Summer camps for Tennis, Swimming and Climbing can be booked and in the winter season the Ski School offers group training in the morning. Cable car to Mürren Village About Murren & Jungfrauregion Location and accessibility Murren is above the Lauterbrunnen valley at 1,650 m.a.s.l. Located on a sunny terrace the village enjoys the beautiful mountain backdrop of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Gimmelwald is set halfway between Stechelberg and Mürren at 1,394 m.a.s.l. The 106 inhabitants of Gimmelwald and the 410 of Mürren belong to the municipality of Lauterbrunnen. Since Mürren and Gimmelwald are not connected to the Swiss road network, you can only reach the villages by Mürrenbahn (from Lauterbrunnen to Mürren) or by cable car (from Stechelberg to Gimmelwald and Mürren). Arrival Accessibility by car to Lauterbrunnen or Stechelberg is about 130 km from Zürich, from Basel approx. 160 km and from Geneva about 228 km. By train you reach Lauterbrunnen within about 2 ¾ hours from Basel and Zurich, about 3 ¾ hours from Geneva and about 1 ¾ hours from Bern. In Lauterbrunnen or Stechelberg car travelers will take either the Mürren train (Lauterbrunnen for travelers to Mürren) or on the cable car Stechelberg-Mürren- Schilthorn (Stechelberg for travelers to Gimmelwald and Mürren) Traveling by train to Mürren begins from Lauterbrunnen on the Mürrenbahn. Rail passengers to Gimmelwald change to the bus in Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg, Valley Station of the Schilthorn cable car, and then to the Schilthorn cable car. 13
