INTRODUCTION From humble beginnings over 130 years ago, the Ballan Football Netball Club now thrives in a vibrant, ever growing Ballan community located in the middle of the big three Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat. Access to the V Line fast rail country network has seen unprecedented growth in the once sleepy township, with many city residents seizing the opportunity for a change of pace and taking up the best of both worlds lifestyle Ballan has to offer. As the town s largest spor ng club with an established presence in the local community, we, and therefore our suppor ng partners, have a tremendous opportunity to benefit from an ever expanding young popula on hungry for sport. Ballan s popula on is forecast to increase by up to 100% by 2020. Recent facili es upgrades and the recruitment of a number of high profile former AFL champions have put the club in the spotlight and a racted extensive media coverage. This has also helped us to achieve improved performances and excellent par cipa on numbers across all grades of football and netball, par cularly within junior ranks. The Ballan Football Netball Club is commi ed to providing the community with a recrea onal service for the whole family to enjoy. The club has successfully obtained Level 3 under the ADF s Good Sports Accredita on Program. We have in excess of 300 hundred members covering a vast range of ages. We are commi ed to establishing a club that has a strong focus on youth development, and to accelerate this, we place great importance on the appointment of coaching and support staff that not only develop the spor ng skills of our youth, but also understand the broader life challenges faced by young men and women today. 2

Our club has a supporter base in excess of 300+, made up of players, members and spectators varying over a vast range of ages. At our home games, we can have up to 700+ spectators move through our gates throughout the day. This includes players; parents and/or partners of players, the opposing team players and supporters; members; and general public who show an interest for the game. Our players primarily consist of residents from local towns; Ballan, Greendale, Gordon, Beremboke, Myrniong, Mt Wallace & Mt Egerton, with 22% of our players traveling from areas out of town, such as Werribee, Melton, Ballarat and Bacchus Marsh.
