Tailgaters enjoy Saturday evening Polo at Prestonwood elcome to our 2012 Prestonwood Polo magazine, we are excited about another great year of polo. Thanks to all of you who visited us last year and we hope those who haven t visited us yet will come take advantage of this unique jewel in the heart of your community. Polo is the greatest of the equestrian sports. There s nothing like the experience of thundering hooves while overlooking 100 acres of lush green landscape. A polo field is the size of 10 football fields, 1,000 feet by 500 feet! We are the best tailgate in the 380 corridor so bring your family, friends, neighbors and enjoy the traditional polo halftime champagne divot-stomp. Each Saturday we have polo teams playing for the communities in the 380 corridor including: Savannah, Providence, Cross Oaks, Paloma Creek, Eagles Landing and Emerald Sound, so come cheer on your polo team. Our season opens Saturday April 28 and will run through June 30. In July we will have our popular kids camp and exhibition games so be sure to go to our website and sign-up your kids early. The fall season will start Saturday September 8 and run through November 3. Our Saturday nite polo format will be the same this year with 8 chukkers of polo separated by the crowd favorite champagne divot-stomp; and we will continue to have two major charity events each season: Spring Polo on the Lawn, May 5 Polo for the Planet, June 9 Fall Polo on the Midway, Sep 29 Texas-OU Weekend College Polo Fundraiser, Oct 13 Prestonwood Interscholastic Polo team in action Photo Credits: Walter Workman, Lisa Ingison, Jay Davis, Linda McKinney, Dena Miller, Lisa Stemaly, Rob Sydor Prestonwood Polo and Country Club 525 Yacht Club Road Oak Point, Texas POLOLINE 972.628.7955 New this year, we will have an Easter on the Lawn outdoor worship service by Cross Way United Methodist Church, including a Sunday brunch and polo exhibition game. Bring your family and join us for this amazing community gathering and celebrate Easter! Exciting news this year was the formation of our Prestonwood Interscholastic polo team. Area kids in grades 5-12 competed to make our team for a chance to play in the United States Polo Association National Interscholastic Tournament. Coached by club owner, Vaughn Miller (2-goals), the Prestonwood Interscholastic team had a great season finishing with a 4-1 record and earning 3rd place overall in the Central Region. Prestonwood was the youngest team to advance that far in the National USPA Interscholastic Open tournament. Also new is the announcement that TCU has asked Vaughn Miller to Coach their USPA Intercollegiate team. The TCU collegiate players will practice and train at the Prestonwood facility and compete in the 2013 National Intercollegiate tournament. USPA Interscholastic and Intercollegiate polo is played in the Prestonwood arena during the winter months. The saying is true life is good at Prestonwood! Sincerely, Vaughn and Dena Miller
