INTERNATIONAL ONE METRE CLASS CERTIFICATION CONTROL - HULL AND APPENDAGES CHECKLIST GENERAL NOTE TO OFFICIAL MEASURERS 1 Certification control shall be carried out in accordance with the Equipment Rules of Sailing except where varied in the class rules. 2 The hull and appendages shall comply with all the class rules in Sections D and E even if some of the rules are not mentioned on this form. Refer also to the IOM Questions and Answers (Q&A) for reference to previous interpretations. Do all parts of the rig function in a way that is normal for items of their type? Are any ball or roller bearings used only in: headsail boom sheet blocks, headsail boom swivel, kicking strap fitting, gooseneck, mainsail boom sheet blocks? Are the lengths of any spar (excluding fitings and corrector weights) joiners less than or equal to 100 mm? Is the total length of cutaways between the lower point and upper point less than or equal to 100 mm? Is the width of all limit marks between 3 and 10 mm? Is the principal material of the spars, (excluding fitings), aluminium alloy or wood? Are any other materials on the spars limited to: adhesive, anodising, paint, powder coat, varnish, wax? Except for the last 10 mm at each end and openings for fittings and rigging is the section of spars constant? Are these fittings present: mainsail clew fitting(s), mainsail boom sheet fitting(s), kicking strap fitting, headsail tack and clew fittings, headsail boom sheet fitting(s), headsail boom swivel and/or its fitting? Are only these optional fittings present: mainsail tack fitting(s), gooseneck fitting, openings for mainsail boom sheet fitting, headsail stay fitting(s) or opening, topping lift fitting(s) or opening, counterweight and its attachment, opening(s) for headsail boom sheet fitting? 23 F.4.5 Ignoring the last 10 mm at each end and fittings, is the spar able to pass through a 20mm ring gauge? 24 F.4.5 Is the difference between smallest and largest value along the spar, excluding fittings, 0.5mm or less? 25 F4.5 Is the curvature measured between points on the top of the spar 10mm from each end, no more than 3mm?
