STAFF BIOS Erick Hurtarte. As the CDA Slammers FC Orange Program Director, Erick Hurtarte is responsible for and oversees all program-related activities, including but not limited to, staff selection and assignment, team formation and player selection. Prior to being named Program Director in 2008, Erick served as the Assistant Director of Coaching and has coached numerous teams in his sixteen years at Orange Junior Soccer Club. Erick places great importance on the impact our coaches have on players and emphasizes player and personal development in all he does as both program director and coach helping to prepare our children to be successful people in life. In addition to his Program Director and coaching duties, Erick is currently the Head Coach for the Cypress College Women's Soccer. Erick has also been an assistant coach for Fullerton College, Rio Hondo College, Saddleback College, and Sunny Hills High School. In ten years at Sunny Hills, the program reached the playoffs each year, won seven league titles, and three CIF titles (to go along with three finalist finishes). A graduate of Chapman University, with a Bachelor's degree in Movement and Exercise Science, Erick has continued to give back to the City of Orange and their children. Erick currently resides in Riverside with his number one fan, his dog Barca. As a collegiate player, Erick was a captain at Chapman University, a member of the school s only Final Four team, and was named first team All Far West and First Team All-American. Kevin Esparza. As the CDA Slammers FC Orange Technical Director, Kevin Esparza is responsible for and oversees all player-development activities, including but not limited to, tryouts, camps, academies, skills sessions, and formation/oversight of team training plans and player progress. An Orange native, Kevin was team an assistant coach and Director of Soccer Operations for Chivas USA and an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Galaxy. Kevin has coached the Orange High School men's varsity team to the CIF Championship, and coached with the Irvine Strikers, Orange Junior Soccer Club, the North Huntington Beach Soccer Club, and served as Director of Coaching at Desert United Soccer Club in Palm Desert. Kevin has also coached the University of California - Riverside men's soccer team and Chapman University's men and women's soccer team. He has also served as a scout and staff coach for the Southern California Olympic Development Program (ODP). He studied and played soccer at Santa Ana College and Chapman University. Lindsey Huie. Lindsey Huie joins CDA Slammers FC Orange with 10 years club experience and as a former Director of Coaching. Lindsey is a recent three- time Hall of Fame Inductee to the University of Portland (2002 team and 2005 team, SC Blues Hall of Fame, Former US National Teamer, Two Time Division 1 National Champion and four-time All-American. Lindsey played alongside International superstar Megan Rapinoe and was Co-Captain with Canadian superstar Christine Sinclair.

Lindsey brings great energy and enthusiasm. She will coach continue coaching the G04 team that is currently ranked 16 th in the state and the G01s who have recently launched off to HS, all of which have made their high school teams and begin their college prep journey. Lindsey's coaching/playing experience and education will prove to be a true asset to CDA Slammers FC Orange parents and players. Lindsey studied Psychology at the University of Portland and received a Master s in Marriage and Family therapy. Her primary focus is developing quality people and technically and tactically sound players. David Carrillo. David is a passionate, dedicated, loyal and enthusiastic coach; a constant student and true teacher of the game. With over 24 years of coaching experience, which includes roles as the OJSC director of coaches, co-founder of PSA Soccer Club (Anaheim Surf), Soccer Club, and Chapman University Men s Soccer Team Assistant Coach, and countless tournament and league titles, David is a pillar in the Southern California soccer community. He is widely known and respected as a tireless developer of talent from the earliest player ages through placement in college and every stage in between. An exceptional judge of potential and talent, David is an amazing recruiter of players, teams and coaches, who are focused on player and personal development. Javier Flores. Javier Flores grew up and was formed as a player, teacher and coach in the soccer fields of Orange County, and especially as an outstanding youth player in the renowned Hispanic league. In the late 1990s, while still attending high school at Rancho Alamitos High, Javier co-founded, played and years later coached Alianza Azteca, a semi-professional Orange County team. After winning a semi-professional championship, and becoming a father, Javier turned his attention to developing the skills of youth players. By 2008, Alianza Azteca Soccer Club was considered a youth soccer powerhouse within the Orange County Hispanic community, and Javier was instrumental in the club's growth and the players' development. In addition to gaining enormous coaching experience and achieving remarkable on-field success with that club, Javier was instrumental in developing numerous young players who now proudly represent and play for CDA Slammers FC. In six years with CDA Slammers FC Orange, Javier's teams have consistently produced exceptional individual and team results and have quickly risen amongst the top talent in their age groups. The success is a reflection of Javier's experience, skill, commitment, and passion for soccer and his ability to channel it towards identifying, training, and developing our emerging players. Memo Gonzalez. Guillermo "Memo" Gonzalez brings with him National Team and professional playing experience, including playing midfielder for the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer for four seasons. Memo graduated from the prestigious Bradenton Soccer Academy -- a full-time residency program for the US under 17 Men's National Team in 2003. That same year he graduated, he was joined by pro players Eddie Gaven and Freddy Adu. Memo became one of the youngest players in MLS history to be drafted when the Galaxy chose him as a Project-40 player with the eighth overall pick of the 2003 MLS SuperDraft.

