Next regular meeting: Thursday, July 27, 2017 will be held at MCL Cafeteria, 3630 South East Street Indianapolis (US 31- N of Southern Plaza between Sumner & National). Meet for dinner at 6pm, meeting at 7pm. A Map Quest link is available on the IMC website www.indymoparclub.com. Fletcher / Indy Mopar Cruise-In Member Profile for July The 14th annual Fletcher/Indy Mopar Cruise-In is in the record books and rightly so. First, great weather leads to a great turnout of vehicles. I don't think we could have had better weather, though some may have been turned off by Friday night's storms. We had a good group of people helping with the setup starting about 8:00 in the morning. As usual, there were participants driving into the event before we even got our club's cars lined up on the front row. So, the parking team got an early start. Registration through Bill's area went very smoothly with him reporting about 150 cars actually at the event. Dave and Chet took care of the photography; and we all enjoyed seeing happy faces as we handed out the photos. Dick & Dorinda did the door prizes. Ronda's team handled the raffle, silent auction, 50/50, and extra ticket sales. Steve handled all of the money collections and will report the results at our meeting. The volunteer fire department provided plenty of food, the DJ provided the music and information, and the Franklin Fire Department had a fire engine there. Our host, JR Fletcher was very pleased with the cruise-in and thanked us for a job well done. We thanked him then for providing the entire used car area this year as well as his financial support for the event. IMC July 2017 Page 1

Bill & Randi Edgertons car Debbie & Jeff Platzer Then everyone was off to Rick & Ginger's place for the official wrap-up party, which was enjoyed by all. Evan shared his thoughts about the event and thanked everyone for their hard work. This event is also our prime fund raiser for JDRF; and they will be pleased with the results. Ginger Zimmerman So, thanks to everyone who was involved with the event from Dick, Bill, & myself. We also want to give a BIG shout out to Evan for all the extra effort he puts into keeping the club moving forward too! Respectfully, Rick Ordo From your Indy Mopar Club President: The 2017 Indy Mopar Club s biggest and best 14th Annual Cruise-In was WOW! What a Great show, awesome weather, plenty of membership involvement, abundance of onlookers, participants and displays. I IMC July 2017 Page 3

believe a wonderful time was had by all. The Fletcher people also expressed their deep gratitude and delight for this Cruise-In. Many thanks to all who helped make this year s Indy Mopar / Fletcher CDJR Cruise-In such a pronounced accomplishment. What a great job was done by all. Special thanks to our trio of front-runners for this event, Rick Ordo, Bill Edgerton and Dick Crawmer and wives for taking the organizational leadership reins for this event. The 2017 Cruise-In was a great success. Be proud for this was a great accomplishment. The post Cruise-In Cookout and pitch-in at Ginger and Rick Zimmerman s estate was a perfect wind down for such a perfect day. Even though we had many folks there, I only wish that everyone involved in the successes of the day and the IMC Club could have been present. Zimmerman s hospitality was, as always, outstanding. Camaraderie abounded and the food was excellent, only to be topped by Ricky Z s all night roasted pulled pork entrée. Thanks to the Zimmerman s and everyone present for a great wrap-up for a super day! IMC July 2017 Page 4

