bucs ThE STArThErE Established in 2006, the State College Spikes begin their fourth season as a Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. This state-of-the-art 5,570 seat facility is shared with the Penn State Nittany Lions Baseball Program, which competes in the Big Ten Conference, and is also open to the public for tailgating events during Penn State Football Saturdays. At Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, we provide quality baseball at affordable prices offering memory-making experiences with something for everyone from March through December. The Spikes have increased attendance in each of their first three seasons. Furthering the relationship with the Pittsburgh sports scene is the club s ownership group which includes former Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro running back, Jerome Bettis, and Pittsburgh Penguins Hall of Famer, Mario Lemieux.
