And we will be there to see the action at L Angliru. Although we keep rights to make changes in the itinerary when the 2017 Vuelta a España route will be officially revealed on January 12, 2017. Day 2 - Friday, September 8 Exploring Asturias La Cobertoria => San Lorenzo => La Farrapona => Puerta de Ventana Welcome to Northern Spain playground for hard-core cyclists. This part of Spain is fantastic green, scenic, sometimes wild and unexplored and hard! Most of the climbs have long sections with ramps over 15% and even 20%!!! Be ready for hard-core cycling every day. Today, we will head into the mountains to climb four climbs all popular and visited by the Vuelta in the past years. Tonight, we will have dinner in the hotel`s restaurant and we are sure the chief will surprise us with something tasty and Asturian. El Cordal => L Angliru (Vuelta LIVE) It is the day you came for you are going to watch the Vuelta LIVE. And nothing can be better to do it at the hardest climb in Europe L Angliru: Altitude: 5,160 ft / 1,573 m Length: 7,6 miles / 12,2 km Vertical climb: 4,085 ft / 1,245 m Average gradient: 10.1 % The steepest part, the Cueña les Cabres: 23.6 %!!! We will ride through two scenic gorges to a delightful village of Potes. Optional we can take a detour and ride the dead end road to Alto de Sotres which is going to be the summit finish of one of the 2017 Vuelta Stages. So far we know the Stage is going to start in Potes and finish at Los Machucos (Collado de la Espina) one more brutal climb for hardcore cyclists. It is only 13 km / 8 miles long but with a section of just 7 km / 4,3 miles at average 10-15% with ramps up to 28%!!! Are you keen to ride it? You will be provided with a transfer to Bilbao at the end of the day. You will be invited to have farewell dinner in a selected restaurant in Bilbao.
