Radio Controlled Model Organization of Trinidad & Tobago Sport History Accomplishments Plans
The Sport How we see sport is being reimagined as a people. Internationally, Radio Controlled (RC) model racing is a disciplined sport, governed by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR). HIGHLIGHTS Non Traditional. Internationally Organized. International Competition. All Inclusive. It has gained acceptance because it is all inclusive, exciting, enjoyable, competitive, co-operative and safe. Competitors range form children to the retired, male and female, and the differently abled, with no segregation at race time. Exciting. Safe.
The Model It is important to note that radio controlled cars are not the toy cars one buys at the local electronics store or supermart, but a scaled down version of a full size vehicle with all the working mechanical features. HIGHLIGHTS Not a Toy Scale Mechanical Model. Requires technical knowledge. Fuel & Battery Versions. It therefore requires a certain level of technical knowledge and expertise to assemble and operate them. Many manufacturers in recent years however, have also capitalised on the need for a ready-to -run (RTR) car where you can purchase an already assembled car and start driving with minimal work involved. RC cars are produced in many scaled versions. However, the most popular size used in RC Offroad and GT On-road Car Championships around the world is the 1/8th scale version, which is about 15-22 inches in length. They are powered by either a Nitro (Methanol & Oil blend) fuel 2 stroke engine or a battery powered electric motor (battery operated). Promoting Sport
