADA code in force since 1 January 2015. The controls will be done under the supervision of the European Athletics Doping Control Delegate. Both urine and blood samples may be collected immediately before, and during, the Championships. Athletes selected for doping control shall be informed by anti-doping officials. Athletes will be required to sign a doping control notification form. They can be accompanied to the Doping Control Station (DCS) by an accredited team representative of their choice. A selected athlete should report immediately to the DCS unless there are valid reasons for delay. All selected athletes will be accompanied by a trained chaperone or Doping Control Officer from the time of notification until arrival at the DCS. Athletes are reminded that refusal to provide a sample result in liable to disqualification and may result in further disciplinary action. Athletes who are required to use prescribed medication for the treatment of a medical condition should ensure that they have registered their medication, where necessary, through the Therapeutic Use Exemption system prior to attending the Championships. 16.
