Session Description Fitness swimming The majority of the pool will be laned-out for those wishing to swim lengths, a hard shoulder will also be available. All swimmers using the lanes must be able to swim a length without stopping. Weaker/non swimmers will have to use the hard shoulder. Open swim An open session for all users, with a minimum of two lanes available for those wishing to swim lengths. Fitness swimming Lane swimming for those aged 17 years and over. Splash and Fun These sessions are aimed at under-8s. and Floats A fun session for all the family, with the large floats available for use. /Swim Club/ /Private These sessions are not open to the public, but those wishing to enquire about our programme, the adult hints & tips session or the swimming club can do so at reception. Members Only A session especially for our members who pay monthly by direct debit. Members will not be able to be accompanied by non members This session is open to ladies and girls age of 14yrs and over - A water-based aerobics class for those aged 16 years and over. Places must be booked at reception and the ticket given to the instructor at the start of the class. Parent and Toddler A session for parents to come with their toddlers. Toys will be made available for this session. Our admissions policy must be adhered to. Learn to swim! is fun and great exercise but also a crucial life skill! A recent international survey* showed nearly six in ten children (58%) know how to play a computer game but only two in ten know how to swim (20%)! Montem and Langley Leisure Centre have a great range of Courses for all ages. Parent & Baby Courses- For babies 3 months upwards accompanied by the parent in the water Toddlers 1-3 years Accompanied by a parent in the pool Toddlers 3-5 years For children in group lesson (no parents in the pool) Children 5+ Classes for all abilities Ladies only swimming lessons (in a secluded area) Lessons for all abilities Contact the Team on swimskool@sloughleisure.co.uk, or pop reception to book your classes. * conducted in January 2011 by AVG Digital Diaries Global Research General Information Children admissions policy These adult:child ratios apply to ALL sessions Children aged 3 years and under must be accompanied on a 1:1 basis. Children aged 4 to 7 years to be accompanied on a 1:2 basis. The adult accompanying the children must be aged 16 years and over, and must REMAIN WITH THE CHILD at all times. Any child aged 12 or under, who cannot swim must also be accompanied by an adult. General admissions policy no one under the influence of alcohol or drugs is permitted to use the facilities or enter the pool. aids and equipment Equipment CANNOT be loaned out on poolside. If you require any equipment then please purchase it from reception. Snorkels and masks are not allowed in the pool. Photographic equipment no cameras/camcorders/mobile phones are permitted on or around poolside, unless a photographic consent form has been completed and countersigned by the Duty Manager. Poolside no food or drink (except sports/plastic drink bottles) are permitted on poolside. Clothing Swimwear MUST be worn in the swimming pool and spa NO UNDERWEAR will be permitted. If additional clothing is required in order to cover up, then it must be TIGHT FITTING. Failure to conform to our health & safety regulations will result in a swimmer being asked to leave the pool. All children of nappy wearing age must wear an aqua nappy. These can be purchased at reception. This pool programme was correct at the time of going to print, however the management reserve the right to make changes to it.
