Potential health effects Routes of exposure Eyes Skin Inhalation Ingestion Target organs Chronic effects Signs and symptoms Potential environmental effects Inhalation. Eyes. Skin. Ingestion. Direct contact with eyes may cause temporary irritation. Causes skin irritation. Vapors may irritate throat and respiratory system and cause coughing. In high concentrations, vapors are narcotic and may cause headache, fatigue, dizziness and nausea. Harmful if swallowed, can enter lungs and cause damage. Droplets of the product aspirated into the lungs through ingestion or vomiting may cause a serious chemical pneumonia. Skin. Eyes. Respiratory system. Central nervous system. Organic solvents may be absorbed into the body by inhalation and cause permanent damage to the nervous system, including the brain. Vapors may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Symptoms include itching, burning, redness, and tearing of eyes. Prolonged or repeated contact may dry skin and cause irritation. Be aware that symptoms of chemical pneumonia (shortness of breath) may occur several hours after exposure. Toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. 3. 4. First Aid Measures First aid procedures Inhalation Skin contact Eye contact Ingestion tes to physician General advice 5. Fire Fighting Measures Flammable properties Extinguishing media Suitable extinguishing media Unsuitable extinguishing media Protection of firefighters Specific hazards arising from the chemical Protective equipment for firefighters Fire fighting equipment/instructions Explosion data Sensitivity to static discharge Sensitivity to mechanical impact Hazardous combustion products Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If not breathing, give artificial respiration or give oxygen by trained personnel. Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Use soap if available. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists. Wash clothing separately before reuse. Immediately flush with plenty of water for up to 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues. IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Rinse mouth thoroughly. If vomiting occurs, keep head low so that stomach content doesn't get into the lungs. Never give anything by mouth to a victim who is unconscious or is having convulsions. Do not induce vomiting without advice from poison control center. Treat symptomatically. Keep victim warm. Ensure that medical personnel are aware of the material(s) involved, and take precautions to protect themselves. This product is not flammable or combustible. Will burn if involved in a fire. Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Water Spray or Fog. Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire. During fire, gases hazardous to health may be formed. Selection of respiratory protection for firefighting: follow the general fire precautions indicated in the workplace. Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire. Use water spray to cool unopened containers. Move containers from fire area if you can do so without risk. Material can accumulate static charges which may cause an incendiary electrical discharge. This is a stable material. Carbon oxides. Hydrogen chloride. 6. Accidental Release Measures Personal precautions Environmental precautions Methods for containment Keep unnecessary personnel away. Extinguish all ignition sources. Avoid sparks, flames, heat and smoking. Ventilate. Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Ventilate closed spaces before entering them. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. Keep out of low areas. Do not contaminate water. Stop leak if you can do so without risk. Move the cylinder to a safe and open area if the leak is irreparable. Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. 5257 Version #: 01 Revision date: - Issue date: 06-February-2015 2 / 7

Methods for cleaning up Eliminate all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks or flames in immediate area). Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Use only non-sparking tools. Keep combustibles (wood, paper, oil, etc.) away from spilled material. Large Spills: Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Use a non-combustible material like vermiculite, sand or earth to soak up the product and place into a container for later disposal. Following product recovery, flush area with water. Small Spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination. Other information Never return spills to original containers for re-use. Clean up in accordance with all applicable regulations. 7. Handling and Storage Handling Storage Wear protective clothing as described in Section 8 of this safety data sheet. Avoid breathing mists or vapors. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not taste or swallow. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using the product. Use only with adequate ventilation. In case of inadequate ventilation, use respiratory protection. Wash thoroughly after handling. Eliminate all sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. All equipment used when handling the product must be grounded. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Store in a well-ventilated place. Store in a cool place. Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. - smoking. Store in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulation. Keep only in the original container in a cool, well-ventilated place. Store away from incompatible materials (see Section 10 of the MSDS). Keep away from food, drink and animal feedingstuffs. Do not store in open or unlabelled containers. Keep out of the reach of children. Protect from direct sunlight. 8. Exposure Controls / Personal Protection Occupational exposure limits Canada. Engineering controls Use explosion-proof equipment. Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation. Observe Occupational Exposure Limits and minimize the risk of inhalation of vapors. Provide eyewash station. Personal protective equipment Eye / face protection Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles). Skin protection Wear suitable protective clothing. Full body suit and boots are recommended when handling large volumes or in emergency situations. Wear protective gloves. Be aware that the liquid may penetrate the gloves. Frequent change is advisable. Suitable gloves can be recommended by the glove supplier. Respiratory protection If engineering controls do not maintain airborne concentrations below recommended exposure limits (where applicable) or to an acceptable level (in countries where exposure limits have not been established), an approved respirator must be worn. Use a NIOSH/MSHA approved air purifying respirator as needed to control exposure. Consult with respirator manufacturer to determine respirator selection, use, and limitations. Use positive pressure, air-supplied respirator for uncontrolled releases or when air purifying respirator limitations may be exceeded. Follow respirator protection program requirements (OSHA 110.134 and ANSI Z88.2) for all respirator use..
