Kliese (Chairman) & F R Worrad RACE 1: Richmond River Express Examiner Maiden Plate 1000m: Drotani Bumped shortly after the start. Glowing Feeling Near the 800m was steadied when crowded between Stormy Horizon and Legend Lass, which laid out slightly. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Legend Lass Began awkwardly. Raced fiercely in the middle stages and near the 700m was steadied and shifted out to avoid heels. Rounding the home turn was inclined to hang out. Lwazi Near the 700m was carried wider on the track by Stormy Horizon, which was hampered and taken outwards by Legend Lass, which when racing keenly was shifted out to avoid heels. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Muntij On jumping was eased when crowded. Torres Del Paine Stood flatfooted and missed the start (10L). Trainer Mr D Dwane was advised that the gelding would be required to compete in an official barrier trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to its next start. RACE 2: Ethan T Ensby Racing & Country Racing Syndications Maiden Handicap 1400m: Aimee s Game Raced wide in the early stages. Near the 1000m was momentarily hampered by Coup De Valor, which ran out abruptly. Trainer D Dwane was advised that a warning for being difficult to load would be placed on the racing record of the mare. Aussie Guetta Began awkwardly. Coup De Valor A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities. Rider Ms K Stanley subsequently reported that her mount may have choked down during the event. Trainer Mr E Ensby advised that he would apply a tongue tie to the mares approved race day gear in an endeavour to rectify the issue. Further Mr E Ensby advised that the mare would now be spelled.
Duckateer Near the 1100m was steadied to avoid the heels of Red Ragga (J Watkins), which shifted in when insufficiently clear. J Watkins was reprimanded for careless riding (AR137(a)). Near the 150m was shifted out around heels to continue forward. Hoshi Slow to begin and failed to muster in the early stages. Our Man Kane Approaching and passing the 500m was hampered when awkwardly placed on the heels of the weakening Aimee s Game. The Gunslinger Near the 800m was steadied after improving onto heels. RACE 3: Richmond Valley Meats Benchmark 50 Handicap 1000m: Battalion Hung out rounding the home turn. Final Bid Approaching and passing the 200m when being directed outwards into clear running, was inclined to lay in and was awkwardly placed on heels for some distance. Haven Angel Near the 300m was steadied and shifted out around the heels of Far Dooley (A Townsend), when crowded by that runner, which shifted in slightly when insufficiently clear. A Townsend was reprimanded for careless riding (AR137(a)). Hidden Rock Passing the 900m was steadied when hampered by Mannich. Mannich Shortly after the start attempted to buck. Trainer Mr G Nielsen was advised that a warning would be placed on the racing record of the gelding. Punjab Rocket Apprentice Ms C Dougherty was reprimanded for using her whip in a consecutive manner prior to the 100m (AR137A(5)(i)). RACE 4: Cross Miller & Wilkinson Accountants Class 2 Handicap 1200m: Cameo Rush Approaching and passing the 800m was continually restrained when awkwardly placed close to heels. Carry On Jake Raced wide throughout. Rounding the home turn ran wider on the track. Excellero A post race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Stable representative Mr V Bennett was advised that the mare would be required to undergo a ECG at resting and pending the results of such test would then be required to compete in an official barrier trial, under race day conditions to the satisfaction of the stewards and pass a veterinary examination post trial, prior to being permitted to start again. Jonny Feedback Near the 150m was momentarily inconvenienced by the weakening Flight to Glory and was shifted out to continue forward. RACE 5: The Bob Small Bridle Benchmark 65 Handicap 1900m: Bingo Bobby Approaching the first turn raced fiercely and got its head up when being restrained and during the middle stages continued to overrace.
Cool As Hel On jumping was steadied when severely crowded, clipped heels and as a result blundered badly and lost ground. Dubai Gee Eye Near the 300m was disappointed for clear running and was shifted inwards to continue forward. Floral Nomad Raced keenly in the early stages. Mr Scary Overraced during the early and middle stages. Shadow Rein Apprentice Ms C Baker was reprimanded for using her whip of six occasions prior the 100m, one more then permitted under the rules (AR137A(5)(ii)). Soaked Hampered shortly after the start. Tear Us Apart Approaching and passing the 200m raced greenly when placed under pressure. RACE 6: The Hotel Cecil Casino Gold Cup 1400m: Collaboration Raced wide without cover throughout. Right to Roam Approaching the 200m was momentarily held up for clear running. She Tells Lies When questioned regarding the tactics adopted between the 300m and 100m, rider M Paget stated he was given firm instructions to shift outwards at the top of the home straight in an endeavour to secure a clear passage in his run to the line. M Paget said rounding the home turn he was racing in a position inside the heels of Cash Spinner, in which he anticipated improving into a position where he would be able to carry that runner wider and obtain clear running. M Paget explained on straightening he rode forward with the intention of improving wider with Cash Spinner, however passing the 300m when attempting to improve between that runner and Right Roam, which shifted out in search of clear running, he was forced to restrain his mount for some distance when attempting to obtain a run where there was insufficient room for racing. M Paget added approaching the 100m he elected to shift inwards to continue forward, before being again held up for clear running over the concluding stages. M Paget said that in hindsight he should not have been persistent on attempting to obtain a run between Right to Roam and Cash Spinner, when there was the option for him to shift to the inside of Right to Roam into a position where a clear run eventuates. Trainer Mr L Clapham confirmed instructions and expressed his disappointment in the ride. Stewards concurred with the comments made by M Paget and agreed that he made a poor percentage move passing the 300m in pursuing a run where there was insufficient room for racing. RACE 7: PRD Nationwide Casino Class 3 Handicap 1400m: Astute Boy Passing the 200m was steadied to avoid the heels of the weakening Fast Track Magic. Fast Track Magic Raced wide throughout. Near the 200m was bumped slightly by Step Lightly, which shifted out.
Luna Tunes When questioned in regards to being ridden with vigour in the early stages and eventually leading the event and opposed to settling in a rearward position where the mare has been positioned in its most recent starts. Rider T Treichel stated he was instructed to ride his mount out the gates, as the mare has a tendency of being tardy to begin with the intention of settling in handy to midfield position. T Treichel explained after his mount began reasonably well from a wide barrier draw, he rode forward with vigour to eventually take up the lead to avoid being caught wide without cover, where his mount travelled comfortably in a prominent position. Trainer Mr S Randall confirmed instructions and explained he was surprised to see the mare lead the event. Trainer Mr S Randall was reprimanded for failing to report a change of tactics (AR135A). Further trainer Mr S Randall advised that he would instruct whoever is to ride the mare at its next start, if able, to attempt settle in a position just forward of midfield. Mile High Madam Approaching and passing the 1000m raced fiercely. Raced wide throughout. Roman Silver Passing the 200m was steadied when crowded between Astute Boy, which overreacted when shifted inwards to avoid the heels of Fast Track Magic (I Coombes), which shifted in slightly when weakening and Mile High Madam, which was carried outwards by With Every Bound (C Schmidt), which shifted out when being placed under pressure. Both C Schmidt and I Coombes were asked to exercise greater care in future and reminded of their obligation to stop and straighten their mounts in similar circumstances. With Every Bound Hung out rounding the home turn. Passing the 200m was inclined to lay out when being placed under pressure.
