PETERBOROUGH RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB 2 0 1 4-15
Minis and juniors the centrepiece of the club PRUFC is proud of its foundation stage rugby without it we would only be a team The M&J section is the largest part of the club, and provides the platform for the rest of the club to progress Our M&J section starts out as mixed rugby, learning the same core values and skills together As the age groups get older so they then split in line with the RFU guidelines M&J rugby is about teaching children the values that society wants and needs being polite, being part of a team, respect, trust, camaraderie, passion, competition, being part of a family that can ultimately stay with you all your life Rugby provides physical exercise in a structured and safe environment, and allows children to express themselves and develop in a comfortable and open way; it builds character but most of all it makes people happy Age ranges from U6 to U16 Qualified coaches and development programmes Representative rugby Festivals, tournaments and club tours Social events for kids and parents
Welcome to the rugby family PRUFC Who are we? We are rugby in Peterborough. Formed originally back in 1868 and re-formed after WW1 as Peterborough Rugby Club Approaching 1,000 members Most Saturday s will see 4-5 senior men's teams fielded including our Colts (U18) side, the 1 st XV, 2 nd s, 3 rd s, as well as our Veterans side Each Sunday we field every age group in the mini and junior section from U6 through to U16, and a Senior Ladies team on a Sunday afternoon Typically the club sees an average of 1,500 people a week through the doors, plus outside functions and private hires We spend significant time working in the local community, running school tournaments for example. These cover every senior age group for boys, and now also include an annual touch tournament for girls from age 11 up We also run the annual RAF schools challenge, and provide coaching and support to local schools via our coaching network The club is now bringing on-board U13 and U15 girls squads, and looking to expand on this going forward We hold an annual mini and junior festival which attracts approx 1,500 visitors each year. This is the largest mini festival in the East Midlands area We hold representative training and matches at all levels from junior through to full senior East Midlands on our floodlit main match pitch and fully lit training area We have changing facilities for around 120 people including a segregated shower area for the ladies We also have a purpose built physio room and treatment centre at the club which is open for each training night and Saturday afternoons/sunday mornings
From this. to this. to this Our Aim Our aim is to provide the best possible facilities and environment for our members and guests to enjoy their chosen sport to the highest level they wish to attain. Over the years the club has produced a significant number of distinguished players such as Ron Jacobs, Jon Philips, Darren Fox, Matt Volland, and more recently England and Saints academy player Harry Morley. The list of players who have played representative rugby is considerable each and every year. Overall, we place high priority on providing high level coaching for all those who wish to participate, and a relaxed and very informal (most of the time) atmosphere where the whole family can feel at home and want to spend time. Rugby is all about community, family, fun and being part of something special why not come and join us?
Ladies and girls rugby the growing game Each year more girls are coming into rugby as players and coaches, and this is to be encouraged PRUFC has been heavily involved with the RFU in creating more opportunities throughout the region for development of the female game, and we are very fortunate to have a successful and growing ladies and girls section We plan to continue and enhance this growth and development Many of our ladies have become integral parts of the whole club, both socially and on the management team The same core values and attitudes are ingrained and exhibited in both sides of the game, male and female Our ladies play in the national leagues and cups, as well as the regional variations too Without our ladies section full RFU accreditation would have been difficult to achieve and certainly not mean as much as it does now!
So why become a sponsor, and what do you get in return?
