The AVGM and Vertic-Halle are looking forward to organizing the International Climbing Championships of the IFMGA in Saxon at the biggest indoor climbing hall in the Mont- Blanc region. The family members of all mountain guides are also allowed to participate in certain categories. Parallel to this climbing competition there will be the Interguides games that take place in teams of three. These games are exclusively for guides. Rules climbing championships 1. The competition will take place at the climbing hall Vertic-Halle All mountain guides who own an IFMGA member card as well as nationally recognised aspirant and trainee guides with a national card are allowed to participate. Categories for family members are also planned. The ranking list will be calculated according to the amount of climbed routes or clicked in quickdraws as well as the number of attempts. The competition consists of the qualifications and of the finals. 2. Categories Categories mountain guides ladies A. up to and including 35 years B. from 36 years Categories mountain guides men A. up to and including 30 years B. from 31 up to and including 40 years C. from 41 up to and including 50 years D. from 51 up to and including 60 years E. from 61 up to and including 70 years F. from 71 years Categories family members A. ladies up to and including 35 years B. men up to and including 35 years C. ladies from 36 years D. men from 36 years 3. Qualifications The qualifications consist of 2 rounds that take place during 2 days. The first round (Thursday 3 rd Dec.) lasts 5 hours and the second round (Friday 4 th Dec.) lasts 3 hours.
For the qualifications (up to totally 15 routes), every completed route has to be registered by the participant on his/her own. If the top of the route was not reached, the number of clicked in quickdraws has to be indicated. The quickdraws will be numbered. Attention, all quickdraws have to be clicked in, otherwise there will be a disqualification! Each route, respectively each clicked in quickdraw will give a certain number of points that will be accumulated in order to define the score. The number of attempts will be decisive, too. 4. Finals The final run consists of one single climbing route. For the category mountain guides, this will be climbed on sight according to international climbing competition rules. The top 15 competitors of the qualifications will take part in the finals. For the category family different final routes will be proposed. These will be climbed simultaneously to the ones of the mountain guides. 5. Prizes All participants will get a souvenir present. The top three of each category (of each age category see point 2) as well as the top three of all categories obtain a prize. The organizing committee is free to decide on the attribution of the prizes. The organizing committee may also dedicate special awards. 6. Insurance Each participant has to be insured against accidents! The organizer declines any responsibility in case of an accident of the participants or of third parties.
Rules Interguides games 1. The competition will take place at and around the climbing hall Vertic-Halle All mountain guides who own an IFMGA member card as well as nationally recognised aspirant and trainee guides with a national card are allowed to participate in teams of three. The Interguides games consist of five challenges. The games are open to the mountain guides who do not participate in the climbing competition as well as to the guides taking part in the championships. The ranking will be done measured according to the results of each team depending on the challenge. No specific equipment is needed. 2. The only goal of this competition is to have fun 3. Prizes The top three teams will get a prize. The organizing committee is free to decide on the attribution of the prizes. The organizing committee may also dedicate special awards. 4. Insurance Each participant has to be insured against accidents! The organizer declines any responsibility in case of an accident of the participants or of third parties.
Good to know Organizer AVGM and Vertic-Halle Registration Registration has to be done in written with the enclosed form or by sending all information by e-mail to champs.uiagm@vertic-halle.ch. Registration will only be valid when the payment of the participation fee has been executed. You ll get a confirmation after receipt of payment before 20 th November 2015. After this date it will still be possible to register on site against supplement. Accommodation On this occasion the mountain guides from the Valais invite you to stay at their home. Due to limited places, we follow the rule: first come first serve. All other accommodations and hotel bookings have to be done by the participants themselves. We recommend you the hotels in the region around Sion where the Gala dinner will take place on Friday evening.
