Ages Game Length Max 3/4U (Blast ball) 0:30 n/a 5/6U (T-Ball) 0:45 6 7/8U (Cach pitch) 1:15 6 9/10U 1:30 6 11/12U 1:40 6 13/14U 1:45 7 There is n drp-dead time. The inning currently in prgress will cmplete unless there is a scre differential f 6 r mre runs. It is cnsidered a new inning as sn as the 3 rd ut is recrded, even if there is nly a minute left n the clck. A game is cnsidered fficial and will nt be made up nce the time played has past half the specified game length. The final scre f the game is whatever the scre is when the umpire calls the game dne. The nly caveat t this rule is if the game is ended prir t fficial game time r innings due t weather r ther issue. In this case nly, the scre will revert t the last cmpleted inning. (see examples at end f dcument if unsure what this means). Field sizes: Pitching and bases distances fr each age: Age Pitching Bases 3/4U (Blast ball) n/a 50 feet 5/6U (T-Ball) 40 feet 55 feet 7/8U 40 feet 60 feet 9/10U 46 feet 65 feet 11/12U 50 feet 70 feet 13/14U 54 feet 80 feet N metal cleats are permitted fr any age except fr 13/14U nly. 12U and belw must use mlded cleats. At the end f the furth inning, each player must have played a minimum f tw innings. The pitcher and/r catcher can have a curtesy runner at any time. The curtesy runner must be the last batted ut. If in the 1st inning there is n ut yet recrded, then the curtesy runner will be the last batter in the lineup. A maximum f fur caches are t be in the dugut. Hme team prvides fficial scre keeper, visiting team prvide a scre bard peratr. A team can play with nly 8 players but will take an ut fr the 9 th player. If a team nly has 7 players present five minutes after the fficial start f the game, it is cnsidered a frfeit. The teams can take the field and scrimmage but umpires are nt required t stay (yu can ask them). Yu may add a current KYA registered player frm the same divisin t the rster t make 9 players (basically a player frm ne f the ther teams in yur same age grup). Players are nt allwed t play up r dwn in age. The brrwed player(s): Must bat at the end f the lineup Are nt allwed t be utilized as a Pitcher r Catcher Warm-Ups Warm up between r behind fields nly.

Yu may use the batting cages and bullpen munds, BE COURTEOUS Rec teams warming up fr a game have right t the cages and warm-up areas ver any team that s just there fr practice. Game Balls Each cach will give a game ball t the umpire fr each game. KYA prvides game balls t all caches at the start f each seasn. D nt use fr practice, they are fr games nly. Batting/Bats Batters shall be required t wear prtective gear (helmet), bth at bat and while in the n-deck circle Bat full rster. Players can be rtated in and ut f the game defensively w/ut penalty Lineup stays the same. Any player remved because f an illness r injury may skip his turn at bat withut taking an autmatic ut. At that pint, the sick/injured player is permanently remved frm the current game and cannt re-enter the game defensively r ffensively. Players reprting after the start f the game will be inserted at the bttm f the batting rder. This must be cmmunicated with umpires and ppsing caches prir t the player s at-bat. Bats must be stamped with: BPF 1.15 r: BBCOR.50 N stamp if bat is a: T-Ball bat - may be used in 5U and 6U nly! Wd bat 2 ¾ barrel is permitted Illegal Bat ramificatins Befre a pitch: bat simply remved After a pitch: batter is ut. The cach will be ejected (as well as next game). N slashing at any age. (Slashing is the batter shwing bunt and then pulling back and swinging). Batter will be called ut. Pitching (9U and abve) Pitchers are limited t the number f innings per calendar day and per week. Once a Pitcher has been remved, that player may nt pitch again in that game. N jewelry (necklaces, sunglasses, etc). N light-clred sleeves, bracelets, r watches n thrwing arm. Run Rule 5 runs per ½ inning limit fr all ages. The game shall be terminated (at the end f the inning, nt half-inning) and the team in the lead shall be declared the winner if a team is leading their ppnent by: Age After 3 After 4 9/10U n/a n/a n/a 11/12U n/a 15 10 13/14U n/a 15 10 After 5 N Cntact Rule A base runner cannt intentinally run int a defensive player. This applies t all bases, but especially at hme plate. Runners cannt g airbrne t avid a tag at any base. Umpires / Calls / Ejectins The cach CANNOT challenge a judgment call by umpires. There is n prtest plicy, all items/issues will be settled n the field with caches, umpires and cmmissiners present. The umpire s final ruling will stand. After the game s end, if there is a questin n a ruling, it can be addressed with the apprpriate Cmmissiner via email and reviewed with the Chief Umpire. Caches being ejected frm a game will autmatically be suspended fr their next KYA game, as well. Parents being ejected frm a game will cause the cach t be suspended fr the current game and the next game. A secnd ejectin will require the cach t appear befre the KYA bard. Other Items N pets f any kind are allwed arund r n the fields, bleachers r cncessin areas. Pet wners will be asked t take their pets t the parking lt r grass areas. N tbacc r alchlic prducts are allwed at the ballpark, n the field r in the duguts. N skatebards, rip sticks, rller/in-line skates, scters, r ther similar bjects. Please infrm yur parents. N nise makers: hrns, cw bells, music players, etc. Teams are allwed nly three events per week, including practices and games. This will be enfrced and if a cach is vilating this rule, he will be suspended fr a minimum f ne game There are n designated Hme r Visitr dugut, bth duguts are first-cme-first-served. Clean up the duguts after every game. Bth teams are required t perfrm maintenance after the last game f the day. N game scre r win/lss recrd is DEFENSE: All players must ccupy a field psitin and bat. N player may spend mre than ne (1) inning per game n the bench. Players shuld be rtated and affrded an pprtunity t play as many psitins as pssible. Each player must play at least ne (1) inning at an infield psitin. N player may ccupy the same player psitin fr mre than 2-innings per game, nr can they play the same psitin fr tw (2) cnsecutive innings. Ten (10) defensive players shall play in the field. Pitcher, Catcher, 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base and SS, with fur (4) utfielders. The furth (4th) utfielder shall nt assume an infield psitin. All utfielders shall stay behind the baseline. The defensive player listed as pitcher shall stay in cntact with the pitchers circle until the ball is hit. Defensive caches in 6U shall nt be allwed n the field f play and shall cach frm the dugut. N mre than 2 defensive caches in the utfield. The pitcher may nt tag the batter ging t First Base. The pitcher must thrw the ball t the first baseman in rder t make a play n the advancing batter. The Pitcher is allwed t tag the advancing runner frm Third Base r by stepping n Hme Plate fr the frce ut. KYA

strngly encurages the Pitcher t make the thrw t the catcher. OFFENSE: The Infield Fly Rule shall nt be in effect at any time. Bunting shall nt be allwed. A batter shall receive a maximum f three (3) pitches frm their Pitching Cach (wh must thrw ver hand frm an upright psitins and stay in cntact with the rubber fr 6U nly). Shuld the batter fail t put ne f the pitched balls int play the batter shall then be given a maximum f tw (2) swings ff the tee t put the ball int play. N additinal swings shall be given n ful balls. The batting tee will be psitined directly n tp f the permanent plate. A cach f the team at bat is respnsible fr remval f the tee prir t any play at hme plate. The thrwing f the bat by the batter after ne team warning cnstitutes an Out. A batter hitting the tee stand and/r ball, with the result f the ball traveling beynd 3 feet inside f ful lines, will cnstitute a fair ball. The batter shall be called Out after failing t put the ball in play after five (5) swings. Additinally, the batter is als called Out if the fifth swing results in a ful ball. 6U - Runners may advance nly ne (1) base n an ver-thrw t 1st. 6U - Multiple bases may be taken n balls that enter the utfield. Once the ball is thrwn int the infield and is under the cntrl f a defensive player the umpire can call time. Base runners must return t the clsest base. (Disputes are up t the discretin f the umpire and are nt pen fr debate.) 