Dancers should be completely dressed in costume with full makeup and hair done according to the guidelines found in this packet. ANY STUDENT NOT ACCOUNTED FOR 15 MINUTES BEFORE CURTAIN CALL, MAY LOSE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM! DROP OFF PROCEDURE: Upon arriving at Skylne High School Theatre, please escort your dancer(s) through the front theater lobby, past the commons area to the designated dressing areas (look for Dressing Area signs with class assignments posted on the walls). A parent must check in with the dressing room supervisor before leaving their child. After checking in your child, you may return back to the lobby and get into the ticketed guests line prior to the theater doors opening. DRESSING ROOMS: Preschool, mini and junior levels 1 and 2 will be assigned the Black Box Theater dressing room located at the end of the hallway in back of the main theater (look for signs). Designated helpers and DP instructors will be with each class both before and after their performance time. Disney videos and other activities will be provided for all young dancers while they await their performance time. You may pack bottled water and other munchies that will not stain the costumes. All Preschool age dancers and mini dancers are required to stay in the dressing room until their performance time. PARTICIPATING DANCERS AS AUDIENCE MEMBERS: Performers 5 & under should be collected in the dressing room by a parent immediately after their performance and taken back into the audience to watch the rest of the recital show. Preschool students may watch the rest of the show in the theater by sitting on a parents lap, or they may sit among family members if a seat is available. All other performers ages 6+ are welcome to watch the show in the designated performer section for free. **Dancers ages 6 and up (levels 1 and higher) MUST REMAIN IN THE DRESSING ROOM AREAS UNTIL EXCUSED BY THE INSTRUCTOR. Once they are done performing, they can sit in a designated performers only area in the theater, free of charge for the remainder of the show. This area is sectioned off in the back of the theatre. If you wish them to sit with family you must purchase them a ticket.

PERFORMERS DANCING IN MULTIPLE SHOWS Families who have children performing in more than one show may purchase 2nd & 3rd show tickets at a reduced price -- If you are a family who qualifies for discounted tickets for a second or third show, an email will be sent to you with instructions on how to purchase them from Tutu Tix. FLOWER BOUQUET PRE- ORDERS Make sure to carry on the time honored tradition of presenting your special dancer with flowers at the end of her/his performance. Pre-order forms are attached and can also be downloaded from our 2017 Spring Recital Info" under the General Information tab of our webpage www.dancepremier.com. Bouquets will be available for pick up at your recital show in the lobby of the Skyline Theatre. All assigned tights and shoes can be purchased through links on our website. Tights colors vary by brand and will not match with the rest of the students if purchased separately, so please confirm with your teacher during Picture Week that your tights are approved. BALLET CLASSES: Pink tights and Pink leather ballet shoes in good performance quality condition. JAZZ CLASSES: black slip on jazz shoes with NO laces. LYRICAL CLASSES: Foot undies TAP CLASSES black tap shoes, no laces preferred HIP HOP CLASSES- check with teacher for sneaker & socks color. RECITAL COSTUME GUIDELINES RECITAL COSTUME DISCLAIMER: Recital costumes are mass produced by dance costume companies and are NOT custom made to fit each child. Parents are responsible for the added expense of any minor alterations or hemming that might be necessary for an appropriate fit. We will be setting up dates in May for appointments with our In-house Seamstress for slight alterations at the customer s expense. COSTUME ALTERATIONS: In order for all costumes to fit each dancer correctly, it may be necessary for pants and sleeve lengths to be altered accordingly at your own expense. In the event that a costume is unmistakably the wrong size and extensive alterations are necessary, our costume seamstress will tailor the costume to fit at no cost to you. This special accommodation may only be made at the discretion of Ms. Stephanie. Upon receiving your costume(s), please put costumes up in a safe place where they cannot be damaged. Dance Premier cannot replace your costume should something happen to it. We recommend hanging all tutus upside down on a hanger. It would be a good idea to put all needed tights, shoes & accessories in a plastic bag with the appropriate costume so you aren't desperately searching for items the night before class pictures. LABEL, LABEL, LABEL----Put your child's name or initials on every tag in indelible ink! Every year we have students who accidentally leave shoes/tights/costumes at the theater and we don t know who to contact to let them know we have their items.

HAIR STYLE REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH CLASS Students with hair that is too short and cannot be pulled into a ballet bun should have hair pulled back from the face with a NEUTRAL colored, elastic headband or half pony tail. Add a handful of hair gel (Dippity Dew or Loreal Mega Gel works very well) and slick hair back with a tight bristle brush and secure hair into pony tail with thick elastic tie. Comb down any loose hair pieces and secure with hair matching bobby pins. BEFORE GEL AND HAIR COMPLETELY DRIES, SPRAY AEROSOL HAIR SPRAY OVER ENTIRE HEAD. Hair should be crisp and dry hard to the touch. HAIR NETS AND HAIR PINS ARE AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCAL DRUG/CONVENIENCE STORE HOW TO MAKE THE PERFECT BALLET BUN : For a step by step informative video, please refer to the following You Tube linkhttps://youtbe/882m4qku0sg.

STAGE MAKE- UP APPLICATION **Stage make up Is REQUIRED to be worn during Dress Rehearsal week for ALL classes except levels 3. TINY TUTUS, PRE DANCE, KINDERCOMBO, and MINI LEVELS should wear pink blush, brown eye shadow a hint of mascara and rose tinted lipstick. I presume that moms will be helping little ones with their make-up, please do what your child will allow you to do in your application. JUNIOR / TEEN / SENIOR CLASSES should wear HEAVY POWDER or skin matching foundation, rose tinted blush, berry colored lipstick/liner, brown eye shadow, brown brow liner, black/charcoal eyeliner, mascara, and bronzer for fair skinned dancers. PRODIGY performers must also wear false eyelashes. ****Other information: Please remember all of our dancers have worked very hard on their dances this year so missing performances scheduled at the end of every show only prevents dancers from showing off their superstar work. Keep in mind that at some point, EVERY dancer will have to perform last, and it is proper etiquette for audience members to support them. If your dancer arrives late, their group will go on stage without them the show order will not be changed or held to wait for you for tech rehearsal or during the show. Dancers are expected to stay until the end of the show. If, in special circumstances, your dancer must leave mid-show, please let the office know in writing by June 5, 2017 When arriving for the show, dancers must check in at the dressing room door (signs will direct you where to go). Once checked in, dancers are supervised by parent volunteers and staff in the back stage area until the end of the show. Young dancers are provided with backstage activities including coloring, music, movies, and games. Older dancers tend to be busy with multiple dances, as well as assisting with the younger dancers. During the show, the backstage area is extremely busy. Only parent volunteers and DP staff are permitted back stage If you have any questions for your dancer s teacher or the studio Directors, please ask them before rehearsal /recital day. Rehearsal and Recital day require the DP Staff to be backstage with their students, making them unavailable until the end of the rehearsal/show.