Memo gained both national and international notoriety and experience with the under-17 US National team, playing at the Under-17 World Championship in Finland. He also played on the US National Under- 14, Under-16 and Under 20 teams. Memo is a member of the Cerritos College coaching staff. He is also on the coaching staff for Bishop Amat High School. Additionally, he has been an assistant at Immaculate Heart High School. He also founded Memo s Kids Foundation, which holds camps for kids, as well as soccer clinics. Memo brings with him a vast knowledge of the game, experience at the international and professional level, as well as successful coaching experience at all age levels. Oscar Graham. Raised in South America, Oscar grew up in a very involved soccer environment where he learned the dynamics and acquired the passion for soccer. As was the norm for his community, he first learned to play in the streets of his neighborhood, and then was skilled enough to progress to through the highly competitive high school ranks. The spirit, skill and knowledge forged in such a challenging environment has led to an exceptional ability to identify, nurture and develop talent -- particularly that of our most raw talent. He coaches our Boys 2003 team, which currently plays on Silver Elite Level, and has the goal to advance to Tier 1 next season. Getting his start at Orange Junior Soccer Club, Oscar's ability to recruit, retain and develop young players was quickly evident. After several successful seasons, Oscar was invited to share his time and talent at the CDA Slammers FC Orange level. A graduate of both the University of Southern California (USC) and California State Polytechnic University (Cal Poly), Oscar believes in the importance of higher education and he emphasizes the value of balanced player development, which includes outstanding athletic and academic performances. Oscar is motivated and looks forward to continue contributing to the development of the team.. Mike Greer. Mike has coached successful teams on both the boys and girls side and is emerging as one of the most capable coaches in the club. In addition to his team responsibilities, Mike regularly leads our camp sessions and our Friday Skillz sessions. Mike is homegrown, having played for Orange Junior Soccer Club, as well as Villa Park High School and Santiago Canyon College. Mike also played in Coast Soccer League's Men's Premier League and in the Professional Arena Soccer League for the Anaheim Bolts. The experience, expertise and the energy he brings has resulted in some fantastic development amongst our players who continually come back to play for "Coach Mike." Jim Gross. Jim brings over a decade of youth coaching to CDA Slammers FC Orange. With a focus on player development, he has proven to be a perfect fit transitioning players from our recreation program to CDA Slammers FC Orange and then advancing them as competitive players. Jim's passion for soccer started during his youth in Los Angeles and continued through high school and the intramural leagues at Cal State Fullerton. In addition to his experience as a player and a coach, Jim is also a competitive level referee and was State Cup Certified.

A constant fixture on our fields, you've likely seen Coach Jim at our Academies, Friday Night Skillz, tryouts and many other offerings. Always willing to give of himself, Jim is both a terrific coach and role model for our emerging stars. Lastly, Jim earned his United States Soccer Federation D License in 2014. Gary Hurtarte. Gary is one of our most seasoned, experienced and well-respected coaches, and begins his eleventh year at CDA Slammers FC Orange. After his amazing playing career, Gary began coaching at Rio Hondo College where he has been for eighteen years. Gary's long tenure reflects his commitment, dedication and his exceptional patience with our emerging athletes. He has consistently led teams that exceeded expectations and developed individual players to their personal best. During his playing days, Gary was a four-year letterman at Bell Gardens High School where he was voted the league's most valuable player twice, was first team all CIF all four years, and led the team to a CIF title. After his exceptional high school career, Gary went on to play at East Los Angeles College where he was a two-year league most valuable player and two-year first team All American. Gary is the only athlete in the school's history to receive this honor. After transferring from East Los Angeles College to Chapman University, Gary was once again a two-year All American and led the only team in school history to the college final four. Christian Jimenez. Christian Jimenez joins CDA Slammers FC Orange with nine years club experience. Christian trained with the United States Under-17 National team at the USSF's Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida from the Fall 2002 to Spring 2004, and competed in the U17 World Cup. Christian has traveled to 20 different countries representing the US Youth National Teams. He was a member of the U14, U16, U17, U18, and U20 Men s National Teams. He was called into the Full Men s National Team Camp at the age of 17 by Bruce Arena. Upon graduating from Bradenton, Christian moved to the University of South Florida. At USF, in just one season, he appeared in 17 games and registered four goals and four assists. He was an All-conference co-rookie of the year and all was named to the conference All-Freshmen Team. After his year in college he turned professional by signing a Generation Adidas contract with Major League Soccer. Steve was selected 14th overall in the 2005 MLS Superdraft by Chivas USA. After one year, he was traded to Real Salt Lake and played there for 3 seasons before an injury cut short his playing career. Christian has been an Olympic Development Program coach for the past eight years where he has won numerous Regional Championships as a head and assistant coach. He brings professional, collegiate, and high school coaching experience into the club. Christian's coaching/playing experience and education will prove to be a true asset to CDA Slammers FC Orange parents and players. Christian graduated from National University with a Bachelor s Degree in Sports Psychology. Jairo Steve Jimenez. Steve is an experienced, passionate soccer coach with a strong understanding of college, high school and club soccer and the overall tactics and techniques of the game. Steve brings a proven ability to train, supervise, evaluate and motivate competitive players and coaching staffs, and excellent interpersonal skills necessary for communicating to coaches, players of all ages, and parents.

