Welcome from the New South Wales Government A warm welcome to athletes and supporters visiting Jervis Bay on the beautiful South Coast of NSW for the 2015 XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championships. The NSW Government proudly secured this event until 2016, through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW. The XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship takes the traditional triathlon off-road, and welcomes some of the world s best and toughest athletes who will test their skills and endurance on the region s beaches and trails. The weekend-long festival also gives casual participants the opportunity to compete in a sprint distance off-road triathlon, trail run, or relay team competition. The NSW South Coast is a haven for surfers, cyclists, runners and nature lovers, and a fitting location to host this event. Competitors will take in some spectacular scenery en route, and visitors will be charmed by the local hospitality and the area s beautiful natural attractions including Jervis Bay Marine Park and Booderee National Park, as well as its headlands, cliff top walking trails and native forests. Best of luck to all competitors for the 2015 XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championships, and have a wonderful stay in Jervis Bay.

No outside assistance is allowed from any person not competing in the same event. These include but are not limited to spectators, friends, family, volunteers, support crew, photographers, police or marshals. Assistance is limited to tools, tubes or any item that would be used to repair a faulty part or damaged bicycle or water, food, or first aid. Changing bikes is not allowed. As example: A competing athlete is allowed to give another athlete a chain tool or link or a complete chain. A competing athlete can give another athlete a tire patch, tube or complete wheel. But an athlete cannot exchange bikes with another competitor so that the competitor with the broken bike can simply continue without fixing the break. 3.4 e Conduct: Foul riding or running, unsportsmanlike behaviour or the use of profane or abusive language is grounds for warning, relegation, disqualification or fine. 3.5 Protests: Protests of any nature must be submitted within one hour of the finish time of the person lodging the protest. Protests must be submitted in writing and signed by the accuser. Saying somebody cut the course is not good enough it must be written and described as accurately as possible. All protests will be investigated. Because of the nature of XTERRA, it is not always possible to see infractions. XTERRA is in the woods, out of sight and marshaled only where necessary. In every case there will need to be verification of the infraction. Officials will not be drawn into a hear-say argument. 3.6 Miscellaneous: No type of sound device is allowed during competition. Examples: no headsets, tape players, CD players, MP3 players or 2-way radios may be worn. 3.7 Penalties: Penalties will be determined by the severity of the infraction. The minimum penalty is 2-minutes. The maximum penalty is disqualification from the results of the event and/or a loss of prize money. 3.8 Cut-Off Times: Cut-off times are enforced as stated. Where there are wave starts, the time will be measured from the last start of the race. In some cases the head official may alter the cut-off time. 3.9 Professional Athletes: Licensed, professional athletes may enter and compete in any World Tour or National Championship race and win prize money. Any person wanting to enter as an elite/professional must furnish proof that they have been accepted as professional by a recognized multi-sport governing body. Examples of this are: ITU, ETU, USA Triathlon UCI, USA Cycling (road, cyclocross, track or mountain bike) Any national governing body for triathlon, or any national governing body for cycling.

The athlete must present a current card marked clearly and legibly. Without proof of being licensed as a professional, no athlete may compete in the pro category. Also permitted to compete as elite/professional are non-licensed Olympic athletes from cycling, swimming, running or skiing. If a non-licensed athlete feels they are qualified, they must make application to the event race director or to the Managing Director (kahunadav@teamunlimited.com ) for permission. The Race Director may, at his discretion, allow an athlete to compete as an elite/ pro from time to time. 3.9 ITEMS NOT COVERED and relationship with National Federations The published rules and regulations of each country s National Federation are to be considered law except with regard to the specific rules and regulations stated above.
