Tournament Information 1/. Schedule and Format: The event takes place at Penha Longa Resort Estrada da Lagoa Azul Linhó 2714-511 Sintra, Portugal This is a 54 Hole individual stroke play event. 18 Holes per day, commencing on February 16th 2018. Official practice round February 15th 2018. 2/. Eligibility to play: This event is co- sanctioned between the GJG Tour and 21golfleague and is open to amateur golfers, both boys and girls a) In the age classes - GJG Tour players age 12-18 (max. 18 at the start of the event) - 21golfleague age 18-21 (max. 21 at the start of the event) - All players need to become a GJG Tour member U18 or 21golfleague member ( U21 ) b) All players must be members of a registered golf club c) Handicap limit: Boys 5 / Girls 7 d) If a player is not meeting the HCP limits or has no GJG eligibility status, please send an wildcard inquiry to service@globaljuniorgolf.com with latest tournaments results. The tournament committee has 10 wildcards available.
3/.Field Size The field will be capped at 90 competitors. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to change or limit the size of the field. If the field is limited or oversubscribed, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to apply the following guidelines in determining which entries shall be accepted: 3.1 Handicap; 3.2 International event finishes; 3.3 National event finishes; 3.4 International and National Ranking Systems; 3.5 Tournament Committee Invitations 4/. Entry Closing Date and Procedures 4.1 Entries close on January 15th 2018; All players must be or become a member of Global Junior Golf on the terms and conditions as determined by GJG. International entries should register directly on the Global Junior Golf website. International players may request early confirmation of entry to help with international travel bookings. A player is only accepted at the tournament once he either has paid the tournament package or the Entry Fee in full! 4.2 Late entries may be accepted at the sole discretion of the Tournament Committee; All information required in the entry form must be provided accurately and in full 5/. Prizes On conclusion of the 54 holes: 5.1 The winner of the Boys Competition will be awarded the Boys Portuguese Intercollegiate Champion Trophy and prizes will be awarded to the players finishing from 1to 3place. 5.2 The winner of the Girls Competition will be awarded the Girls Portuguese Intercollegiate Champion Trophy and prizes will be awarded to the players finishing from 1to 3place. 5.3 It is compulsory for all players to attend prize giving.
6/. Registration Competitors must register at the designated Player Registration desk in the Reception of the Penha Longa Clubhouse between the hours of 09.00 and 14.00 on 15th of February 2018. Failure to register within the prescribed time period could result in the player forfeiting his or her place in the tournament unless mitigating circumstances can be proven. 7/. Practice Rounds 7.1 The official tournament practice round is 15th February. To book an official practice round time please contact directly the golf club reservas.golf@penhalonga.com 7.2 All official practice times booked will be allocated on a first come first served basis. These times are open only for players participating in the tournament. 8/. Package & Entry Fee Options Important: Every player has the option to choose between either a package or Entry Fee! Before choosing a tournament package players need to register through the GJG system and need to be accepted by the tournament director Please note that 15 rooms at the Penha Longa Resort are reserved and will be given out on First come, First serve Basis! Rules of Golf and Close of Competition The tournament will be held in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited and the Local Rules approved by the Tournament Committee. The Local Rules will be published and posted on the tournament notice board at the venue.
