Followed by a large cortege of relatives and other friends, the remains were taken to Immaculate Conception church, where solemn requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. C. W. McDonald, P.P., with Rev. A. Beaton as deacon, Rev. J. Gillis as sub-deacon, and Rev. A. McAdam as master of ceremonies. The remains were taken after mass and laid to rest in Ocean Avenue cemetery, Rev. Joseph Gillis, C.C., officiated at the graveside. The many spiritual offerings, floral offerings and many messages of condolence recieved by the bereaved family testified to the high esteem in which the late Mr. Mackie was held in by all who knew him. She was a member of St. Eugene's Church and through the years was active in community and parochial affairs. Boutilier, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed residents of that place. She is survived by her husband; five daughters: Mary Jane (Mrs. James MacLEOD, Boston; Mary Catherine (Mrs. Norman MacKIE), Reserve Mines; Theresa (Mrs. Ignatius MacADAM), Anna (Mrs. Leo MacKIE), Mildred (Mrs. Harold MacDONALD); three sons: Ronald, Aloysius, all in the Gardiner; and Fred, Dominion; a brother - Fred BOUTILIER, Sydney Mines; and stepsisters: Mrs. Joseph GOUTHRO, Mrs. John Y. MacNEIL. There are 30 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The remains are reposing at Curry's Funeral Home, Main Street, and the burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
