STONEHAM GOLF CLUB Stoneham Golf Club nestles in a beautiful undulating heath and parkland setting to the north of Southampton. Hidden amongst the trees in a deer park, it provides a spectacular setting to play golf and provides fast true greens. Stoneham offers an excellent golfing challenge to golfers of all standards. The testing qualities of the course prove a memorable talking point to visiting golfers as they relax in the Clubhouse, as does its superb catering and friendly atmosphere. Every Society Day at Stoneham Golf Club can be tailor made to suit your needs to make your day as successful as possible. We can offer a variety of golf and catering options; a refreshing coffee on arrival through to a full English breakfast, a light snack, buffet or full lunch can be offered during the day, finishing with supper or a full dinner as required. Our Caterer is available to assist with all your party s catering requirements. Our Professional, Ian Young, and his staff are always on hand to help. The shop stocks a wide range of equipment and clothing, some of which would make ideal prizes for your Golf Day. Our Manager, Richard Arnold, and Assistant Manager, Jayne Wilding, are also readily available to ensure that your day goes as smoothly as possible and will be pleased to help you with the planning of your day. USEFUL INFORMATION All prices are per person and include VAT. A non-refundable deposit of 100 is required to confirm your reservation. Provisional bookings are held for one calendar month. Everyone in your group is required to have the same menu selection & we would ask that your choice be given at least one week in advance of your event. We can of course cater for any special dietary requirements. Confirmation of final numbers is required two days prior to the event. The final account will be calculated on these numbers. Please note that food not cancelled within 48 hours will be charged. Scorecards can be provided in advance and a display board can be provided for your tee time/results. On arrival, please go to the Manager s Office where Ian, or his Assistant, Ali, will meet you to confirm details of your day. We ask that your invoice is settled before you go out to play. Cheques are payable to Stoneham Golf Club, we do accept cash and all major credit cards. Play can begin from 8.30am in the Summer or 9am in the Winter. Competitions may be played from yellow or white tees by request, but we would suggest that the higher handicaps may find it more enjoyable from the yellow tees. Please let us know if you require Nearest The Pins & Longest Drives so that we can have them pre-positioned on the course for you. Please ensure you keep to your allocated tee times. If you are late for your reserved time you will have to alternate with members and other visitors. We use a colour system to indicate the position of the flag on the green: Red flag front third of the green Yellow flag middle of the green White flag back of the green Individual competitions can only be played in 3 balls. Each group/match should aim to play 18 holes in no more than 4 hours. We have a small number of valuables lockers available for visitors. These can be found directly in front of you when you enter the locker room from the car park. Visitors are strongly advised to check that they are adequately insured. Trolleys & Buggies can be hired from the Club Professional. The Organiser of each party is responsible for ensuring that everyone with his group knows about the dress code, mobile phone usage, pace of play etc. Please ensure that you pass this information on as it prevents embarrassment later on. DRESS CODE The policy of Stoneham Golf Club is to set a smart yet congenial atmosphere alongside the traditions and heritage of our great game. Please assist us by ensuring that you and your guests adhere to this policy when visiting the Club Lounge The minimum standard is smart casual clean clothing at all times - no golf shoes, spiked or otherwise, hats, wet or soiled clothing or golfing rainwear. Socks & shoes are to be worn at all times. Restaurant Formal dress (jacket & tie or equivalent) is required after 7pm on each evening. Clean golf wear is acceptable during the day. Shorts may be worn in the Restaurant until 7pm. Shoes & socks are to be worn at all times. Golfing rainwear or outdoor clothing is not acceptable. ALL GOLFERS MUST CHANGE OUT OF THE CLOTHES IN WHICH THEY HAVE PLAYED GOLF. The Course Smart golfing clothing, which may include tailored shorts not brightly patterned and with a length not more than three inches above the knee. Shirts are to be tucked in at all times. Gentlemen, when playing in shorts, may wear either predominantly white ankle length sports socks or long single colour hose socks. Proper golfing footwear is to be worn. Unacceptable Dress The following forms of dress are deemed to be unacceptable anywhere on the course or premises: Stockinged or bare feet Football/rugby shirts and shorts, tracksuits & trainers Tee shirts or shirts without collars Denim clothing Cargo pants, combat trousers & trousers with drawstring waists or legs. The wearing of shirts outside trousers Wearing hats back to front or indoors The Manager and Staff are required to determine the appropriateness of dress both on and off the course and in such cases their decision is final. We thank you for your Co-operation MOBILE PHONE CODE Clubhouse For the comfort and consideration of others, mobile phones cannot be used in the Lounge, Restaurant or on the patio, but they may be used in the foyer or in the car park and locker rooms. Mobile phones should be switched off or to silent when in the Lounge, Restaurant or on the patio. It is recognised that sometimes people forget and provided the phone is either switched off immediately or answered away from the Lounge, Restaurant or the patio, the ringing will not be considered a breach of our mobile phone code, although of course answering would! Course Mobile phones are not to be used on the golf course out of consideration for your fellow golfers. However, for reasons of safety we recommend that mobiles phones are carried on the course, but they must be switched off or to silent.

Out Of Southampton Follow the A33 out of Southampton to the M3. When you arrive at the roundabout at the end of the avenue with a Texaco garage in front of you turn right into Bassett Green Road. After 1/2 mile you will find Monks Wood Close on the left with a signpost indicates the entrance to the Club. Go across the bridge & follow the road round to the left to find the car park. From the West Take the M27 and exit Junction 5 turning right into the A335 towards Southampton. At the first traffic lights turn right into Bassett Green Road. After 1 mile you will find Monks Wood Close on the right with a signpost indicates the entrance to the Club. Go across the bridge & follow the road round to the left to find the car park. From the East Using the M27 again exit at Junction 5, turn left towards Southampton and follow the same instructions as if coming from the West. From the North Follow the M27 to either Portsmouth or Bournemouth and filter into the A33 towards Southampton after 1/2 mile. At the Chilworth roundabout turn left into Bassett Green Road.
