CONTINUING FROM 2014 PONY CLUBBERS HAVE SHOWN ADMIRABLE RESPONSIBILITY IN CLEANING STALLS BEFORE LEAVING THE SHOW. FOR 2015 WE WILL CONTINUE TO WAIVE THE DEPOSIT. IF IN THE RARE CASE A STALL IS NOT CLEANED WELL ENOUGH, A $35 CLEANING FEE WILL BE CHARGED TO THE OFFENDING CLUB. THIS FEE WOULD HAVE TO BE PAID BEFORE ANY MEMBER OF THAT CLUB CAN PARTICIPATE IN A PONY CLUB SANCTIONED EVENT. 4. CATEGORIES AND ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE Each rider will enter the Competition by Division as suggested by Pony Club Level. YOU MAY ENTER THE SAME DIVISION AS LAST YEAR, EVEN IF YOU PLACED FIRST LAST YEAR. Good sportsmanship suggests that if you win two years straight, you should move up, unless you are showing a different horse. 5. If a rider with a new or inexperienced horse cannot safely compete at their level of ability, they may ride at a lower level and will be considered hors-concours (no placing or prizes awarded) unless they qualify for the Novice Horse Division. Riders may ride up if they wish but may not ride down in divisions (exception hors concours rides). Once a rider has placed 1 st or 2 nd at a level higher than their tested level, they cannot return to their previous level on that horse. 6. CANCELLATION/ REFUND POLICY: Withdrawal from the competition prior to the entry deadline date will be refunded, less a $15 administration charge, to the registrant s branch. Requests for refunds must be made in writing by the registrant s DC on or before the entry deadline date. Withdrawals after the official entry deadline date, accompanied by a vet or doctor s note, will be refunded, less a $15 administration charge, to the registrant s branch. To be eligible for a refund, registrants must notify the show organizing committee of their withdrawal on or before the show date. Requests for refunds must be made in writing by the registrant s DC (and accompanied by a veterinarian or doctor s note) no later than one week after the show date. DC s PLEASE EMAIL jrawn@xplornet.com for withdrawals. To withdraw, please contact your DC who will contact the show committee. 7. WARM UP PRIOR TO COMPETITION Indoor & outdoor warm up will be available on Friday at 2:00 p.m. There will be no indoor warm up available during the day once competition in the rings commences. All riders require suitable adult supervision.

8. COMPETITOR DRESS AND TACK Riders and their tack should be neat, clean and tidy! A completed medical armband is mandatory and must be worn on left arm or leg. A CPC pin is to be worn on the left lapel with the appropriate color backing for tested riders. All riders must wear a correctly fitted helmet approved to current safety standards (ASTM/SEI) with the harness securely attached at all times while mounted. Half chaps may be worn with same color paddock boots. Shirts must be light coloured with a stock tie, rat catcher with choker, or dress shirt with tie and may be long or short sleeved. In the event it is extremely hot, Judges may allow the rider to ride without jacket. In this event, long sleeves are recommended, but not required. No sleeveless shirt, including tank tops are permitted. No choker pins allowed. Gloves are required at all times when mounted or lunging. Hair must be tied back and placed under the helmet or held in place with a hairnet, braid or bun. 9. TACK CHECK - Tack check must be completed before each riding competition and may be requested after each test. Show Stewards may request the removal of protective gear as part of the compulsory tack check. Saddle pads are to be white or black, not colored for Dressage. Colored pads may be used for jumping classes. CPC allows the use of a kimberwick bit in the Entry and Starter Dressage levels only and in all Jumping Classes. Should the kimberwick have slots on the rings, they are not to be used; the reins must be attached directly to the main ring. All tack requirements are clearly stated on the Canadian Pony Club website. If discrepancies arise, the CPC rules will apply. 10. BRIDLE NUMBERS - All horses must have their competition number in place when they are out of the stable for the entire time they are on the show grounds. Competition number to be clearly marked on stall card. 11. Lunging is not permitted in the general schooling area with mounted riders. 12. Two-way communication devices are prohibited in the competition ring and discouraged in the schooling areas as they may interfere with devices used by show organizers. Competitors are prohibited from wearing cell phones or ear pieces while mounted anywhere on the show grounds for safety reasons. 13. If a competitor falls off their horse they are eliminated from that round. They may not remount or take a courtesy fence. The competitor must be checked by first aid personnel to determine if they may ride another round. Riders who fall in the warm up/exercise area must be checked by first aid personnel before remounting. 14. In the spirit of good sportsmanship, appeals, protests and objections are discouraged but if necessary must be made in accordance with Section 1.7.3 of the Canadian Pony Club Jumping Rules 2010. If an error has been made during the judging of the competition (ex. miscalculated faults), the error must be reported immediately to a member of the organizing committee, and the correction, if needed, must be made. If the reason for the protest occurs outside of the competition ring, the organizing committee must be informed immediately regarding the reason for the appeal. The organizing committee must look into the reason for the protest and decide what course of action should be taken. In a case where the organizing committee does not take action and the protestor feels the situation has not been resolved to their satisfaction, they may make an official protest. Official protests must be made in writing and addressed to the organizing committee within one hour of the occurrence. The protest must be accompanied with a deposit of $100.00 cash. In the event the Ground Jury sustains the protest, the deposit shall be returned to the protester. In the event the protest is not sustained, the deposit shall be forfeited to the organizing fund for the competition. The Ground Jury will give their decision after investigation of the protest and that decision will be final. All complaints must be made in writing to the Regional Chair within three months of the competition date. For full details see rule A1206 Gen. Regulations. COMPLAINTS TO SHOW OFFICE MUST BE MADE BY CLUB DC ON BEHALF OF MEMBER COMPLETE WITH $100 CASH - NO PONY CLUB MEMBER OR PARENT TO COMPLAIN TO OFFICE! 15. Horse Eligibility: All horses/ponies entered are eligible under the following criteria: No horse under 5 years of age is eligible. No stallions are allowed. All horses must have been regularly ridden at Pony Club meets by the member and so certified by the District Commissioner at the time of entry. The borrowing of outstanding "name horses" is not allowed, unless the horse has been out of competition for at least 2 years and is regularly used by the member for Pony Club activities. Strict adherence to these last rules is left to the honor and good judgment of the Regional Show Committee. If officials determine that they will allow a horse to be shared in the jumping or dressage competitions the rings will not be held. Please indicate on the entry forms who is sharing which mount (circle horse name), and what divisions they are entered in and provide a summary of the reason(s) for the requirement to share.

16. It is strictly forbidden for any person who is not a Pony Club member or a member of an Equine PSO that has signed a nonmember acceptance of risk form, to ride a horse anywhere on the competition grounds for the duration of the event. Non-adherence to this rule will result in disqualification of the horse/competitor from the competition. 17. As per Pony Club rules, no riding bareback, no riding with halters and no riding double. No galloping or racing on site. Rider competitor number must be worn at all times when horse is on grounds and not in stall. Horses must be attended while tied ANYWHERE on site and cannot be tied where adequate containment from public areas (ex. roadways) is not provided. 18. HORS CONCOURS We will accept hors concours rides if numbers permit. The same fees will apply and the ride will be designated as such both on the entry form and at the show. Hors concours rides will be at the end of the order. 19. AWARDS Ribbons may be to 6 th place or appropriate place for smaller classes. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to split or combine classes. The Organizing Committee requires all placed competitors be in show attire for Award presentations. Those presentations will happen following the conclusion of Divisions and Classes throughout the day whenever possible.
