WELCOME! Dear Junior Golfer: Thank you for being a part of and competing in the Ewing Automotive Summer Series this past summer! The Ewing Automotive Summer Series Championship is a historic event and has played host to many great junior golfers over the years. This tournament serves as the pinnacle for the entire summer and we hope you are as excited to play as we are to conduct the tournament for you! EWING AUTOMOTIVE SUMMER SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP Brookhaven Country Club Farmers Branch, Texas Monday, August 14 Tuesday, August 15, 2017 Important Facts and Contestant Information Registration Competitors MUST register prior to Round 1 on Monday, August 14. Registration will open at 6:15 a.m. and will be located inside the main entrance of the clubhouse where the circle drive is located. You will NOT be called to your starting tee. It is the competitor s responsibility to be on the tee at his/her specified time. Format The Ewing Automotive Summer Series Championship is a 36-hole stroke play competition for the 11-18 age divisions and an 18-hole stroke play competition for the 7-10 age divisions. The Rules Committee may reduce the competition to fewer holes due to weather constraints provided all players in the age division have completed the same holes. Course Assignments MASTERS COURSE Boys 15-18, Boys 13-14, Boys 11-12, Girls 15-18, Girls 13-14, and Girls 11-12 PRESIDENTS COURSE (HOLES 1-9): Boys 9-10, Boys 7-8 PRESIDENTS COURSE (HOLES 10-18): Girls 7-8, Girls 9-10 Practice Rounds Please contact Brookhaven Country Club to schedule a practice round starting time. Practice rounds will be scheduled on a space available basis. A fee of $25.00 will be charged for all player practice rounds. Players may be accompanied by one guest at the standard Brookhaven Country Club guest rate. Practice Facilities During the Summer Series Championship, contestants will have access to practice putting and chipping greens, and driving range. The driving range will open at 6:30 AM for Round 1 and Round 2 of the Summer Series Championship. Distance Measuring Devices The NTPGA Junior Tour will allow the use of distance measuring devices. Please refer the 2017 NTPGA Rules and Regulations for more information in regards to use of measuring devices.

Caddies and Golf Cars 13-14 & 15-18 Age Divisions The Ewing Automotive Summer Series Championship is a walking only competition. Players shall walk at all times during a stipulated round. Caddies are NOT permitted during the competition. Participants must carry their own clubs. Pull carts ARE permitted at Brookhaven Country Club. Players are not permitted to ride in golf cars during competition except where golf car shuttles are designated by the NTPGA Rules Committee. Boys & Girls 7-8, Boys & Girls 9-10 and Boys 11-12 Age Divisions The Ewing Automotive Summer Series Championship is a walking only competitions. Girls 11-12 Age Divisions Players competing in the Girls 11-12 age division ARE permitted to have one caddie to give advice. All players in the Girls 11-12 age division MUST ride in a golf cart for the duration of the round. All bags and equipment must be transported on the golf cart. All players in the Girls 11-12 division must have a licensed driver over the age of 16 to drive the golf cart. Food and Beverage There will be no food and beverage function during play on Monday or Tuesday. The NTPGA will provide beverages as well as snacks on the course for the players on holes #1, #5, #10, #14 on both the Masters and Presidents Courses. You are more than welcome to carry beverages for the players in the coolers on your spectator carts. Brookhaven Country Club will have The Haven open from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday for players and spectators to purchase food and beverages throughout the tournament. Cash and credit is accepted. The Haven is located at the back of the driving range. Club Staff Head Golf Professional Tony Kott Superintendent Andy Morrissette Suspension / Resumption of Play All practice areas are closed during suspension for a dangerous situation until the Committee has declared them open. One prolonged note of an air horn Discontinue Play Immediately for a Dangerous Situation. Two short notes of an air horn Resumption of Play. Scoring Area At the conclusion of your round, please proceed to the dining room inside the main clubhouse of Brookhaven Country Club (behind the pool). You are only responsible for your correct hole-by-hole scores and two signatures (i.e., your marker s and your own). The scoring area is defined by tape.

