GENTS AGGREGATE COMPETITION FORMATS The J Menzies Trophy. This award is made to the player with the best 4 aggregate net scores calculated from all the named Thursday & Saturday Medals as per the Fixture List, over the entire season. Four Seasons Trophy. This Competition comprises the Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter Meetings. The player with the best 3 aggregate net scores out of the 4 meetings will be awarded the Trophy. In addition to the Trophy, there are vouchers for first, second and third - as well as winners vouchers for each of the individual meetings. Edradour Cup (Order of Merit). Played throughout the year, a system of points distributed to the first nine players in any qualifying competition as follows: 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 with the trophy going to the member with the greatest accumulation of points over the season. Qualifying competitions are recognized as those that all members are entitled to enter, and could reasonably be expected to be available for, and as such excludes Thursday competitions, over 50 s events, pairs/team events, knockouts, scrambles etc. Order of Merit points will be awarded in individual stroke play and stableford events and will normally be played within Saturday and Sunday competitions. Naturally, the more you play in these qualifying events the better chance of accumulating points. Prizes are awarded for the first three places at the end of the season Medal Winners Competition. All winners of the named Thursday & Saturday medals qualify to compete in the Medal Winners Final in October, where further prizes are awarded for the three best scores on the day. 20
ETIQUETTE COURTESY ON THE COURSE CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER PLAYERS In the interest of all, players should play without delay. No player shall play until the players in front are out of range. Players searching for a ball should signal the players behind them to pass as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not be easily found; they should not search for five minutes before doing so. They should not continue to play until the players following them have passed and are out of range. When the play of a hole has been completed players should immediately leave the putting green. PRIORITY ON THE COURSE In the absence of special rules, two ball matches should have precedence of, and be entitled to pass, any three or four ball match. If a match fails to keep its place on the course and loses more than one clear hole on the players in front it shall allow the match following to pass. All Members must start their round at the first tee, unless granted permission to start elsewhere by the Professional. Any players not playing a whole round can only cut in if there is at least two clear holes behind them and they would also lose their standing on the course. 21
BYE LAWS 1. The Standard Scratch Score shall be White Tees 68, Yellow Tees 67 and Red Tees 70. 2. Handicaps will be issued on the basis of three scores as per handicap rules. 3. * Players entering Medal and other PGC Competitions and failing to show after being allocated a starting time will be required to pay the Entry Fee and will also receive a written warning. In the event of a recurrence, a ban will be imposed from entering the next 4 medal competitions. Any further recurrence could result in a ban for the remainder of the season. Exception to 3 above. Provided the Match Secretary or Professional has been notified before the allocated starting time with a valid reason for cancellation. *Note: (3) ONLY APPLIES TO PITLOCHRY GOLF CLUB MEMBERS. 4. No Member may alter any starting sheet without prior consent of the Match Secretary or his/her deputy. 5. Subject to the rules of the governing body, the ultimate decision in all dispute/query is left with the appropriate sub committee of the Pitlochry Golf Club. From The Rules of Golf 22
LOCAL RULES 1. Immovable Obstructions a) Artificially constructed or surfaced roads and paths including sides and edging of the same. b) All weather shelters and secured course furniture. c) All manhole covers, sprinkler and drainage covers. All of the above are to be treated as immovable obstructions and relief under Rule 24 2(b) may be taken. All other roads, pathways and tracks, stones, boulders and rocks, manmade tee supports, walls and steps are integral parts of the course and no relief is given. 2. Protection of Young Trees (Rule 24-2b) If a young tree, identified by being supported or protected by a stake or other device such as a tube or cage, interferes with a player s stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b. The ball may be cleaned when lifted under this Local Rule. 3. Unmarked Ditches All ditches not indicated by stakes of lateral water hazards or water hazards are to be treated as integral parts of the course. Relief may be taken under Rule 28 and a penalty of one stroke. 4. All ground under repair will be clearly defined. 5. Stones in Bunkers. Are movable obstructions. ( Rule 24-1 applies ) 6. Distance Measuring Devices. For all play at this course, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If a player uses a distancemeasuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule14-3 23

Full members of the Pitlochry Golf Club are now permitted unlimited guests per annum at a concessionary green fee rate of 14. Country and Intermediate members are permitted 9 guest tickets at the same rate. International members 6 guest tickets. Members must accompany their guests on the course and are limited to 3 at any one visit. No guest shall benefit from the concession more than 12 times throughout the season. 24
