Saturday 8:30-5:30 (one class --all day) Country Weavers Invites you to our 8 th Annual Basket Weave-In Saturday, January 23, 2010 7:45 am - 5:30 pm Sunday, January 24, 2010 8:30 am - 2:30 pm At Person High School Cafeteria, Roxboro, NC Come for a fun filled day of basket weaving and fellowship! Enclosed you will find a registration packet including a photo brochure and description of our basket offerings. We offer baskets for all skill levels. Please select baskets in order of preference. We will do our best to honor your priority selections if at all possible. Be sure to bring standard basketmaking tools and a water bucket. Any special equipment needed will be noted on the brochure. Light snacks and beverages will be available for you throughout both days courtesy of Country Weavers. On Saturday, registration and breakfast will be from 7:45-8:15 am and lunch from 12:30-1:30 pm. On Sunday, lunch will be served from 12:00-12:30 am. There will be a raffle and everyone gets a Check-In Surprise. Some of the teachers will be vending. Saturday Morning 8:30 12:30 Circles for Your Table Set Montina Aldridge $30 First weave a 5 x 2 Salt and Pepper Basket with a woven handle & small yo-yo to match (shakers included). Then weave a 6 x 8 Napkin Basket with yo-yo to match. Both baskets have colored twining. 8" Square Top Egg Basket Jane Bradsher $35 Made with: one 8' round hoop and one 8" square hoop, flat, flat-oval, color and plain reeds. This basket has a traditional ear wrap. Basket will be pre-started for you. The Great Divide Charlie Coleman $40 Made on an oval wood base this basket is divided by color and plain. You will learn to triple twine using two pieces at each spoke. It also has sloped sides. Eli s Carry All Basket Wanda Harris $55 With a larger oval wooden bottom, this basket measures approximately 11 ½ x 16 x 6 ½ high. The braided leather handles add character to this very useful basket. Woven Stool or Chair Bottom Kim Hicks $20 or $40 Learn to put the bottom in a chair or stool. You can bring your own chair or stool or a stool will be provided for you. Cost is $20 if you bring your own or $40 if stool is provided. Size of stool 13 X 14, please note on registration form if you need to purchase a stool. Hearts & Stars Ginger McGhee $35 This fun and easy basket is named for the beautiful hand painted (hears & stars) wooden bar that is woven in the basket. Base measures 12 x 6. The basket is woven in natural and brown tones of reed & has a tall inserted handle. Divided Silverware Basket Debbie Pergerson $34 This handy divided tote can be used for silverware or as a neat organizer for all of your crafts projects. It has a woven bottom and woven dividers. Weave plain or add color you choose. 11 x 9 x 4
Saturday Afternoon 1:30 5:30 Oval Ribbed Key Basket Jane Bradsher $30 Made with none 8 x 12 oval hoop with one rim in front and back. Flat, flat oval, round, plain, and color reeds will be used. Traditional God s Eye will be pre-started for you. Several colors to pick from. Penny Loafer Penny Burchfield $30 Weaving to fit a loaf of bread, this basket 12 x 5 x 5. Two side handles will be will be used for easy carry from counter to lunch table. Choice of liner. Easy and fun to weave. Twilly Trash Wanda Harris $40 Make your trash basket less boring. A very useful basket that will make a nice addition for your bathroom or any other room. The basket uses a wooden base. Techniques include inserting stakes using Nantucket style, spiral weaving and shaping using a liner. 8 diameter x 11 high Down by the Sea Ginger McGhee $28 This fun and easy basket is made with an insert handle. It is woven with all natural reed in different sizes and accented with a ring of seashell. The basket has a unique rim. The base is 10 ½ x 8. Let s Go Shopping Debbie Pergerson $38 This large tote has a woven bottom and leather handles. It is large enough for shopping, an overnight trip, knitting, or whatever you need to carry. 7 x 16 x 9 ½ Fresh Herbs Basket Sue Sherman $18 This basket measures 5 ½ x 10 ¼. The base is woven over a square hoop, with the sides being brought up to follow the curve of the handle. Just a reminder Basket classes are filled on first come, first serve basis. Sunday 8:30 2:30 Earthtone Octagon Basket Jane Bradsher $45 Made with a 10 octagon slotted wood base. Flat, flat oval, plain and colored (black & smoke) reeds are used. Approx 12 high Chocolate and Cinnamon Charlie Coleman $45 This basket is made on a double slotted base. You will learn to weave two walls and how to shape the second wall to the first wall. It is make of dark brown and light brown Classy Buns Wanda Harris $30 This little basket is approximately 7 X 9 X 3 and is 9 high at the top of the handle. Students may select a double wire handle or leather handles. Add a cloth napkin to make a wonderful bread basket. Striped Cherry Jim Kent $125 6 round striped cherry Nantucket with lid. Woven on a class mold in a chase weave with natural and black cane. Staves will be pre-inserted prior to the class. Advanced level White Lightning Tika Tucker $40 This versatile small bowl can be a candy dish, dresser-top catch-all, or can hold your keys and change. The bottom is stop-start weave, the sides are continuous weave with reverses 3/3 twill throughout. A good project for new twillers. Country Weavers look forward to weaving with you in January
