LSA-BAWMBL Wall-Mounted Boom Arm INSTRUCTIONS 1

Precautions Do not exceed the maximum load capacity. Always engage safety locks and devices where applicable. Product should be used between -22 F and 140 F (-30 C and 60 C) only. Please read and follow these instructions, and keep this manual in a safe place. Keep this unit away from water and flammable gases or liquids. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the equipment doing so will void the warranty, and Impact will not be responsible for any damage. Handle the unit with care. Clean the unit with a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Keep this unit away from children. Use only parts provided by the manufacturer. Be certain that the boom arm is securely attached to the wall before proceeding. Make sure the item is intact and that there are no missing parts. All photos are for illustrative purposes only. 2

Introduction Thank you for purchasing the Impact LSA-BAWMBL Wall-Mounted Boom Arm. When this boom arm is securely mounted to a wall, you have a quick and safe way to mount a light or camera without setting up light stands or taking up valuable floor space. A 5/8 socket at the end of the arm holds a reversible stud with 1/4 and 3/8 male threads. The boom arm can extend from 48 to 87 and handle a load of up to 8 lbs. when fully extended. The arm offers a pan movement of 180 as well as a tilt movement of 180. Contents Include Telescoping boom arm 5/8 stud with reversible 1/4-20 and 3/8 male threads Removable cable clip Allen key Mounting hardware Mounting instructions One-Year Limited Warranty Specifications Boom length minimum Boom length maximum Maximum recommended load at full extension 48 (123 cm) 87 (221 cm) 8.0 lb. (3.6 kg) Pan movement 180 Tilt movement 180 Attachment type Weight two-position 5/8 removable stud with 1/4-20 and 3/8 male threads 5.0 lb. (2.3 kg) 3

Mounting a light to the boom arm Securely mount the boom arm to the wall. Be certain that the wall will support the weight of the boom arm plus whatever you plan to mount on the boom arm. 1. Loosen the locking knob and remove the mounting stud from the end of the boom arm. 2. Mount the light to the 1/4 or 3/8 end of the mounting stud. 3. With the light mounted, replace the stud at the end of the boom arm and handtighten the locking knob. 4

Operating the boom arm 1. To raise or lower the boom arm, loosen the ratchet handle and push the boom arm up or down to the desired position. Lock the position by hand-tightening the ratchet handle. Note: If tightening the ratchet handle does not securely lock the position of the boom arm, you may use the included Allen key to tighten the two Allen screws in the base riser collar. This will lock the position securely. To change the position of the boom arm again, you will have to first loosen the Allen screws. 5

Operating the boom arm 2. To move the boom arm to the left or right, simply move the hinge on the base of the boom arm to the desired position. 6

Operating the boom arm 3. To extend the boom arm, loosen the locking knob and pull the extension section of the arm out to the desired position. With the locking knob loosened, you can also rotate the extension section to position the light at the desired angle. Note: In order to prevent accidents, always keep one hand on the light when changing the position of the boom arm. Never exceed the load capacity of 8 lbs. 7
