Competition Itinerary #2 US Naval Academy Stadium 304 Farragut Road Annapolis, MD 21401 The following is important information regarding our next competition, Saturday October 6, 2012. QOHS Marching Band Itinerary 9:45am-11:15am Rehearsal 11:15am Load Equipment Truck/Buses (Meal Break on your own; students will NOT have another time to eat until after our performance; students are not allowed to eat or drink while wearing uniforms; water is the only exception). 12:30pm Load buses, take attendance 12:45pm Depart QOHS 1:45pm Arrive @ US Naval Academy stadium 3:44pm Showtime!!! QO performs 4:26pm Awards Ceremony - We will remain in uniforms for awards. 5:00pm Load equipment truck & buses 5:30pm Depart Annapolis, MD 6:45pm Estimated return to QOHS ***Students should dress for the weather! Several layers underneath our uniform will keep students warm or loose clothing to stay cool. TICKET INFO (for parents & families) Tickets for this event are $15.00 each. All parents and family members wishing to purchase tickets should purchase from us and not the gate (at the venue). These advanced tickets are not available for all events, so please take advantage of this opportunity. Tickets are available Monday-Friday from Mr. Proctor or Ms. Kirchhoff in the music office. Please pay in cash with exact change. We only have 50 advanced tickets available so get yours early. VIDEO CAMERAS The official US Bands policy states that no video cameras are allowed at competitions. This is mainly due to the fact that at some events US Bands has professionals recording the event for DVD sales. Most likely a DVD of the performance will be for sale. Marine Corps Invitational Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium 304 Farragut Rd. Annapolis MD 21401 Saturday, October 6, 2012 Event Manager Sean King 610-554-0633 sking@yea.org Registration Upon Arrival Please have Band Staff or a Band Booster Officer check in at the designated Registration area. This will be located near the entrance to the Bus Parking lot. Please be prepared with unsold tickets to be returned (if necessary) and the Pink colored sheet to reconcile sold and unsold tickets. Tickets that have been sold should be paid for and any unsold tickets are to be returned at this time. Tickets that are unaccounted for are to be returned or paid for. Checks can be made out to USBands. Parking and Event Flow Buses will enter gate 2 off of Farragut Road. Parking diagrams as well as the entry and exit of the performance area can be found on the Site Overview Map. Spectators are not allowed to park in areas marked Buses and Trucks. Warm-Up Information Schedule After Registration, you will be directed to the designated warm-up zones. You will also receive any updates that have been made to the schedule during this time. Metronomes and gock blocks will only be permitted if their use does not interfere with the performances inside the stadium. Please direct all warm-up noise away from the stadium. Please be sure to check the schedule at http://trigonroad.com/yea/schedule.cfm prior to the day of the event in case any changes have occurred. Your band needs to arrive at the Band Entrance Gate 10 minutes before your scheduled performance time. It is your responsibility to arrive on time. It is approximately a 5-minute walk from the warm-up area to the gate. Bands must enter, perform and exit within their allotted time. Credentials for Entry and Field Access Only those with a USBands Director or Band Staff credential will be permitted on the field during their band s performance. These credentials will also give the band staff access into the spectator seating area. All other adults must enter the stadium with a ticket through the main entrance.

Motorized Vehicles and Props Motorized vehicles moving equipment on and off the field must be in proper working condition and equipped with a diaper (a covering to ensure that there is no leakage) if gas powered. All front ensemble and prop equipment that is being rolled onto the field must have large inflatable tires or tires with a minimum of 8-inch wheels (pneumatic wheels/casters). Any equipment with smaller wheels must be lifted and placed into position. The use of fire extinguishers, water that comes into contact with the field, live animals and pyrotechnics (including fire batons) are prohibited at all USBands shows. This also includes anything that may result in debris left on the field. Any damage to the field surface will result in a penalty. Hash Marks Rain Plan The field will be equipped with Hash Marks at 53 4 (High School) as well as 60 (NCAA) from the sidelines. In the event of inclement weather, please remain on the buses until you receive instruction from the show coordinator. If in warm-up, please proceed to the concourse of the stadium and await further instruction. Band Re-Entry and Seating Band members may re-enter using Gate P. They must either enter in uniform or as a group with a USBands-credentialed Staff Member or Chaperone. Bands are asked to sit as a group. Judge Feedback and Critique The judges will provide feedback about your band s performance in the form of written adjudication sheets and recordings in your drop box folder. You can pick up your tapes at the trophy table on the 50 yard line. Adjudication sheets will be distributed prior to critique. Critique will begin after the conclusion of the last band s performance and will be conducted in the performance order of the event. The designated critique area will under the pavilion near the Spectator Entrance. Three members of each band s staff will be permitted to enter the critique room at a time. The band staff will rotate through 3 adjudicator stations: Music, Visual and Effect. Each station will last 5 minutes. Please notify a USBands staff member if you will be unable to participate in critique. Spectator Information Parking Spectator Parking can be found on the Site Overview Map. No personal vehicles will be allowed to park in the Bus Parking lot. Parking for this event is $10. Tickets Tickets can be purchased on the day of the event at the box office near the Spectator Entrance for a cost of $15.00 each. Cash, Check, Credit and Debit Cards are all accepted. Children under the age of 6 will be admitted free of charge. Tickets are also available prior to the event directly through your band. Please contact your director for more information. Copies of the performances will be available for purchase in the weeks following the event. Order forms will be available in the souvenir area. *Please only leave and return to your seat between performances so as not to distract other spectators. All of our participating bands are comprised of young adults who work extremely hard and accomplish great things. Please do not hesitate to cheer and applaud all of the performers in their efforts!
