Welcome Thank you for choosing to participate in the South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club. We are very excited to have you as a part of our lacrosse family in the upcoming months! Our hope is that our passion and knowledge for the game of lacrosse will be passed on to each player over the season as well as throughout their entire lacrosse career. This handbook covers the CHAOS season of 09/01/2015 08/31/2016. Mission Statement Our mission at the South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club is to provide each player with a thorough understanding of the game of lacrosse, in a fun and challenging environment. We are dedicated to helping youth athletes learn life skills as well as instilling both athletic and personal excellence through focusing on mental toughness, a competitive atmosphere and team building. Our goals are to enhance each player s individual skills, team skills and knowledge of the game of lacrosse. Our focus will be to make sure each player enjoys their experience and learns to be successful by acknowledging the importance of playing as a team as well perfecting their lacrosse skills. A parent s informational meeting, for all age groups, will be on Sunday February 21st at York Suburban Middle School, at 4:00 pm. Items to Bring: Payment Full or 1 st Installment of 50%, if not completed already with on-line player registration Teams & Team Composition The South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club will have teams in the following age divisions: U9, U11, U13, U15, & High School. When there are enough players, there will be multiple teams, Royal and Lime, for an age division. Teams will be composed of the players that best fulfill the needed positions. The South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club will be looking for the most dedicated lacrosse players at each age division. Each team will consist of 18-21 players. Assessments will be held for all teams. Player Experience Preferences The South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club has the following experience preferences to be eligible to play for the teams in the various age divisions. The Spring 2016 season counts as one year. Players that do not meet the minimum experience eligibility requirements may be invited by a CHAOS Lacrosse Club Coach to try-out for their respective team. See Tryout information. U9 - two years minimum U11 - three years minimum U13 - four years minimum U15 - five years minimum 2018 & Varsity - six years minimum Assessments The South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club anticipates having a large number of players wanting to play at each age division. Assessments will be scheduled and held, for all age groups. They will be advertised at least three weeks ahead of time, with information being sent to all local school rec clubs. During assessments, players will be evaluated on individual skill execution, team skills, as well as intrinsic traits such as motivation, leadership and desire. Players will be selected based on what they do during the assessments and what we perceive their potential to be. We select players based on the criteria of athletic potential, attitude, work ethic, drive, willingness to be coached, leadership and lacrosse skills. It is suggested that players attend as many assessment sessions as possible. Tournament Schedule Players should arrive to each tournament game at least 30 minutes early, to get geared up, and go through warm-ups. If an entire tournament or a tournament game is going to be missed, a player or parent should notify the appropriate Head Coach, as early as possible U15 Royal Team Tournament Schedule: 2. Hogans Hershey; Hershey, PA; July 9 th 10 th For each tournament, separate plans by team will be made for each player bringing something, for providing drinks and food for the players and families. Practice Format & Schedule Practices will be held at one of four locations: (1) Cousler Park, (2) North Hills Elementary School, (3) Springettsbury Park, or (4) Central York High School Players should arrive to each practice at least 15 minutes early, to get geared up, so each practice can begin on time. If a practice is going to be missed, a player or parent should notify the appropriate Head Coach. Practices will consist of the following sections: 1. Individual skill work w/ team coaching staff and positional coaches 2. Physical training and conditioning 3. Team skill work 4. Team building exercises 5. Scrimmages Page 5 of 10 as of 02/16/2016

Exact practice schedules for each team will be determined at a later date/time. Teams will practice 1-2 days per week during the spring and 2-3 days per week after the spring lacrosse season ends. Practices will begin in early April. Club Fees Fees for the club season cover the following items: 1. Tournament entry fees 2. Club sponsored clinics 3. Club equipment, including but not limited to goals, nets, balls, sports training equipment, first aide inventory, and other specialized equipment & accessories JVHS Team - $365.00 U15 Royal Team - $300.00 U13 Royal Team - $365.00 U13 Lime Team - $365.00 U11 Royal Team - $365.00 U11 Lime Team - $365.00 U9 Team - $365.00 We will be utilizing the same uniform for the 2016 Summer season as was used during the 2015 Summer season. The uniform is a premium sublimated jersey and premium sublimated shorts. Full Uniform for New Players - $100.00 New Jersey for Returning Player - $60.00 New Shorts for Returning Player - $40.00 Pinnies will be worn during the Fall 2015 season and Winter Indoor 2015-2016 season. Spirit wear and other CHAOS items may also be ordered at additional costs, such as: 1. CHAOS Shooting Shirt 2. CHAOS socks 3. CHAOS helmets 4. CHAOS helmet wraps 5. CHAOS gloves & elbow pads 6. CHAOS shirts, sweatshirts & hats Fee Payment Schedule: 1. Full Payment or Deposit of 50% of total amount, needed on February 21st, 2016 2. Remaining amount due by April 30th, 2016 Any players invited after February 21st, 2016, will have 7 days to accept a roster spot, submit all paperwork, and make full payment or initial deposit. The same payment timeline applies, with the balance due by April 30th, 2016. Each individual family is responsible for all travel expenses to and from Page 6 of 10 as of 02/16/2016

