Open Riders should have a support person to pick up poles Event 1 - Two Phase Competition - Article 274.5.3 Pony Club (A,B,C,D,E,F Grade) Two Phase Competition - Article 274.5.3 Open (A,B,C,D,E,F Grade) 1. This Competition comprises two phases run without interruption, each at an identical or different speed, the finishing line for the first phase being identical with the starting line for the second phase. 2. The first phase is a course of seven to nine obstacles with or without combinations. The second phase takes place over four to six obstacles, which may include one combination. 3. Athletes penalised in the first phase are halted by ringing the bell after they have jumped the last obstacle or when the time allowed for the first phase has been exceeded, after crossing the finishing line of the first phase. They must stop after crossing the first finishing line. Unless eliminated, Athletes penalised in the first phase may continue in the second phase. 4. General Information and Conditions of Entry 1. Zone Championships draw of riding order will be posted on the website the Thursday night prior to the event. No changes will be made to rider s times after the draw is posted. 2. At the State Championships a team manager is required. This will be a parent or nominee of the first selected rider or a person nominated by the Zone Rep. 3. C Certificates: Riders who have been at pony club for at least two years and who have had their 14 th birthday must have their C certificate to ride at a state championship. 4. Riders may ride two horses competitively in Dressage and/or Showjumping. A rider with two horses must state on the entry form the order in which they wish to ride and must abide by the order of the draw. Acceptance of two horses will depend on entries and is at the discretion of the organising committee. If a rider qualifies for State with two horses, either both in the same discipline (dressage or showjumping), or one in each discipline, the rider will be asked after the Zone qualifying event to nominate their first preference. Their second preference may or may not be offered a place in a zone team. 5. Riders who qualify for state must have payment on the day of qualifier (this is 50% of the entry fee), and all the relevant info to complete paperwork. Reserve riders will be required to complete paperwork but do not need to pay unless they ride at state. All relevant information can be found on the PCV website. Midland Zone will not be chasing riders for money or to complete paperwork. 6. Armbands: Must be worn by all competitors. 7. Pony Club Uniform must be worn by Pony Club competitors and similar for Open Riders. 8. Pre-paid entry is required. No late entries accepted. No refunds after closing date except with Vet or Medical Certificate. A $5 handling fee will apply to refunds. 9. Entering this event constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance that current PCV rules apply and the conditions of entry. PCV rules may be found at www.ponyclubvic.org.au 10. Showjumping is to be held under Current PCV Rules refer PCV Showjumping rules 11. PCV Gear Rules as at January 2016 apply. 12. PCV club member cards are required to be presented to the secretary s office at least 30 minutes before riding in the first dressage test or showjumping event. 13. Horse Abuse rules apply in accordance with the current PCV Handbook of By-laws 14. Competitor Numbers: competitors to provide either: Back Numbers Bridle: on both the left and right side of the bridle Saddle cloth: on both the left and right side of the saddlecloth 15. All competitors must present for gear check at least 15 minutes before riding their first dressage test and/or their first showjumping class. Only one gear check per phase is required. 16. Plaiting is optional.
17. The Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel any class or event; divide any class; alter advertised times; refuse any entry, with or without stating the reason. 18. Strictly No Dogs. 19. All riders selected into a Midland Zone Team will wear Midland Zone Uniform and need to provide their own Black or White Saddle Blanket with the Midland Zone Logo attached. Riders are to purchase their own Uniform & Midland Zone logo. 23. Neither the Organising Committee of this event nor the PCV accepts any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property. 24. Lungeing is not permitted at this event. 25. Complying helmets must be worn. Spot check may be done. ASSA 3838 Standard EN1384 standard, made in 2015 or before EN1384 standard plus the VG1 standard VG1 standard ASTHF163 Standard 25. Open Riders: Participants do not need to pay $10 or fill in a Day Participant Waiver if they can prove they are a current member of: Pony Club Association of Victoria; Equestrian Australia* (EA); an Inter State Pony Club; Arab Horse Society of Australia (AHSA); Australian Endurance Riders Association (AERA); or can provide proof that they are covered by Public Liability Insurance Policy with a minimum of $10,000.000.00 26. All open section participants must sign a Public Liability Declaration form Clubs will be allocated jobs for the Zone Event by the Midland Zone. The onus is on the club to ensure their helpers are at their jobs on time.