Breathless and speechless, I say again thanks to all of you for your help and participation! This is a great Club and I m looking forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting, Thursday, July 27 th at 7:00pm! Till then, drive carefully, be safe and Mopar or No Car. Evan Springer July, 2017 THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS Tony Fields is still having more ups and downs with heart issues. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. INDY MOPAR CLUB MONTHLY MEETING, June 29, 2017 WELCOME AND SIGN-IN: Club President Evan Springer started the meeting at 7pm with introductions of new members/guests preceding intros by the other members attending. Jan Peel took attendance. The meeting was attended by Chet & Kaye Branham, Chuck & Linda Butler, Ronda Cherry, Dick & Dorinda Crawmer, Bill Edgerton, Tom Kelly, Ken Malott, Scott Oller, Rick Ordo, Jan Peel, Jeff Platzer, Evan Springer, Bob Thomas, Steve & Cheryl Wisdom, and Rick Zimmerman. The intro topic was what project you have been working on recently, be it a car, home project or other. Evan mentioned his free Poly 318 engine project and the difficulty of disassembly even soaking it in penetrating oil for 4 weeks. He hopes to build a 4 stroker crank 391 cu. In. engine from it in the future for his 66 Plymouth. Evan requested that all members bring a 5 x 7 picture of their car with them, their spouse or their pets in it for the next meeting. This would be a great way for members to get to know each other a little easier. There was discussion of the Hemmings Great Race stop in Franklin on Tues June 27. Evan and a few members were able to stop and look at the vehicles as the tour rolled into town. Evan mentioned a particularly impressive 1960 Fury convertible that caught his eye. An event brochure featuring pics of all the tour vehicles was routed at the meeting. It was noted that IMC member Scott Oller had won a First Place award in the recent Plymouth Club National Meet with his Barracuda in the Modified Division. Congratulations were given Scott. There was no Secretary s Report as Dave Opel was on vacation. Steve Wisdom gave the Treasurers Report (current balance $4071.02 with $280.66 in the Flower Fund) and noted there are currently 62 members. IMC July 2017 Page 5

Randy Smith was not available but did send the Communications Report. Randy and new wife Ann were on their honeymoon at Glacier National Park. Randy noted a thank-you was due Jan Peel for again compiling and issuing the Club Roster with the newsletter in.pdf file format. The Roster was only sent to current dues paid members. An application and reminder was sent out to past members. Ronda Cherry provided member news, birthdays and anniversaries. Event Calendar highlights were discussed. Upcoming show flyers were routed. Unfinished Business discussion included the upcoming Fletcher Cruise-in Event Tee Shirt art that Car Arts had designed. The new club Registration Table banner for the club sign-up table (for events like the Indy Cyl Hd Show) was shown to the group. It was double side printed for registration & the IMC Logo for other events. Examples of the Fletcher Dash Plaque were also shown. Event shirts will be sold at the Cruise-in and 20 additional will be printed for Fletcher s employees. There was discussion about Raffle versus Silent Auction items and the proper mix to optimize donations for JDRF. There was discussion of some hesitancy on part to the Greenwood Suds management to display the Fletcher flyers because the date would be in conflict with their typical Saturday venue. It was noted that many Fletcher attendees end up driving to the Suds afterwards anyway so not felt to be an issue by the Club. There was discussion that it would be appropriate to provide free IMC membership to our Club sponsors, including Car Art, Indy Cylinder Head and Finer Details. Evan asked that those planning to attend the Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) Open House on Friday September 1 to please send him an email or phone him so he can provide them with a head count. Rick Ordo provided additional updates on the Fletcher Cruise-in on Saturday, July 8. Evan again asked all to try to obtain door prizes. Per Dick Crawmer, we gave away 50 door prizes last year. Workers signed up for various event tasks like registration, parking, etc. We will have two photographers this year and will give the pictures to the owners at the event and request donations. The local Fire Department will bring a ladder truck and Rick Ordo is working to get an antique Fire Truck from a local club. Volunteers should arrive between 8 and 8:30am. There will be no goodie bags this year. Steve Wisdom has contacted Katie at JDRF and requested a Kid Ambassador to attend the event. Rick Zimmerman announced that he and Ginger would have another Pitch-in Cookout at their home after the Fletcher Cruise-in again this year and all members were invited. Jan Peel requested that everyone review the Club Roster for accuracy and let her know if any corrections were needed. Evan asked if any additional comments. Motion to close the meeting was made and seconded. Minutes submitted by Tom Kelly (Dave Opel absent) Congratulations to Randy & Ann Smith on their marriage August 24, 2017 August Birthdays: Dorinda Crawmer, 8-5 Stephen Claycomb, 8-11 John Hynds, 8-11 Cindy Bush, 8-13 Kelly Quack, 8-22 August Anniversaries: Carlton & Regina Brock, 8-11 Dave & Cindy Sanders, 8-14 Chuck & Linda Butler, 8-23 Congratulations to all!
