A WELCOME NOTE Quebec City will be hosting one of the most important gatherings of geographers in Canadian history: the 2018 Congress of the International Geographical Union (IGU) - Canadian Association of Geographers (CAG) - National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE) Annual Conference. This exceptional meeting will be held from August 6 th to 10 th, 2018 at the Québec City Convention Center and will bring together more than 3,000 geographers from around the world working in the humanities, natural sciences and education. THE INTERNATIONAL GEOGRAPHICAL UNION (IGU) IGU, founded in 1871, is an international and professional organization that is devoted to the development of the discipline of Geography. Its main purpose is to promote geography by initiating and coordinating geographic research and teaching in all countries of the world. The IGU deploys its efforts through national committees, commissions and working groups.