Following a decorated playing career that included the Army All American Team and the Olympic Development Program, Steve has developed his coaching abilities as Cerritos College Women s Soccer Assistant Coach, Girls Varsity Head Coach at Glendora High School, Girls Varsity Head Coach at Sierra Vista High School, and several other high school and club soccer roles. The CIF Division 7 and San Gabriel Tribune Coach of the Year in 2010, Steve has been staff to the 2016 NSCAA National Champions DIII, 2016 CCCAA State Champions, 2015 NSCAA National Champions DIII, 2015 CCCAA State Champions, 2010 Division 7 Southern Section CIF Champions, 2008-2016 Montview League Champions (9 consecutive league titles), and 2003 Camino Real League Champions. Steve s many certifications include CPR/First Aid, CDC- Concussion Training Course, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Coaching Certificate, and a D License National Level. Randi Martinez. Coach Randi Martinez has been an instrumental member of the CDA Slammers FC Orange coaching staff for over a decade. In addition to his work at CDA Slammers FC Orange, Randi has been with the Cypress College Women's Soccer program since 2000. Prior to his joining the Cypress family, Randi was a member and captain of the United States Under 17 National Team and a member of the United States Under 20 National Team. As part of his playing experience, Randi has traveled extensively throughout the world and played in numerous international matches. Randi attended San Jose State and was named Gatorade All-American three times, Parade All-American four times, and NSCAA All American three times. In addition to his coaching experience at Cypress, Randi has been the girls' assistant varsity coach at Redlands High School, the boys' varsity coach at Jurupa High School, and a trainer for Orange Junior Soccer Club, Brea Blaze, and Cerritos Regional Soccer Club. Salina Ortiz. Salina came to CDA Slammers FC Orange with playing experience from Boise State University, Cerritos College, Santa Ana College, and CSU Stanislaus. With her well-traveled and decorated soccer career concluded, Salina has dedicated her coaching talents to CoachUp, Champions Quest, Fabian Grassini Sports, Arena Soccer Parks, Brenda Athletic Club, Next Level Sports, Cypress Soccer Academy, and Golden West College. At Cerritos College, Salina was team captain for an undefeated squad that was the top ranked team in California, as well as, the United States. Salina is entrusted with creating an excellent foundation for some of our youngest players and emerging stars. Mike Petrus. Coach Mike began his playing days at three years old and continued through his teenage years in the South Bay, learning and developing alongside his brothers, within the Dutch style of soccer under the guidance of their father. In his youth, Mike played his competitive soccer with Cerritos United and Tri-City Soccer Club in Cypress, and played varsity soccer at Gahr High School. After retiring from playing the game for several years, Mike began coaching in 2002 and earned his National D license in 2005. In that time, Mike has successfully led highly competitive girls soccer teams from U9 through U16 almost exclusively at CDA Slammers and its predecessor, CRSC Infinity. He was also an instructor for the Long Beach City College Skills Academy for five years. Developing his coaching expertise within one of the most well-respected programs in the country, Mike has earned several accolades, including a State Cup championship in GU10 during the 2002/03 season, a Coast

Soccer League finalist in GU12 Gold in 2005, a Coast Soccer League championship in Silver Elite GU10 in 2009, as well as multiple tournament wins including the prestigious Sereno Showcase, Cerritos Memorial Cup and Nike Harvest Cup. Mike and his wife Penny, reside in Bellflower, have been married for twenty-four years and have two daughters (both who played for CRSC Infinity at the Gold, Premier and Flight 1 levels. James Rammelsberg. Coach James is one of our former players who have returned as a coach. He grew up learning to play the game he loves in the Orange Junior Soccer Club recreation program and then continued through the competitive side as he grew. After playing at the highest level in youth soccer in the country with the US Development Academy, he continued his career playing at Concordia University Irvine, an NAIA powerhouse. He also played in semi-professional Premier Development League with the local Blue Star club. James has been coaching for