Trails are well marked and instructions will be provided at the safety meeting before the ride starts. Riders under the age of 18 must wear ASTM approved helmets and be accompanied by an adult. No smoking or garbage on the trails please. There will be five stops along the way. At each stop you will draw another card to build your poker hand. BBQ after the ride with prizes! Please ensure you bring items for your horse to be comfortable while you enjoy the BBQ! WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND ALL RIDERS WEAR HELMETS. In consideration of my participation in the Rooney Feeds Ltd. Shur Gain Poker Run, I acknowledge and accept the risks, dangers, and hazards associated with the Rooney Feeds Ltd. Shur Gain Poker Run which may include, but are not limited to, road/trail conditions, weather conditions, mechanical failure, my failure to ride safely or within the limits of my own ability, and the negligence of other riders or vehicle operators. I hereby waive all rights to sue or make any claims for injuries or damages due to negligence or for any reason whatsoever, against Rooney Feeds Ltd., and any individuals, committees, corporations, or other entities in any capacity associated with the Rooney Feeds Ltd. Shur Gain Poker Run, (hereinafter Releasees), for injury to person or damage to property that may suffer, including crippling injury or death while participating in any event or activity associated with the Poker Run and while upon the premises of any of the releasees. Poker Run Details Trail ride for a Fundraiser - proceeds to Leeds & Grenville O.S.P.C.A. The Rooney s Poker Run is not a race. Horse and rider teams have up to 4 hours to complete the course. Start time is 10 am, with a mandatory rider meeting at 9:30 am. Our ride should be concluded by 1:30. BBQ to follow & prizes to be won! * Limited spaces available - 1st come 1st serve * Relaxed, scenic ride - walk, trot * All riders must have proof of OEF membership or off-farm liability * Minor riders must wear proper footwear and a helmet * We also recommend adult riders wear a helmet and proper footwear * No dogs allowed Additional Poker Run Rules & How it Works!!!! Participants must go to all five stops on the poker run course. Your poker run participation coupon will be stamped at each stop to ensure that you have completed the course. At each stop the participant will hand their official participation card to the volunteer at the card stop. The participant then will select their card. It will be marked on your participation card, the card will be returned to the rider and you will carry on to the next stop. It is the rider s responsibility to keep their participation card. If it is lost during the ride the rider will not be eligible for the poker hand prizes. When you have completed all five stops you are ready to hand your participation card in to the registration booth. Your participation card will be valued by one of our officials. Poker hands are valued from best to worst as follows: 1. Royal Flush 2. Straight Flush 3. Four of a Kind 4. Full House 5. Flush 6. Straight 7. Three of a Kind 8. Pair 9. High Card All horses that kick must wear a red ribbon in their tails to warn other riders. Please keep a safe distance between other horse & rider teams at all times. No alcohol is to be consumed on the trails. No smoking or garbage on the trails please. No dogs allowed please. Bring your own hay & water buckets for your horses. Water stations are available for your horse. Remember to clean up after your horse around your horse trailer. We want to leave the parking areas as clean as we found them. Ensure that your tack is in good condition and properly fitted to your horse. What happens in an emergency?

Who is a minor rider? Equine Canada Section A General Regulations rules for headgear. All person(s) under the age of 18 years are classified as a Junior A901, and therefore must wear SEI or ASTM or BSI approved headgear A905. ARTICLE A905 HEADGEAR 1. Junior competitors must wear properly fitted, approved protective headgear, with the safety harness correctly secured at all times while mounted or riding on an horsedrawn vehicle on the competition or event grounds. Approved headgear must be certified by SEI or another testing body that it meets the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) standard or the British Standards Institution (BSI) standard. a) This ruling applies at Primary, Provincial and National EC-sanctioned competitions. b) Juniors not complying with this rule will not be allowed to compete in competitions that require approved headgear. 2. It is strongly recommended that all persons wear approved headgear at all times while mounted or driving cross-country or marathon. 3. Any competitor may wear protective headgear in any division or class without penalty from the judge. 4. All persons riding over fences or driving in Marathon competitions anywhere on the competition grounds must wear protective headgear secured with a safety harness permanently affixed to the helmet. Harnesses must be secured and properly fitted. 5. EC makes no representation or warranty expressed or implied about any protective headgear and cautions riders that serious injury or death may result despite wearing such headgear as all equestrian sports involved inherent risk and no protective helmet can protect against all foreseeable injury.