tournaments and sessions, as well as all player equipment. Payment in full will be due by April 30th, 2016. If full payment is not received by the due date, you will not be allowed to attend any tournaments or practices until payment is received. Payment may be made by online PayPal payment, cash, check or money order. Checks or money orders should be made payable to South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club. In the memo field, write your child s name & team. Should your child decide to discontinue their participation with the South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club, or should it be decided that your child is no longer allowed to participate with the South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club due to a violation of rules and/or contract, then payment in full is still required. The commitment to the South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club, in the form of payment, is non-refundable. In extreme circumstances, players can make a request for a refund, to the President of the Club. It will be reviewed and acted upon by the Executive Board of the Club. Playing Time Equal practice time will be guaranteed for all players on each team. Playing time in tournaments will be at the discretion of each team s coaching staff. It will be dependent on focus, effort and attendance at practice, positional needs and standing within the program. Uniforms & Equipment As part of the club fees paid, each player will receive a premium sublimated reversible jersey and shorts, as well as a practice pinnie. 5. Mouth Guard 6. Cup 7. Stick 8. Cleats US Lacrosse Membership US Lacrosse membership is required for all players. Current membership will be validated as part of the registration process. Fundraising & Sponsorships The South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club looks to provide the best lacrosse experience for each player, from the standpoints of better each player s lacrosse skills and teamwork. We realize a program of this magnitude and quality is expensive, in terms of commitment of both time and money. Fundraising opportunities will be provided for each player, to provide the ability to lessen the costs needed to participate. At the end of a season, each player may request that any remaining credits be paid back, carried over for the next season, or transferred to another player. All requests should be done in writing or e-mail The board of directors for the South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club will engage each season in seeking to identify corporations and/or individuals who wish to become sponsors for the club. Outside Activities The South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club understands the fact that players and their families are engaged in a number of different activities, including summer vacations. For the good of each player and their team, it is important that each player attend as many practices as possible. When a practice or tournament must be missed for another activity, give advance notice to the head coach. Club Rules 1. While representing the South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club, all players are expected to behave in a responsible and mature manner. 2. Players are expected to play by the rules set forth by the NFHS for lacrosse, as well as all tournament specific rules. 3. Profanity, obscene gestures, taunting, disrespectful tones, and/or boastful celebrations will not be tolerated by any player. Page 8 of 10 as of 02/16/2016

4. Alcohol and tobacco use will not be tolerated. 5. Players are expected to demonstrate teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play. 6. No jewelry of any kind may be worn during practices or tournaments. 7. All players must go through a dynamic warm-up period before practices and tournaments. 8. Any player involved in any illegal actions (i.e., illegal drugs, alcohol, etc.) during or between practices or tournaments, may be suspended from the program, forfeiting any dues in full. The South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club will not tolerate any actions that could potentially harm you or hinder the progression of the rest of the players. 9. Disrespect to coaches, managers or other players will not be tolerated. 10. Abuse of equipment and/or facility by any player will be reported to the club. The player will be held responsible for any damage that is a result of their actions. 11. All players are expected to treat everyone fairly regardless of gender, ethnic origin, race, religion or sexual orientation. 12. Harassment and/or hazing of any kind will not be tolerated. 13. Cell phone use is prohibited during practices unless permission is given by coaches. 14. All players will address the coaching staff first with any issues or concerns (i.e., injury, conflicts, concerns, etc.) 15. All players will be required to wear all necessary equipment at all practices and all tournaments. 16. All players are to remain in designated areas during practices. 17. Players are responsible for providing their own snacks and drinks during practices. 18. Transportation to and from practices and tournaments are the responsibility of the player and/or their family. 19. Players are responsible for paying for their registration fees and travel expenses. Parent Conduct Rules 1. In an effort to be positive role models, the South Central CHAOS Lacrosse Club will not tolerate hostile, aggressive confrontations between a parent and any official, or a parent and any coach, or a parent and any athlete, or a parent and any other parent, whether the coach, player or other parent is a member of CHAOS Lacrosse or not. Violation of this policy may result in the parent being removed or the player being dismissed from CHAOS Lacrosse. 2. All parents will be expected to follow the rules of each individual tournament, regarding the use of alcohol and tobacco. 3. It is inappropriate for a parent to approach other CHAOS Lacrosse members about a problem a player or parent is having with a Chaos Lacrosse coach, about objections to coaching decisions, or about disagreement with a Club decision. 4. Asking uninvolved persons to take sides in an issue is unfair to the third party and to the Club. Competitive team athletics, by its very nature, creates Page 9 of 10 as of 02/16/2016

situations where everyone may not be happy all the time. For the psychological health of the teams and the Club as a whole, grievances need to be handled between the parties involved and the decision makers in the situation. 5. Any member who is approached and asked to listen to or express an opinion about matters between two other parties in the Club is strongly encouraged to refer the complaining party to take the matter up with the appropriate Head Coach or the Vice President - Operations. 6. Any member who, as a third party, hears remarks or stories about CHAOS Lacrosse, its staff, players, or its policies, that cause the member to be concerned, is encouraged to contact the appropriate Head Coach and/or the Vice President - Operations. 7. If you, as a parent, are unhappy or concerned about any matter within the Club, you are encouraged to contact one of the main contacts for the Club. Page 10 of 10 as of 02/16/2016