Ties In the event of a tie for first place following the final round (in each respective age division), there will be a hole-by-hole sudden death playoff. In the event of a tie for second or third place following the final round for all age divisions, a scorecard playoff will be used to break the tie, starting with Round 2 score. Should weather or darkness interfere, a scorecard playoff will be utilized beginning with the Round 2 score card. Awards Awards will be presented to the top three (3) places in each age division immediately following the conclusion of play for each age group. Each awards ceremony will take place in the main dining room of the clubhouse. Tournament Exemptions At the conclusion of the Ewing Automotive Summer Series Championship, the winner of the Boys 9-10, Girls 9-10, Boys 11-12 and Girls 11-12 age divisions will be granted a spot on the Northern Texas PGA s Texas Junior Cup team! Learn more about the Texas Junior Cup Matches HERE. Spectator Carts During the Summer Series Championship, only one (1) spectator cart will be granted for each junior golfer (EXCEPTION BELOW). Spectator carts can be rented inside the golf shop within one (1) hour prior to the junior golfer s starting time (i.e. if your junior golfer s tee time is 8:30 a.m., you cannot rent a spectator cart prior to 7:30 a.m.). Carts will be $30 for the spectators watching on the Masters Course and $20 for the spectators on the Presidents Course. EXCEPTION: Additional spectator carts will be made available to spectators with a permanent handicap placard. These spectators may rent a spectator cart within one (1) hour prior to their junior golfer's starting time. Spectators with a permanent handicap placard must present this documentation to Ryan Kossick, NTPGA Assistant Executive Director, at Brookhaven Country Club to rent their cart. Handicapped spectators will not receive a cart unless they have the official placard. Letters from doctors or visible injuries will not warrant a spectator cart without a placard. NOTE: No more than three (3) people are permitted to ride in a golf cart at one time. Spectators are NOT permitted to ride on the back of golf carts at any time. Final Round All players will be re-paired according to score within their respective age division for Round 2 with lower scores going off late and higher scores going off early in each respective age division. Round 2 starting times and groupings will be emailed to all participants and will be available on the NTPGA website by 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 14. Players who were in the morning wave for Round 1 on the Masters Course will be in the afternoon wave for Round 2. Players in the afternoon wave on the Masters Course during Round 1 will be in the morning wave for Round 2. Players on the Presidents Course tee times will be between 7:15 9:15 a.m. for both rounds.

Parent / Spectator Guidelines The NTPGA Junior Tour takes pride in the Ewing Automotive Summer Series Championship and the quality of its players and host facilities. In order to continue making the Summer Series Championship enjoyable for everyone, the NTPGA Junior Tour requires all players and their parents/guardians to adhere to a set of guidelines. These guidelines should be followed throughout the entire stay of a tournament. This policy is strictly enforced for the welfare of the players. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend all NTPGA Junior Tour sanctioned tournaments. Spectators attend NTPGA Junior Tour sanctioned events at their own risk. Keep a distance from your child while following him/her throughout the tournament rounds. You are asked to stay on the cart paths or in the rough where cart paths are not accessible and at least 30 yards away from the players. Do not walk in the fairways. Always be aware of the group behind you. Stay up equal to players or ahead to forecaddie. No advice is to be given to players during the tournament rounds. Talking to the players may be construed as giving advice, resulting in a penalty for the player. Spectators are not allowed to give advice to the players. Under Rule 8, the definition of advice is: Advice is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of club or method of making a stroke. Penalty for breach of Rule 8. Advice Stroke Play: Two Strokes Allow NTPGA Rules Officials to administer rulings. You will be brought into a situation ONLY if the rules official asks you. Help spot balls. Spectators should stay one shot ahead of the group they are following. This allows spectators to follow errant shots and help identify where the ball comes to rest. Spectators are encouraged to aid in the search for lost golf balls. Parents may not carry a player s golf bag and/or clubs on the course. Parents/Spectators are allowed to carry medicine, water, umbrella, jackets, towels and food for the players. When on the course, turn off cell phones or turn ringers to silent or vibrate mode. Parents are required to observe good taste and dress appropriately for the golf course. Please adhere to the host facility s dress code. Some facility s may not allow blue jeans, T-shirts, etc. Pool Party and Ice Cream The Brookhaven Country Club pool will be available for contestant, sibling and parent use on Monday, August 14 from 12:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. Please adhere to all Brookhaven Country Club rules while using the pool facility. No pool attire should be worn inside the main Brookhaven Country Club facility. There will also be an ice cream truck stationed in the parking lot at Brookhaven Country Club from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, August 14. The ice cream truck is provided at no additional charge, so feel free to stop by and get some ice cream once you have completed your round on Monday!

Pace of Play Policy The established Pace of Play for all NTPGA Junior Tour sanctioned tournaments is 15 minutes per hole (4 hours and 30 minutes) plus one additional minute between the play of two holes for a total of 4 hours and 48 minutes per round unless otherwise noted. Pace of Play Penalty Structure The NTPGA Junior Tour reserves the right to penalize a group or individual player if multiple violations of the Pace of Play policy occur. During a stipulated round, an individual player or group will receive the following warnings and subsequent penalties from an NTPGA Rules Official if they are found to be over time and/or out of position, as previously defined. FIRST OFFENSE: Warning (Yellow) SECOND OFFENSE: Warning (Orange) THIRD OFFENSE: One (1) stroke penalty (Red) FOURTH OFFENSE: Two (2) stroke penalty (Black) FIFTH OFFENSE: Disqualification NOTE 1: Penalty strokes will be added to the hole where the infraction occurred. NOTE 2: Pace of play warnings and penalties will not carry over to any subsequent NTPGA Junior Tour sanctioned rounds.
