The largest wilderness area in South Africa. 2. 7 of South Africa s 8 biomes occur here, this means stunning contrasts of crystal clear water ways between precipitous mountains. Open grasslands and fynbos, all within an area in excess of 250,000 hectares. 3. Game viewing including buffalo and black rhino within the reserve. 4. Breath-taking views and awesome adventure driving. 5. Hiking, cycling, and swimming. THERE IS SIMPLY NO ADVENTURE TRAVEL DESTINATION LIKE THIS IN SOUTH AFRICA. HOW TO GET THERE 1. Guests can access the Baviaanskloof from either the west (Willowmore side) or the east (Patensie side), either way it would be ideal to enter one side and leave through the other. 2. A trip through the kloof from end to end would typically take approximately 6 hours. 3. Entering from Patensie, guests check-in at the park entrance, pay the day visitor fee of R20 per person and proceed along the R332 until you exit in the west at the Geelhoutbos Gate. The camp entrance road is 7km from the gate. 4. The suggested route is entering the kloof from Willowmore, take the Vaalwater / Baviaanskloof turn off the N9 and follow the Baviaanskloof signs. The camp entrance road is 7km from the Baviaanskloof Police station. 5. Whilst a 4x4 vehicle is not essential, a high clearance vehicle is. The roads traverses many low water drifts, and will add much fun to the journey. 6. The road from the N9 is a very good gravel road Please contact us at bookings@popupcamps.co.za.
