CLASS DEFINITIONS Novice: horse or pony who has not won a similar class at a show Two or four wheeled hard tyred turnout - traditional style: any two or four wheeled vehicle with solid rubber or iron tyres (not pneumatic) of a traditional style rather than purpose built for CDEs, but excluding trades or delivery vehicles. Trades / delivery turnout: horse or pony, vehicle, harness, dress and accessories to be in traditional commercial style. Pleasure turnout: horse or pony, vehicle, harness, dress and accessories suitable for a day s pleasure drive, carrying lunch, and essentials for the horse or pony. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. All drivers must be either current financial members of an ACDS affiliated club or have completed and signed a One Activity Membership Form and paid the $30 fee (over and above the entry fees) 2. Adult drivers are 18 yrs and over 3. It is recommended that all drivers, grooms and passengers wear protective headwear. 4. Juniors: * Junior drivers and junior passengers must wear approved accredited safety standard protective helmets whenever in a horse drawn vehicle. * 6-10yrs (inclusive) must be accompanied in the vehicle by an experienced ACDS adult driver member seated alongside at all times, holding a second set of reins attached to the bit. * 11-15yrs (inclusive) must be accompanied in the vehicle by an experienced ACDS adult driver member seated alongside at all times. Second set of reins optional. * 16-17yrs driving a single horse or pony, may carry a groom or passenger at his/her discretion. He/she may also drive a pair of ponies but not horses or a larger combination, and at show organisers discretion may drive a stallion. 5. All drivers are responsible for knowledge of and compliance with the ACDS Show Driving Rules 6. All horses/ponies must be at least 3 years old, be reasonably fit and must compete drug free. 7. Cruelty to or abuse of any animal may result in the offender being withdrawn from any further classes. 8. An exhibitor showing an animal which does not appear to be sound or shows evidence of lameness, exhaustion or distress, may be asked to withdraw it immediately from further competition. This may include horses or ponies which appear to be distressed or exhausted due to the weight of the turnout being pulled. Recommended ratio horse: weight being pulled is 1:1. 9. The organisers reserve the right to request the withdrawal of any horse, pony or turnout which appears unsafe. 10. Running or standing martingales, side reins, trotting type overchecks, running reins, boots or bandages are not permitted on horses or ponies whilst competing. 11. All horses and ponies must wear winkers. 12. Bitless bridles are not permitted. 13. Horses and ponies may be measured on the day at the discretion of the organisers. 14. Competitors shall at all times compete at their own risk. 15. The organisers reserve the right to alter the program according to conditions on the day. 16. Any protest to be in writing and submitted within 20 minutes of the conclusion of the relevant class to the Ground Jury accompanied by $50 (non refundable if protest is dismissed). 17. Whilst the organisers will endeavour to accommodate all competitors, classes may not be delayed due to clashes between rings. 18. Handlers in the arena must be dressed appropriately. 19. Dogs must be restrained on leashes at all times. 20. Participants are reminded that ACDS Public Liability Insurance includes a $2000 excess for each and every claim. ********************************* SHOW VENUE: MANILLA SHOW GROUND, River St Manilla NSW Most services are within close proximity of the showground. The Manilla Motel is only 100m away whilst the Manilla RSL and the Hart Rural Stockfeed store are only 250m away. The CBD is an easy 500m walk or drive and has an IGA, Bakery, Chemist, Hardware Store and Newsagency etc. Manilla is also well appointed with a state of the art Hospital and Medical Centre, and all the necessary emergency agencies available. There are three petrol outlets open all weekend in Manilla. DIRECTIONS: From Gunnedah take the Manilla/Lake Keepit turn off approximately 5km past Carroll travel for approximately 35km, you will see the show ground on your left approximately 1km after you pass the 50km sign entering Manilla. From Tamworth head North West along the Manilla Rd approximately 48km, turn left at the Manilla Primary School into Court St, travel to the end (approximately 1km) you will see the show ground entrance in front of you. From Barraba cross over the bridge in Manilla continue along Manilla Rd turn right at the RSL club into Court St, travel approximately 250m, you will see the showground entrance in front of you.
