National Office News As many of you are aware, two years ago I accepted a position outside of the work I had been doing at home and began working full-time for the Oregon State University Klamath Basin Research & Extension Center; during this time I continued as the National Secretary for the PTBRA. It has been very hectic but at the end of last summer I came to the realization that it was just not possible for me to be the mother I want to be to our girls, and work-full time while still taking care of our home business and the PTBRA office. It is all just too much and something had to give; although I have grown to know so many of you and enjoy the PTBRA, it was clear to me that the PTBRA office needed to move on to someone who could devote the necessary time without being pulled in so many different directions. My contract expired in February and unfortunately the transition of finding a new National Secretary has not been as simple as I and the Board of Directors had hoped it would be, so I am still here trying to keep everything moving along. I thank everyone for your patience during this time. Prior to the expiration of my contract, the Board sought resumes from people interested in taking on the position and a candidate was selected who later declined the position for personal reasons. The Board met last week and decided that it was best to re-open the position due to not only the length of time from when the previous resumes had been submitted but also because it became apparent that although the Directors had spread the word that we were seeking candidates, not everyone who wished to apply had knowledge that the position was available until after we began the review. So at this time we are making all members aware that the position is open and the Board anticipates making a choice by the end of June with the transfer of the office expected to take place after the 4 th of July rodeos. Included in this newsletter is the position description; this will also be posted on the website under the news button on the left side. Please feel free to distribute this announcement to anyone you know who may be interested. We are asking for all applicants to submit their resume no later than June 20, 2011 by 5:00 p.m. either by mail to P.O. Box 1096, Midland, OR 97634 or by e-mail to ptbra@e-isco.com. All resumes will be reviewed after that date and the top candidates will be selected for interviews. Everyone will be notified when a candidate is chosen and the transfer takes place so you will know where to call-in your entries.