nine years at every level possible from recreation to high school, college, and even USL PRO with the OC Blues. Coach James is entering his fifth season with CDA Slammers FC Orange. He coaches all of his players to be true soccer players, where individual technique and decisionmaking are the centerpieces of his training and coaching regimen. Coach James also places a large focus on each player's individual responsibility, as well as learning to play on a team; looking to develop successful individuals both on and off the field. Adolfo Rodriguez. Adolfo Rodriguez is responsible for goalkeeper development club-wide. Adolfo's program and each session is high intensity, dynamic and full of positive energy. He blends these attributes to instruct on the technical and tactical fundamentals and discipline required to be a successful keeper. A former member of the US Olympic Development Program as a keeper, Adolfo knows what it takes for our players to develop and compete at the highest levels. In addition to his work at CDA Slammers FC Orange, Adolfo also serves as the Goalkeeper Trainer for the nationally-ranked Men s program at Santa Ana College. At SAC, his Goalkeepers have achieved All- League recognitions along with a top 3 ranking for keepers in California. In 2016, Adolfo was selected by former US Men's National team coach Steve Sampson to be part of the coaching staff for a College ID camp and Captains Camp for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, working with both Steve and Calsouth legend and former US Women s National team coach Billy McNichol. Adolfo's personal development has been greatly influenced by goalkeeper coaching legend Ignacio Hernandez (US Men's National Team, Costa Rican National Team, Los Angeles Galaxy, OC Zodiac) who has been Adolfo's mentor for over 20 years. Erik Santana. Erik Santana has been a successful coach within our club for several years, developing players in both our competitive and recreation programs. Erik brings with him both experience as a former competitive player, but also as a head coach at the high school level (Northwood High School, Irvine) as well as the club level, having been a head coach of several successful local club teams. Erik was also the director of a successful "Friday Night Futbol" program for several years; expertise we have enjoyed at our Friday Skillz sessions.

Mike Sutton. Mike Sutton has coached for CDA Slammers FC for four years. In addition to his club coaching, Mike begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Cypress Women s soccer program. Prior to Coaching for Cypress College, Mike was a standout player for Redondo Union High School. After high school, Mike went on to earn his degree in Business Management and Education from Ashford University. Coach Sutton coached at Pacifica High School for seven years. Ismael Valdez. A product of Orange County soccer clubs, Ismael was a standout player at Anaheim High School. Ismael led teams at a neighboring soccer club before we were able to successfully recruit him to CDA Slammers FC two years ago. In the years that have followed, Ismael has demonstrated both technical and tactical expertise, as well as, a keen ability to translate that expertise to our younger players -- which is indeed a talent. Having completed impressive 2015-16 campaigns, including staffing camps, tryouts and Friday Skillz sessions, we re looking forward to another great year in 2017. Rick Young. Rick Young has over two decades of youth soccer coaching experience at the highest levels. Rick played collegiate soccer at Cal State Dominguez Hills and has coached and/or directed at the club level (Legends FC, Slammers FC, Knoxville FC, OJSC and Celtic FC) and high school level (Troy, Chino, Don Lugo, Northwood, JSerra), as well, as within the United States Olympic Development Program. The experience Rick brings to CDA Slammers FC Orange includes coaching the following teams: USYSA 2013 Region IV Champions, USYSA 2012 U15 Girls National Champions, Region IV National State Cup Champions (3 times), Region III State Cup Champions, Nike Youth World Champion, Gothia Cup Champions, Jefferson Cup Champion, Surf Cup Championships (7 times), among many other champions and finalists. Additionally, Rick s graduating class 2014/15 team saw all 22 of his players receive scholarship offers including to San Diego State, Kansas, UC Santa Barbara, Texas, Yale, Washington State, Wake Forest, Azusa Pacific, San Jose State, Cal Poly Pomona, Arizona State, UC Riverside(3), Cal Baptist, and others.
