Introduction into MCSC Mini Kickers. Mini Kickers was created to assist our young players in developing their experience, skills and understanding of the game in a fun, nurturing environment. The programme is now very much part of the player pathway, with young players able to stay within the MK Academy for up to 3 years before progressing along the pathway into competitive club football. MCSC Mini Kickers has been running for over 5 years now with over 400 children aged between 3 and 7 taking part in the programme. For the coming season we have developed an award scheme for both attendance and achievement within the sessions. We have also developed a new Mini Kickers playing shirt which are available to all members. Further details are outlined within this booklet, but if you do have any additional questions, please ask a member of staff or call Matty on 01653 605365 The 2016-17 Mini Kickers Calendar Autumn Term Spring Term Summer Term Week 1 17th September 14th January 6th May Week 2 24th September 21st January 13th May Week 3 1st October 28th January 3rd June Week 4 8th October 4th February 10th June Week 5 15th October 11th February 17th June Week 6 22nd October 18th February 24th June Week 7 5th November 4th March 1st July Week 8 12th November 11th March 8th July Week 9 19th November 18th March 15th July Week 10 26th November 25th March 22nd July Week 11 3rd December 1st April 29th July Holiday Sessions This season there will be half day holiday sessions in addition to Saturday morning mini kickers. The Sessions are open to any Mini Kicker in Reception or Year One and run from 10am 12.30am at a cost of 6.50. The dates are Thursday 28 th October, Thursday 23 rd February, Thursday 13 th April & Thursday 1 st June.
Saturday Morning Timetable 1 st Session- 9.30-10.15am (Age 3 on Sept 1 st ) 2 nd Session- 10.20-11.20am (Reception/Foundation School Year) 3 rd Session- 11.25-12.25am (School Years 1). Payment Each 11 week term is 49.50 and this needs to be paid in full at the latest on the day of Week One of that term. Any new children have a two week come and try taster. If after the two weeks you decide not to continue with the rest of the term then you don t need to pay for the full block you simply pay 9 for the two sessions your child has attended. Parents need to re-register their Mini Kicker for the next block of sessions on weeks 7 and 8 of the current block. MCSC will display the week number on the sports hall door each Saturday, with a reminder for renewals from week 7. What does your Mini Kicker need to bring? Any kind of sports kit with indoor trainers is more than enough, whether that be t-shirt with shorts or joggers. All children need to bring a drink with them. Shin pads are recommended for the 2 nd and 3 rd sessions but are not essential and AstroTurf trainers are also recommended, as the 2 nd and 3 rd groups will use the outside 3G football pitch on good weather days. Parents in the first group also need to make sure you have the correct footwear as you will be needed to take part in some of the activities we do. Certificate s and Awards From September we will award the children with Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. The Bronze Award is for attending one block of Mini Kicker sessions during the 2016-17 season, Silver for two sessions and Gold for all three. If your Mini Kicker misses sessions due to illness or holiday for example, don t worry they will still receive their award. Bronze Award- MCSC Mini Kickers Medal, Silver Award- MCSC Mini Kickers Trophy Gold Award- Puma Football. Bronze, Silver and Gold Stickers will also be awarded on a weekly basis rewarding players for anything from effort, improvement and good behaviour to scoring a fantastic goal, showing some brilliant skills or a superb goal celebrations. End of season awards will also be presented to The Star Player, Most Improved and Coach s Award.
Mini Kicker Puma Training Shirts On Weeks 1, 2 and 3 of the autumn term sessions we will be taking orders for the Mini Kicker Shirts, This year the shirt will be Puma and feature the Mini Kickers logo on the front along with your child s name and number of their choice on the back, costing 20. This can be ordered and paid for at the MCSC Reception. If you would like to order a t-shirt before the new season of Mini Kickers kicks off Matty will be making an order on Tuesday 30 th August. Player Pathway into Local Clubs Once our Mini Kickers get to the end of school year one many young players progress into Junior local football clubs, Over the past five years around 150 players have gone onto play for Brooklyn FC, Old Malton St Mary s FC and Heslerton FC. Pictured below is our 2015-2016 Mini Kickers Academy in their last session, the vast majority moving into local junior clubs this season.
