Official Animal Health Certification and Quarantine Arrangements Horses entering Peru must comply with the sanitary requirements asked by the relevant Agricultural Ministry. Team managers and Shipping agents for horses requiring such certification and/or quarantine must liaise closely with the relevant authorities and the Organising Committee in good time to ensure that horses can be quarantined with maximal efficiency and minimum wastage of time. The clear aim should be all horses to be quarantined over one period of minimal time on an all in all out basis with all horses starting quarantine at the same time. Failure to do that may result in the authorities E Q U E S T R I A N T E C H N I C A L M A N U A L version 1 16/10/2013 16

extending the period of quarantine. Therefore all shippers and National Federations are requested to work within a coordinated approach to quarantine. Horses being re-exported to other countries, must comply with the conditions put in place to allow that. If order to ensure minimal problems, such conditions must be established in good time, and shipping agents and the organizing Committee must be aware well in advance of the Games, so that appropriate measures can be undertaken.
