RULES OF PLAY USGA RULES OF GOLF SHALL APPLY PLUS THE FOLLOWING LOCAL RULES AT BOTH COURSES: Distance measuring devices will be allowed as long as the device IS ONLY USED TO MEASURE DISTANCE. Golf Cars are NOT ALLOWED in Desert areas. Desert is played as a lateral water hazard. These hazards are defined by the edge of the rough, or when a cart path runs adjacent to the rough and desert, by the desert-side edge of the cart path. All rules applicable to lateral water hazards apply to the desert. (For Example: A player may not ground his club in the desert or remove loose impediments with the exception of stones or rocks) A player may use any option under 26-1 when taking relief from a lateral water hazard (including the desert). The players should use the point that the ball last crossed the margin of the hazard. PENALTY = 1 stroke. Rocks and or stones in bunkers and in lateral water hazards are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies) All water hazards are to be considered lateral water hazards. When no lines or stakes are present, the margin of the hazard should be defined by the nearest point on the course that is reasonably level. PACE OF PLAY In an attempt to help everyone enjoy the trip and finish the round in a timely fashion, we ask that you play ready golf. The maximum pace of play will be 15 minutes per hole or a total of 4 hours and 30 minutes for each round.