5U Runners can nly advance ne base per play. Runners shall nt lead-ff r steal bases. A runner is ut fr leaving the base befre the ball is hit. 7/8U (Cach Pitch): Each player must play at least ne (1) inning at an infield psitin. COACHES (DEF): maximum f (4) Team Caches are allwed t ccupy the dugut and/r field f play The Cach Limit prvides fr (3) Caches plus (1) Cach Pitcher A maximum f (2) defensive Caches may stand utside the dugut n the field f play Caches n the field f play must remain within (5) feet f the dugut entrance. COACH PITCHER: A cach f the team at bat will serve as the Cach Pitcher n the mund The cach pitcher will: Pitch the ball verhand frm a distance f 38-feet, Remain in cntact with the pitching rubber during the delivery f the ball, Refrain frm instructing base runners in any manner, inclusive f verbal and nn-verbal cmmunicatins, Be allwed t give instructins t the batter at the plate; instructins such as stance, grip, psitining, etc. Cach Pitcher verbal instructins must be cmpleted prir t cntacting the pitching rubber, and Refrain frm advising the batter as t when t swing and when nt t swing the bat Cach Pitcher will receive (1) Warning fr vilating a rule (4.2.1 thrugh 4.2.5) listed abve Subsequent infractin after Warning will cause the Cach Pitcher t be remved frm pitching duties A Cach remved frm pitching duties may cntinue t fulfill nrmal caching duties during that game A batted ball that cntacts the Cach Pitcher is a dead ball; the pitch is cnsidered a Strike/Ful A Cach Pitcher will take all psitive actins necessary t avid any frm f interference with a ball in play Cach Pitcher interference can result in the batter being Out, and base runners returned t riginal psitin Accidental interference, as determined by the umpire, results in the actins listed in (4.4) Intentinal interference, as determined by the umpire, will result in actins listed in (4.3.1) and a Warning COACH CATCHER (REBOUNDER) Each team in the field will prvide a Cach Catcher t rebund pitched baseballs missed by the Player Catcher The Cach Catcher is expected t: Assist the Player Catcher with equipment, playing lcatin, and safety related issues, Ensure the bat is remved frm the field f play after each at bat, Nt impede the Player Catcher in the perfrmance f Catcher related duties, Nt prvide cach instructins t any player ther than the Player Catcher, Refrain frm interference with play under a live ball cnditin Cach Catcher will receive (1) Warning fr vilating a rule (5.2.1 thrugh 5.2.5) listed abve Subsequent infractin after Warning will cause the Cach Catcher t be remved frm catching duties A Cach remved frm catching duties may cntinue t fulfill ther caching duties during that game BATTER A batter becmes a base runner after cntacting the ball with the bat A batter shall be called Out after (3) Strikes r a maximum f (6)-pitches. Fuls n the last (6 th ) pitch will

cntinue the at-bat until the ball is missed r put in play If the batted ball hits the Cach Pitcher n the 6th pitch, it shall cnstitute a replay/ anther pitch Runners must remain in cntact with the base ccupied until the ball is cntacted with the bat; n Lead-ff Base Runners may nly advance n a ball put in play by the batter; n Steals Only (1)-base may be taken n an ver-thrwn ball directed t the First Baseman ccupying his Infield psitin (7U Only) Base Runners may cntinue t advance at their wn peril until the Lead Runner has been stpped by the ball. Every Player must play at least (1) inning ccupying an Infield psitin A Player is limited t n mre than (2) innings at the same psitin in a single game 9U (Kid Pitch): Tight bases. Base runners nt permitted t leave the base till ball is put in play. Base runners may advance n a passed ball r wild pitch. A player may nt steal hme. Baserunner can nly advance t hme n a batted ball r a walk with bases laded, r errr n live ball There is n drpped 3 rd strike rule. The Infield Fly rule is in effect starting in 9U. N balks. Umpires may (shuld) give instructinal warnings but n penalties. Overthrws: base runner may cntinue advancing n bases all the way hme r until they are stpped by the ball. This includes verthrws frm catcher t pitcher r t any base. Defensive players (except the pitcher) can play a maximum f tw innings (nn-cnsecutive) in ne psitin. 10/11/12U: A player may nt steal hme. Cannt break fr hme until the ball has been released by the pitcher. N suicide squeeze Drpped third strike and in-field fly rules are bth in effect. Balks: Each team will receive a maximum f ne warning per pitcher prir t a balk being called. 13/14U: Metal Cleats permitted.
